They do, to be fair.

If one of you guys can post pictures, would you do so for comparison... and then nip down to that famous high street opticians?

I knew immediately it was Nick, I wouldn't mistake either of them, being the massive Pink Floyd fan that I am, but having said that, there is something of a resemblance:

Yeah I can see a similarity: they both play the drums.

Ferrari strategists - leaving Raikkonen out too long before his last stop cost him a chance of victory.

Only in hindsight. Nobody could've forseen Hamilton's braking troubles in the last couple laps. And Raikkonen I think was close to the shelf life of the soft tyre as it was anyway.

Raikönnen's pace advantage was melting away; it went from over 2 seconds per lap at the beginning of his last stint to about half a second at the end (when Hamilton was running ~1 sec per lap slower due to not wanting to explode his brake discs). if Hamilton hadn't had the brake issue then Kimi probably would have stopped gaining about 2 laps from the end.

Whilst Renault once again suffered during the race with yet more failures, and vettel having an off day, these can not make up to being reject of the race.

Surely reject of the race must be something either really inexcusable, pathetic, or bizarre enough to be so bad but also at times comical for their actions - take Ericsson for his silly spin off in Malaysia, or the marshals in their attempt at moving Verstappen's car in china.

In this case, surely the award must go to Pastor Maldonado, for whilst on warm up lap, suffering momentary amnesia and forgetting where he had actually qualified for the race. Perhaps he wasn't used to qualifying so high up the grid at 16th that he just naturally took position at 18th instead.... There was even a longer pause than normal for the lights to start to signify the start of the race, possibly as an opportunity for Maldonado to realise his mistake and move forward to the correct grid slot? Either way, seemingly under no pressure to do so and no one around him missing their grid slot (Massa was 6th and had no impact on proceedings around him), this kind of action may just be typical Maldonado, but is also as rejectful as anything else during the race.

Kate Walker is a late contender for Reject Of The Race.

Who? And why? Something tells me this opinion piece won't be finding too many fans on this site.

I think the conspiracy theory part of this is a bit far-fetched - I'd be interested in other opinions.
I've already posted on here about the poor coverage of the event - cutting to anything but the track sometimes when there was clearly something good going on on it.
I think some race directors have got so used to strategy winning races that they instinctively favour the pits because something happening there might have a greater bearing on the outcome than anything on track.

I've never read anything by Kate Walker and thought "yeah, I agree with this". She doesn't strike me as a bona-fide F1 fan at all, it's more like she got a free paddock pass in a box of Coco Pops on the condition that she write a blog for ESPN. All she does is complain about the small teams are a waste of space because they don't serve nice glasses of chardonnay or whatever.

It's really poor journalism; fine, it's a bit different compared to other blogs because she talks more about the hospitality side of things, but there's journalists out there far better who are struggling to get event passes or even accreditations.

I think we're all stuck in a paradox of some sort here.

We are a site that celebrates the minnows and failures of Formula 1. We complain when someone makes a comment or opinion piece about elitism. And yet, isn't that the founding principle and continued theme of the sport? Something that started out as a hobby for the super-rich and famous, and has evolved into a business that is funded by the super-rich and famous. Was it ever intended for the consumption of the mere proletariat?

But then I feel awkward for defending elitism. I am not a fan of making the 1% and the 99% ever more separate. So why am I Formula 1 fan to begin with, if that is the sentiment which most embodies the sport? In a way, it makes no sense whatsoever. No wonder Bernie came after us, we aren't the target market for his Formula 1 brand whatsoever. He probably hates us for shedding light on the less professional and slick side of the sport.

Why am I here? My head hurts :?

check out the Live at Pompeii video for 'One Of These Days', there is a bit where the stick falls out of his hand, however he is able to keep the beat going and replace it without it affecting the music. (around 4.43) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw1643T0RD0

Neil Peart is damn awesome though and family guy agree https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6lgMBiiFnw

Oh crikey, erm, seems I haven't appointed an ROTR.

Thus, I shall give it to Renault, for somehow managing to go backwards into oblivion, arguably even behind the much maligned Honda unit.

And if Barcelona will bring McLaren higher the grid with Renault breaking down yet again, they will slowly raise the bid for a ROTY as well...
