I'd love to say that the livery was my design, unfortunately, there are only 10 different variations of livery, and the decals remain the same on 9 of them. The all-white one has Mobil 1 on the Air intake, the rest have Castrol.

They're probably designed to slightly mimic the F1 season from 2004. But theres an All-Orange coloured one in the list :-S

However If there was a custom livery creator for the FGT04 , I would make the majority of it green, and depending on the nationality of the engine supllier, that would depend on the secondary colour, In this case an American engine if it was yellow.

I'm tempted to join up, but without having pitstops, the longest I can run is about 30% race distance to remain competitive.

Wait...I can turn off fuel use and tyre wear on f1 challenge so is that acceptable? If so I could run the full race distance! :D

Should allow steering help because anyone who doesn't have a force-feedback wheel might be in a spot of trouble without it on GP4.

Also, I find when I try to manually change down quickly under braking in that game, it automatically cuts the clutch continously in the whole way, causing my brakes to lock, and I leave half my front tires on the track. Is there any way around that (other than setting a manual clutch, I have nothing to use as one).

that's a point though, how are we going to regulate this? It will be obvious if anyone wins by a massive margin as their settings are all up way high and the opponents are driving around in the virtual equivalent of a forti. But what about the small things? Like what percentage strength am I setting the opponents on F1 Challenge 99-02? Plus all the driver aids...

This is going to take some organisation!

I'm a massive fan of F1 Challenge 99-02, and have about 2 years of making edits, tweaks and league mods for it. What i'm proposing is that I could make a mod that includes nothing but reject cars, either repainted liveries, or the actual cars themselves if they already exist in another mod. They would share the same engine and physics files to ensure fair competition, but just think of a Life competing with Andrea Moda and Mastercard Lola for a win :D

You might just convert me back to F1C from rFactor with that. The 1988 season is awesome on rFactor (Rial, EuroBrun, Coloni, Osella) but it's impossible to drive with a keyboard.

I have a wheel but it's old and has no force-feedback. You turn the steering help off with it, it's nearly impossible to get your turn-in right, because the speed you're going at doesn't effect the resistance on the wheel like in real life.

Doesn't GP4 make the cars' performance entirely dependant on setup once the player steps into it? ie. a Jordan and Minardi with the same set up will be equally competitive, and equally prone to under/oversteer in the hands of a human player? :?:
If not, I'm a lot better at that game than I thought, since I used to regularly mount championship challenges on high difficulty in a Sauber when I played it a lot.

I have to decide whether I want to be quick and accident prone with my steering wheel, or less accident prone and slower with my keyboard.

I'm confused as to why everyones announcing what car they are going to use when the rules were to rotate each car per driver per round,
Anyway here's my team name for F1 '06

FOTTS-r Motorsport

(Formula one two thousand and six reject motorsport)

Having decided to set up a career mode in HARD, I failed to get a seat at the lowest three teams on the grid, true reject i believe.

<UPDATE>

Restarted and landed seat #2 at Super Aguri for Bahrain...

Qualified 14th

Finished 12th at FULL-distance :)

Flyer off the start, up to 8th but Ralf Schumacher and Jenson Button found their way passed due to their more advanced machinery, Felipe Massa was trying his best to get past me on his first stint, no luck ;), blocked him at every angle possible.

At my first stop my team (or rather my lack of button pressing) messed up the first stop, spent my second stint fending off Nico Rosberg, who also had a habit of geting alongside me on the fastest points and then chickening out on completing the pass (damn ps2 AI).

Second stop was much better, no mistakes, and found myself in 13th position, with nobody to worry about behind me except Liuzzi who was the last driver on the same lap as me, and in dealing with the lapping leaders who also had overtake-itis, Liuzzi nearly caught up, only for him to retire.

In the last few laps my team mate Sato did a good job of holding up David Coulthard, just enough for me to get passed him for 12th, and with Klien a lap behind me, I finished the race ahead of BOTH Red Bulls!!

For Sepang I have been promoted to 1st driver, with Yuji Ide as my team mate :-S, damn this game for lack of imagination.

Rules

F1 Career Challenge (PS2)
Opposition Difficulty: Your choice
Race Length: 16 laps
Weather: Dry or Wet (depending on race)
Damage: Forgiving
Gears: Automatic or Manual
Tyre Wear & Fuel Use: On
FIA Rules: Realistic
Slipstreaming: Off

F106
Opponent AI: Your choice
Race Length: 30%
Damage: On
Fuel Use & Tyre Wear: Scaled
Component Failure: On
Weather: Sunny, Light Rain, Heavy Rain, Overcast (depending on race)
Penalties: On
Allowed Driving Aids: Stability Control, Anti Lock Brakes, Automatic Gearbox
Allowed Setup Options: Tyres, Fuel, Gear ratios, front and rear wing settings

Could someone please help with the rules for the PC games (GP4 & F1 Challenge '99-'02) as I do not own them and therefore, do not know what the options for rules/driving aids/settings for these games are.

Grand Prix 4 (PC)
Opposition Difficulty: Your choice
Race Length: 30%
Weather: Depends on race (I suggest that I'll take care of this  )
Damage: On
Faliures: All On
Allowed Aids: Auto Gearbox, Traction Control, Steering Help

I haven't followed this thread until now ... shame on me.

Didn't realise as a result that you guys were talking about using GP4. I still remember back in the mid-1990s Kuwashima putting me onto GP2, and then I've played GP3 and GP4 as well, but I haven't dusted off my GP4 and highly-dodgy steering wheel (bought from a market in Hong Kong) in AGES.

This might inspire me to make a De La Rosa/Badoer/Lammers-like comeback into GP4. However, I face a Campos/USF1-style race against time - second child due to be born sometime this week! :D

So can I submit my entry anyway for GP4:

SA-SGPA Racing ("Site Author - Senior Grand Prix Analyst Racing", which has the advantage of incorporating the initials of BOTH Super Aguri and Stefan GP)
#whatever we're up to - eytl
(actually, I know #13 is meant to be off the cards, but I don't mind taking 13 - it's a lucky number for the Chinese whereas 14, and any other number with a 4 in it, represents death)

But with the distinct possibility that I could do a USF1 and not appear until the fourth round of the season ... or, like AGS in 1986, perhaps not until the second half of the year ...

I would agree with this although I'd tend not to use auto gearbox, but since I might only be an irregular participant I won't argue ...

Can I still make it in the series as a sort of USF1-Campos Team (missing the first test sessions)? If so, here goes:

HHE-GPE (Hans Heyer-Esque Grand Prix Engineering)
Nicholas Nurmester (F1 Challenge '99-'02)

I think this rule set could be good for F1 Challenge:
Opposition Difficulty: 100%
Race Length: 30%
Weather: Whatever the race organizer (MinardiFan95) says
Damage: 100%
Failures: Time Scaled
Allowed Aids: Auto Gearbox, Traction Control, Steering Help, Stability Control (removable if you want so, I'm playing with a keyboard so it's pretty much a pain to drive without most of the driver aids)

Oh and may I suggest instead of steering help we have launch control. (It's an absolute b**** to get a good start on GP4 without it)

Cosworthless GP Engineering have recently launched their new car to the press at the F1 Rejects World Championship test session at Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.

We were lucky enough to score an interview with the owner and driver of the team, MinardiFan95

When was the decision made to contest the F1 Rejects Championship?
I actually organise the championship, so the decision was made when I first thought of the idea.

Do you think the other teams will be suspicious of your team because of this?
Only if we start winning!

We have had a look at the picture and the car looks a lot like a 2005 Minardi. We also noticed that the driver is wearing a white helmet. Does that mean you have signed The Stig to drive for you?
It looks like a 2005 Minardi because it IS a 2005 Minardi. Also, we haven't signed The Stig (and we don't plan on it) but we would be very happy if Perry McCarthy (the old Stig) would drive for us.

How do you rate your chances for this year?
I think that we will be consistant and judging on our testing times, we are on the pace. However, I don't think we will be fast in wet weather.

Who will be your main competitor(s) this year?
I think my main competitors will be kostas22 and ADx_Wales as they have been fast in testing.

Last Question; What are your goals for the season?
My goals for the season are to have fun and hopefully win a race.
This is a cool spot.

My racing simulator of choice tends to be GTR Evolution, SimBin's first expansion pack for Race 07. Incidentally, I believe I was one of the first people to actually review the game for a professional gaming site; I pretty much just bought it on release date, played it for about five days and had a review submitted shortly after.

The only Formula One game that I own is Grand Prix Legends, Papyrus' (in)famous simulation of the 1967 Formula One season. It's probably the most difficult game I've ever played, and I have a reputation for being able to beat the more difficult gaming titles out there. As a result, it tends to be the sort of game that I play if I want to feel a little bit humble; some day, I'll have to sit down and play it for long enough to be able to consistently finish laps without spinning out of control.

I do own a racing wheel, with force-feedback effects, which does make things easier, but it only has a 270-degree rotation, which is obviously a bit limited. That said, it works well enough for what I use it for, and I don't yet have the money to invest in a Logitech G27 or something like that.

Considering the amount of love for R Factor on this forum, I'm surprised that there wasn't an R Factor championship.
