Re: Reject of the Race - Italy 2015
Seem many nominations for the FIA but this is for the RACE, not stuff that happens either side of it. Granted, the FIA should be more clear on what they are doing. In regards to Mercedes' tyre pressures, if they're below the legal limit (or whatever the term is) then the cars should be DQ'd. It's a rule, break them and pay the concequences.
Also, why penalize Verstappen for something he has no control over? The penalty should be a reprimand against the team, a fine for the team or in serious cases, docked points.
As the ROTR, it a toss-up between Lotus and Raikkonen. The former for their first lap retirements and the latter for blowing what should've been a double Ferrari podium.

This is an awfully simplistic attitude, one incompatible with the ethos of the fine tolerances required in Formula 1. One cannot force punishments down the throat of teams when the only reason a rule breach was found was due to incorrect procedures on the part of the FIA delegates attempting to enforce the rules.
All the teams go to extreme lengths to run as close to tolerance as possible, to maximise there performance of their cars without breaching the rules. It's a bit insulting that the FIA doesn't similarly go to these lengths in verifying and enforcing these same measurements. You cannot demand the highest standards possible and then be careless on your own end.
The FIA has done this many times before. 2013's Testgate especially comes to mind, as they authorised via word of mouth a Pirelli tyre test which, according to the language in the contract between the FIA and Pirelli, should have been legal, and yet the FIA had never actually gotten around to updating the sporting regulations to account for it. Their answer, instead of addressing their own mistake and giving leniency to those involved, was to throw Mercedes and Pirelli under the bus.
At least on this occasion, the FIA saw the mistake had been made on their end, and acted accordingly. People might like to talk about how a terrible precedent has been set, that you can run components under tolerance and get away with it - but that's complete nonsense. Those people simply don't understand the circumstances that led to the dismissal of the purported technical infringement.

Well, how heavily had the FIA imposed this particular rule? If this was something that was quickly rushed into practice BECAUSE of Mercedes' tyre pressures then your right, you can't force rules and procedures if they're not made clear in the first place.
However, the FIA really needs to 'sit down' and discuss every possible rule that can be bent/broken and make final decisions on how they should be dealt with. The FIA have come into some slack this season for strange and wild penalties for things that have either been thought up and imposed 'on the fly'.

My nominations:
Lotus' Luck - After Grosjean said he could be on the podium again, to have both cars out on the first lap must have been a very bitter pill to swallow.
George Lucas - What the bloody hell was that?! "Happy New Year"? It is August you miserable heap of slime..... Worst Podium interview for a long time.

Oh, reading back, I realise that I did not mean that I agreed with the miserable heap of slime bit, but the whole point that I didn't think it was new year generally. But now I just seem anti-Semitic.

Relax, just because you didn't know about it doesn't mean you should be considered anti-Semitic. At least if we're all being sensible...

I don't think you're alone in not knowing that. I didn't either. I thought that George Lucas was just trying to be funny (and thus reinforcing the old adage that writing jokes should be left to the professional comedians).

I am also guilty of this, and I got the month wrong. I am really not winning today. Deepest apologies to all involved, I can assure all of you I am not a neo-nazi or anti-semitic in any way. I was not aware he was Jewish. I do wish Mr. Lucas had said "Happy Jewish New Year" to avoid the confusion, much like we say "Chinese New Year" for Chinese New Year. I am extremely embarrassed now and in future will only comment on things concerning Hart, Judd and pre-1995 Ilmor engines. I have shamed myself.

Re: Reject of the Race - Italy 2015
Guys, George Lucas isn't Jewish
I only posted the Jewish New Year thing because I saw it on Wikipedia and thought it might offer some logical explanation for it. As for why I really think he did it, Fetzie pretty much explained it, he was probably just trying to be funny. I tend to write "Happy New Year" in birthday cards because... I don't do conventional greetings cards
So LovelyFondmetal, dr-baker, there's no need to feel like you're being anti-Semitic (I didn't even remotely interpret your comments that way), no-one has shamed themselves here (except for me probably for creating this situation)![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

OK, so let's just wish Chanoch Nissany and Jody Schekter a Happy New Year then!

In which case, let's also add Roy Nissany and Tomas Schekter, sons of the aforementioned drivers!
