Thanks for the good times F1 Rejects

In light of Enoch's announcement, (and without saying this is the end) I would like to suggest that the admin's start a sticky thread somewhere on the forums, for people to post their appreciation of F1 Rejects, Jamie, and Enoch. Here's the first one:

Guys, I am saddened to learn that the future of F1 Rejects is uncertain at this time. Regardless I want to let you know that the laughter and memories generated by you two over the last decade will last forever. As a racing fan that only caught on to F1 in 2002, your podcasts are the biggest factor in my F1 education (love to hang that diploma on the wall )

There are so many favourite snippets of the podcast I can recall clearly, even my young children would walk around back in the day saying "Yeeeessss, weelll indeed Jamie . . ." Now that they are teenagers I question the wisdom of playing the podcasts for bedtime stories . . . . . .explains a lot.

Your interaction with the community through listener mail and the forums made the world seem a much smaller place, and in an unconventional way you guys were sort of like old friends in the hobby. You were more than celebrities or entertainers to the Rejectista of this world.

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks, and that your work both writing and recording is hugely appreciated, not mourned.

I feel that F1Rejects can be the type of thing that could outlast its makers. I know all things must come to an end some day, hopefully not all at the same time and after other things come into fore, but as long as the rejects spirit is out there and very much alive (this forum), it is hard to let it go, regardless the importance of Enoch (can't thank him enough). With you and Nuppiz taking care of the forum, F1Rejects community already tested its resilience during the Big October Crisis. The mere existence of the chat proved it too. As for the podcasts, I very much understand if Jamie feels that without Enoch podcasts don't make sense any more. Though that, given time, should be phased out to other people too. Much like the Senior Grand Prix Analyst position. We have plenty of competent people in the forum. We just have to let them fly. Will podcasts be the same? Obviously no, but then again that is what changes mean and eventually people can grow into the job returning the podcasts to a new, also enjoyable, form.

I am flattered by your compliment but I speak English quite poorly which automatically rules me out, never mind my F1 knowledge. But I would listen to one in which you participate.

Yes, yes I did. And I still have the recordings somewhere in my PC. You just need to talk Biscione into editing the segments and release the podcast!

I would like to put forward my thanks to Enoch and Jamie as well. I have been an f1 fan all my life and have enjoyed being a reject fan since before I knew it was a thing. Me and my dad always enjoyed supporting minardi and arrows.

I remember finding the podcast during the 2007 season on iTunes and then getting routed to the website that way. I was blown away that there was people covering the issues that they were. Needless to say I binged through the back catalogue and eagerly awaited all new material. It never failed to make me laugh and really enjoy geeking out and laughing at jokes that none of my friends would get.

Not only did you enhance my love of motor sport but also opened me up to the world of podcasts which now takes up almost all my commuting time.(not just yours!)

Without wanting to sound too emotional I really would like to put my heartfelt thanks out there to both you guys for all of your effort, especially doing this basically for free. I did have a go at this kind of thing myself and it is hard, especially with a job and a life to maintain.

I wish you all the best with whatever has meant you have had to stop and just to let you know that you have my support.

I really hope you have enjoyed making this half as much as I have enjoyed listening/reading over the years, I will check back occasionally in case the situation changes.

Anyway, I hope that you get to read this and once again thank you very much for your enthusiasm and passion over the years.

I'm extremely sad that it went this way. It will never be the same, but maybe we can make something decent out of it, that honours the original F1 Rejects.

Anyway, I have been following F1 Rejects since about 2003 and this might sound a bit overly sentimental, but it really feels like a part of my life. I will miss Jamie and Enoch's podcasts, a lot.

Jamie and Enoch, I give you many thanks for the detailed biographies offered on the site, which really offer a wealth of information on the more obscure names in the sport's history, this forum, which really is the best one I have encountered on the internet, and of course the excellent podcast that you two put together, my favourite aspect of the site, and it will be very sad knowing there won't be any more.

Your passion for Formula One and especially its less successful figures really shone through with this website, and I do hope that it will be back up and running again sometime in the near future.

I am not an active forum user here, but I will say that I am really looking forward to having the site back up, however long it takes. It is after all, one of the best F1 resources on the Internet regardless of future content. Keeping it going in some form or another would be great in any case.

The end of the podcast as we know it is of course a sad affair. I will say as an avid listener of podcasts in general (not just F1, but of many different subjects) that this one was the only one of which I would not miss a single episode since finding it.

As far as I can see, Jamie has not yet revealed what his plans are regarding the future of the site, so I suppose that all we can do right now is to wait and see. Hopefully we can have some more answers soon.

Enoch and Jamie, if this is the end, it has been one hell of a ride. All it took was a slight scratch of the surface to see past the "reject schtick" (pat. pend.) to see the red-hot passion and the deep knowledge you expressed.

Your podcast was always a "stop everything, listen to this now" event. I am not talking just F1 podcasts, not motorsport podcasts, but any podcast.

Regardless of the reason as to the hiatus, I hope that things work out for the best for everyone.
