Official 2016 Season Preview
2016 Formula 1 Season Preview - I Like To Move It
Technological advancement knows no limit in Formula One. This year marks the first step in creating racing cars faster than anything ever seen before in the history of motorsport. However, even the fastest cars in the world need to be driven first, before they can win races. 26 drivers want the world title, only one can have it.
Rule Changes:
- Additional technological gadgets may now be used by F1 teams this season: adjustable front and rear wings that may be used at any time during a lap as well as an adjustable suspension. Further technological advancement is planned for the 2018 season.
- The FIA has decided to only held one pre-season testing for 2016 (150 km at Jerez) in response to the high cost of developing the abovementioned tools. Another 250 km of testing will be taking place at a mid-season test, held at Silverstone National Circuit on September 5, before the European Grands Prix.
Season Calendar:
Marlboro Bahrain Grands Prix – Bahrain International Circuit – 27/28 February
Airtel Indian Grands Prix – Buddh International Circuit – 12/13 March
Caixa Brazilian Grands Prix – Circuito de Rua de Ribeirão Preto – 26/27 March

Storyline goes that DGN bought them at the end of 2014, and now they've been renamed.

Sponsorship Market
Sponsorship Market
You may now proceed to sign a main sponsor for your team in order to earn more money for the team.
There are two sponsors available for your team, which will pay you certain amounts of money, depending on which one of the four conditions your team fulfills:
Advancement Condition - These are the sponsors that have very specific demands regarding your results. This condition will pay out €90,000,000.
Nationality Condition - The sponsor will support you and demand a driver of a certain nationality be signed. This condition will pay out €45,000,000.
Statistic Condition - The sponsor will support you and very specific demands regarding the achievements of one of your driver. This condition will pay out €30,000,000.
No Condition - The sponsor will support you without asking for anything but a spot on your car. This condition will pay out €15,000,000.
Any driver demands go for one year and are only fulfilled if the designated driver is having a full-time drive. You may sign a driver meeting the demands for longer than that, but it will not assure you sponsorship for the next seasons. Please note that if you fail to meet the Advancement Condition, you will have to pay the entire sum back to the company. No team needs to agree to the Advancement Condition to survive, any team that would is declared bankrupt. For the other conditions, you must not decide on the condition right now, the money for whatever condition you fulfill will be added to your account after you have signed your drivers. Further note that age-related clauses mean "age at the first race of the F1 season" (February 27, 2016). Furthermore, the new teams in- and out-of-character (DGN, Haas, Precision, Mansell, Calinetic) need to pick a pair of numbers. You may pick any consecutive numbers from 5-120 (with the exception of 13 and 17) that is not yet taken by a different team. In case of conflict over a pair of numbers, I will decide which team gets which. Since the highest possible number has been moved, older teams may also change their numbers to ones between 81-120, if they can provide an in-character reason for doing so.
For these two elements, please fill out this formula until October 27, 3:00 p.m. CEST

Well, for now it's not important. The basic content was that you needed to pick a team in case either fmecha or RDD fail to do so. This hasn't happened, so there is no hurry.
Still, to prevent this type of issue in the future I would like everyone on the waiting list to provide me with a mail address to directly contact them.
Remember guys, the deadline to pick sponsors and numbers (if needed) is tomorrow, so hurry.

Re: Alternate F1 - The Current Era - 2016 Season
Car Market
Here's the Price table
>> Step 1: Buying an engine
With Hyundai leaving F1 and the entry of Judd, we have four manufacturers available for your choice if you happen to be a customer team. I will explain the columns:
Company should be self-explainatory. The type of engine describes, whether you are purchasing a V10 NA engine or an I4 turbo engine and BHP states its power in qualifying and race. CFP means Car Failure Probability, i.e. it's a fancy term for reliability. The higher it is, the more likely your car is to retire from a race. With the engine freeze, the engine performanc is locked for the next two seasons.
From now on you purchase your engines from the works teams, i.e. you negotiate the engine deal with the user owning the works team. These are as follows:
Ferrari - pasta_maldonado
Judd - kevinbotz
Mercedes - wizzie
Peugeot - phoenix
What is important for the works teams is the value Average Price on the price sheet found in the opening post. This is the average price you must meet for all engines you sell (both to customers team and to yourself). You may sell some above that price or below that price, but the average stays the same. For every million you take in over the average, your engine get -50 CFP (capped at -750 CFP). For every million you are below the average, your engine gets +400 CFP (capped at +12800 CP) - this value applies to all customers, not only those that pay too much/too little. You may also name clauses your customers (or the works team) must fulfill, whilst also determining contract length. Each manufacturers is limited to three customer teams (not including the works team itself).
>> Step 2: Developing a chassis
Explaining the columns as well: Upgrades replace testing (to a point, there will be one mid-season test - this time for real), the upgrades are in the right top of the table. Updates can be applied at any time from after the first weekend until the day before the start of the final GP weekend of the season. Upgrades will only be applied before the start of the next weekend and you may only apply one upgrade per weekend. Furthermore note that half of the upgrades you do not use are carried over to the next season. You may never have more than three upgrades more than your chassis type permits. The lower chassis have a higher number of possible upgrades to counter the fact that the higher chassis types are more expensive. Max Grip determines the highest amount of grip possible, your car won't have more grip than that value, no matter what, even if you had HWNSNBM himself driving the vehicle. An RNG will determine that value once you have decided on a chassis type. CFP is the same as with engines - the lower the number the more likely your car is to finish.
>> Step 3: Arranging brothels
Explaining the columns for the third time: Max Grip increases the max grip value of your chassis for the last third of the season. Range is the value that is added on to the Random Grip Range, i.e. the value used by the game to determine inconsistency. The higher that value, the more likelier your driver is to have a bad day. Unlike last season, you must make your brothel selection before the start of the year and may not change it.
Alright, please fill out this until Thursday, October 30 (4:15 p.m. CET) and post it in this thread. Once you have posted the data, editing your post is forbidden unless I allow you to:
Please note that I need a confirmation of the works team that an agreement has been reached. Please make sure the users controlling the works team takes care of that. If you have any questions, go ahead and ask.
After purchasing chassis, engine and brothels, your team must only be so far in debt that you are able to get back into the black numbers after the sponsorship clause has been added after the driver market.
Furthermore, note that if you have not posted your choices until the deadline, your spot will be taken by a user from the waiting list.

Since DGN are listed as having a Judd engine on the market, I assume that kevinbotz has already confirmed our agreement?

Indeed he has, all current Judd teams are fine in that regard.

You're such a prude. Grow up.
You might as well start planning for your fourth F1 team, whilst you're at it. What's next?
