Re: 1998 CART Championship - Motegi up!
I will ask the Forsythe owner (CarloSpace) to get in touch with me as due to their poor financial situation I am willing to give them some performance-related driver perks to try and help them get their finances on track.

I have to express my reservations about this. If a team manager can't manage their own finances, that's not the problem of the series organiser. If you just go spend spend spend without thinking about how much money's in your next paycheck and when you're gonna get it, that's not anyone's fault but your own.

I agree 100%. We took risks with spending and we are soon paying the price if we keep on being rejectful.
We absolutely refuse to get any kind of help from the organisers and if we (or any other team) do I will resign with immediate effect.

I shall thus withdraw my offer and let Forsythe continue on their own.

Re: 1998 CART Championship - Motegi up!
As a small single-car team, Della Penna would like to know whether upgrade prices are scaled on a pro-rata basis before committing to upgrades

Re: 1998 CART Championship - Long Beach up!
Round 3 - 1998 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach - results
Pole: Tony Stewart
FLap - P.J. Jones
DNQ - Gualter Salles, Max Papis
Driver of the race: Tony Kanaan - again pushing the boundaries for AAR and would’ve finished 4th if he didn’t retire.
Reject of the race -Max Papis- more like Max Papls / Bryan Herta - slow as hell and a lazy spin summed up his afternoon.
Note: Zonta is listed as Della Penna in game, not Bettenhausen because of GP2's 14-team limit this is the best compromise I can do. Robby Gordon 'drives' for Walker instead of Tasman for the same reason.

Onwards and upwards. Only direction from here is down. Progress has not been at a Walker's pace...

Autosport wrote:Rahal to return at Detroit
Rahal team owner and lead driver Bobby Rahal, who suffered a large accident at Motegi, has opted to miss the next 4 races over health concerns. Potential replacements include Scott Pruett, who raced at Long Beach, but his performance, qualifying last and running at the back before retiring leaves much to be desired. Other drivers have notified the team of their availability.
So Rahal need to choose a new driver to race until Detroit.
Re: 1998 CART Championship - Long Beach up!
Rahal will try their luck with Christian Fittipaldi.

DNQ. Davey Hamilton - Hogan-Sw Ford
Nazareth was a Honda-dominated affair, with only retirements allowing the Ford-powered cars to score as many points as they did. Montoya took his 2nd pole, but fell back before his late retirement. Greg Moore thus dominated to give a large boost to the cash-strapped Forsythe squad, with Franchitti giving Newman-Haas something to take away. Robby Gordon's consistency keeps him in the lead of the championship, and Rahal are slowly gaining their form back with their 2nd points of the season curtesy of super-sub Christian Fittipaldi. Max Papis bounced back from his DNQ at Long Beach to score his squad some points, whilst Penske were anonymous all race. Alex Zanardi has finally scored points, but a title defence is looking like an increasingly unlikely proposition.

Upgrades
You can now post your upgrades here. This time the upgrades are a lot bigger (they have a range of 500 instead of 200) so it pays off more here to maximize them now. Same rules as last time apply; if you didn't understand them, the way it works is that each manufacturer has certain areas that can be upgraded (Chassis has handling, drag and grip; engine has qualifying and race power; tyres have qualifying and race grip, which all affect performance in some way - all 3 have reliability upgrades which do what it says on the tin - and the chassis and tyres have a random grip range upgrade; which basically decides how much a driver is gonna change race - a high RGR means that 1 race they can dominate it and win by miles - next race they finish last and get lapped 1,000,000 times) and they are decided in a range of -200 to 500 and then RNG'ed to decide how many 'points' the upgrades are, and then I times the combined value by 500 to get the price apart from engine power which I times by 20,000. (It basically works like the Alt-78 upgrades)
And so the company upgrade responsibility list remains broadly the same as last time (if you want to give the upgrading duties to someone else you can do). You have until the end of next Friday 2nd March 2018 to do so.
Confirmed Unconfirmed
Reynard - TheFlyingCaterham
Honda - Reject_Dom
Swift - thor97
Ford - Bandon23
Penske/Mercedes - Gonzalez (Penske is like the only team that uses them anyways)
Eagle - This Could Be You
Firestone - TomDilain
Goodyear - CarloSpace
If you have any questions (or you want something further explaining) then please post.

As a recommendation, you can get live commentary of all the races on the Mibbit Chatroom (plus it's easier to get in touch with me there for any queries you may have), but if you don't want to you don't have to, and you can expect Gateway to be on Saturday. Cheerio!

Re: 1998 CART Championship - Upgrades up!
Do individual teams have to pay if they want their individual equipment upgraded? If not, how is this being applied?
