Re: Pass the puzzle.
What do you mean by succesful-drivers-to-rejects-ratio? Is more successful drivers what we're looking for, or more rejects, or a balance of the two?

Yeah, i realize i worded it poorly. what i meant was what country has the most succesfull drivers in comparison to rejects. i.e how many race winners/world champions a country has to rejects (okay, rejects isnt a good word either as there are drivers which are neither... so let me reiterate)
Which country has the biggest percentage of race winners/world champions out of drivers who have participated in f1.

Off the top of my head it'll be a three way contest between Great Britain, Australia and Finland. I'm going with Finland but not by much

Is #2 Brawn GP?
Other than that, no clue at all.
With my own quick math yeah, with Mercedes Grand Prix being a close no.2.
Mercedes Grand Prix? 0 entries 0 victories? Divide 0 by 0 and it becomes infinity?

How many reject F1 drivers (and name them) have won a race in a proper current (at the time) F1 car?
(Excludes all cars and drivers that only raced in the Indy 500 when it was part of the early F1 championship)
Here's one question which I believe people attempted but no definitive answer was given to. Was Desire Wilson the only answer or was there somebody else too?
Nope there are at least half a dozen! However just checking as there are lots of races that have had F1 cars (esp during the 50s and 60s) so having to make sure they are F1 cars rather then F2, F5000, F Atlantic, Tasman series, etc cars... will post the answer at the end of the month!
Looking forward to the well-researched answer!

2,3&4 good shout. Lichtenstein only has von Opel so that at least is a 100% reject ratio. The says best successful to reject ratio so Finland must have a shot with Mika Keke & Kimi also note the nationality of the questioner. After Finland Brazil might have shout but 2 many rejects along the way?

I see the problem here...I didn't see the word 'successful' in Quesiton 1
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
It depends how 'successful' is defined? Is this just non-reject drivers, or a specific group? (e.g champions)
If its just non-rejects I think it would be:
Poland
Thailand
India
Otherwise not a clue

Yes it needs re-defining as I also thought it was not clear. Think those three also a good shout if it is non-reject drivers. As the term non-reject was used in the Q a court would take the view that Kostas interpretation is correct.

See guys? I redefined it all right!
But for answers:
1: Finland tops the table with 3 world champions and 1 racewinner out of 8, giving a ratio of 1:2 or 50%
Second is Sweden with 3 race winners out of 9 drivers, giving a ration of 1:3 or 33.3%
Colombia ties with Sweden but loses due to having less overrall drivers with 1 winner out of 3 drivers.
2: This one depends on whether you count races as I typed or entries, as if you go by entries, its Brawn GP with a ratio of 23.4% or roughly 1:4 (8 wins out of 34 entries)
But as I said races, its easily the OLD Mercedes GP of the fifties with 9 wins out of 12 races giving a whopping 75% race win percentage and a 2:3 ratio.
3: it's TAG with a record of 25 wins out of 68 GP's, giving a ratio of 36,7% or 1:3
(Climax might also be quite up there with its 40 wins but I can't get a reliable count on their total amount of GP's so...)
4: Continental wins this easily with 10 wins out of 13 GP's giving a ratio of 76,9& or 2:3

Woo, Continental to be the new suppliers when Bridgestone leave! I remember their advert during the Champions League football matches where a cannon would fire a ball at a goalie, he'd make a save, and the ball would stick to his glove because it was made out of Continental types (they've got grip, eh?).

Both engines were rebadged customer engines made by manufacturers that also made engines under their own name?
Edit: oh, no, that can't be it, because in 1997 the Renault engine in the Benetton were still called Renault. Unless you screwed up, and thinking Berger retired after 1998 when they were Playlife.

In the first 3 yrs of their careers Berger drove BMW t/c4 engined cars for 3 different teams, & Larini drove Cosworth V8/Alfa t/cV8/Cosworth V8 for 2 different teams. But it also involves 'the first few years of their careers'...clearly a piece of the puzzle is still missing.
And it also specifically said the last year of their careers...and Larini didn't finish on the podium in '97!

Can only surmise that the same designer/builder had a hand in all the engines. But I can't really be arsed to look it up. The only name that comes to mind is Brian Hart but I'm pretty certain it wasn't him. (Was it?)
