Hm, I've needed some time to throw in my two cents:

Despite retirement, my first nomination is Perez split with Ricciardo. He clearly had a chance at third place, as he kept Vettel at bay. From a Q2 drop, it's absolutely a good drive. (And Hulk silently keeps his perfect scoring record alongside Rosberg and Alonso with his fifth place - he needs a sparkling race though!) Ricky! He's doin' it for Dayel, and it's safe to say: it is a popular, feel-good victory for him. He's now 19 points in front of his illustrious team-mate, and it could have been more if it wasn't for the Oz DSQ. They both deserve 5-5 points each.
Rosberg gets second place. After Lewis DNF'd, he knew that this race can make or break his title bid, so he marched on and still scored 18 valuable points. An intelligent, if a touch aggressive (remember his move on Hamilton at T1) drive that kept him going despite his team being worried he will retire as well - but he didn't. However, he was really not calm during the race. Reminds me of Alonso from 2005...

1. Button - was pleasantly, happily shocked and surprised to see him pop up in 4th at the end of the race on the on-screen graphics. I was not expecting that.
2. Massa - Perez has been judged to have been guilty of that incident.

2) Button - Not only beating Alonso and Hulkenberg but also dropping Bottas and Raikonnen who he wasn't beating early in the race

Ricciardo spent like 30 laps behind Perez before he got past, and then only because Perez's brakes acted up in turn 1. Vettel got by fairly quickly afterwards, within 3 laps.

1) Daniel Ricciardo: Yes, he was only up there because of Mercedes' problems, but he took advantage of the situation more readily than Vettel did.

2) Sergio Perez: Pity about the crash at the end, because Perez showed his form with tyre management very well during the race.

Honourable mention for Jenson Button: McLaren were anonymous as hell during that race, which makes Button's strong finish somewhat surprising.

1. Jenson Button. One of the cases where somehow in the end see "how did driver X finish there?"
2. Daniel Ricciardo. Victory is victory. Even if he has won two (plus lost one due to DQ) non-Mercedes races earlier this year.

Sounds like the rather peculiar era when they would split the scoring between turbo and non-turbo on the same board.

1) Force India - For very nearly making that strategy work brilliantly.

2) Button - Yes, there was a bit of luck involved, but that was an unlikely finish.

I won't nominate Ricciardo because it had to happen sooner or later (though I admittedly didn't expect it to be this soon)

2. Vergne - really anonymous race and ran very well when the focus was on Perez and Massa

Rosberg first for keeping a wounded car in 2nd when it had no business being in the top 6.

Ricciardo, winning a race in a Red Bull where Vettel doesn't retire? That's a solid day at the track. Enough said.

1. Ricciardo – A wonderful drive and the first non-Mercedes winner of 2014! Particularly unexpected at such a non Red Bull friendly track like Canada.
2. Perez – Accident aside, I would have never expected Perez to be up in 2nd with so few laps to go.

1. Perez: Was on fire all race, and had a chance at the lead late in the race. Shame about the crash though.

2. Riccardo: Kept his head cool, and drove his heart out to take a well deserved first win.

Honorable Mentions:

Rosberg: Getting that damaged Mercedes to the finish was quite an achievement.

Massa: In only he had a little more luck near the end.

Button: 4th in the McLaren!

2. Ricciardo If I was to pick someone I wanted to see get a first win, it was probably going to be him. Loved seeing that smile on the top step of the podium
