After the 2017 season, the World Touring Car Championship collapsed in a haze of spiralling costs and shrinking grids. This left a gap in the calendar for a world-class touring car series, and two rival series emerged to fill that breach. The first was the World Touring Car Cup, which emerged as an FIA-backed upgrade to the TCR International Series, while the second concept was altogether more innovative.
Borrowing aspects of the WTCC, World Rallycross Championship and short-lived A1GP series, the International Touring Car Championship (which is in no way related to the '90s series of that name), will take touring car racing to short circuits, for weekends packed with short, sharp, exciting races.
Please feel free to start signing up for teams, but also be aware that there's a reason I'm never going to be allowed anywhere near the canon section.
