Oh yeah. It's back.
The series that had every single car go upside down in Macau. The series that had a winning margin of 0.004 seconds. The series that saw all quad-bikes run out of fuel on a roval. The series that saw an AI win.
We're back, baby
RULES
For those that don't know, thanks to the power of rFactor 2 magic, for each race I will...
-- I will RANDOMLY pick the car
-- I will RANDOMLY pick the track.
-- I will RANDOMLY generate one condition this race would be run under.
**NEW FOR THIS SEASON** -- One RANDOM driver will be assigned one RANDOM scenario per race.
It's all random. Any race can have anything happen. F1 cars on a quarter-mile oval? Check. Remote Control cars around an airport? Check. Quadbikes on a roval? We already did that. Now with more tracks, more cars, and a wider set of race conditions, let's see what other crazy races this can cook up.
Oh, and the random driver scenarios, right. Each race, the wheelspin will decide one random scenario for a random driver for the upcoming race. It could be anything from "[Driver] contracted Fisichellitis. -10 in Qualifying & Race Skill if car number is below #10." to "[Driver] tries out Franck Montagny's patented smelling salts, only that those white flakes weren't salts. +50 Aggression." or something like that (inspired by Cutzy's YSL series on Youtube, check it out btw)
The cool thing about this, I have a few written down, but apart from that, I'll let you make up your own scenarios. Could affect anything, from the driver skill, effects of race results, his relations with other drivers, anything and everything. Try to follow the above template, though I'll allow for tons of flexibility wherever possible.
The good old 12-9-7-5-4-3-2-1 points system with a point for Fastest Lap and Pole Position remains the same as the last season, good to know that sticks.
Also, for this season, don't expect those crazy long imgur albums or frequent races. I'm at uni right now without rFactor 2 on my laptop, so races will be a bit...rushed over the weekends. There'll still be nice race reviews, maybe a few quick pics, but nothing too crazy like last season. I'm expanding the calendar to 11 races, but expect more time between these races.
SIGNUPS
Signups are basically the same as last year's, where user can enter 1 or 2 cars (please two), but for those new here or who just forgot, here's the sitch:
Section 1 -- AI Skill
rFactor 2 AI has six main settings for determining an AI driver's skill. There are more factors involved, but I feel these are the six main factors that affect it as such..
Aggression -- Higher value means your driver loves to engage in divebombs, crazy overtakes or just adopt more risk.
Speed -- Overall pace of your driver during the race.
Qualifying Speed -- Overall pace of your driver in qualifying
Wet Speed -- Overall pace of your driver in Stormy Daniels weather.
Start Skill -- When the green flag falls or the lights go out, this determines how quickly your driver takes off
Min Racing Skill -- Say your driver has a bad, bad lap. This determines how BAD that bad lap can possibly be.
Again, like last year, I won't ask you for a set of precise values. Instead, there will be categories that will determine how good your driver is...
Ultra Pro: -- Your driver's BEST attribute. Only 1 attribute allowed. Will be rated at a random value of 70-80 in game.
Average Pro: -- An attribute your driver is good at, but not great. Only 1 attribute allowed, rated 60-70
Average Joe: -- Yeah, your driver's pretty average at this. TWO attributes, rated 50-60. Not needed in the signup form, but just FYI.
Average No: -- Your driver kinda lags behind the rest of the field in this attribute. ONE attribute, rated 40-50
Ultra No: -- NO. Your driver...just NO in this category. ONE attribute, rated 30-40
Section 2: Specialty
Each racing driver has their own specialty, as you'd expect. I mean, you wouldn't expect Seb Loeb to be a fantastic F1 driver and, likewise, Vettel would do particularly poor at rallying. So, while signing up, each driver has to be assigned a specialty. Only kink here, last season, there was just one Specialty. This season, there are two.
The Special Vehicle to your driver is, obviously, the one your driver is most adept to driving. The categories remain unchanged from last season, with Touring Cars, Sportscars, Open-Wheel, Historic and Others being the selection of cars on show.
The new addition for this season, though, is the Special Track. It's highly dependent on which circuit your driver would feel comfortable around. If your driver loves tight confines, concrete walls and fighting on the streets, he might belong in a prison, or his special track could be a Street Circuit. If your driver is blander than bread or believes the earth isn't round, he'd be comfortable on a Flat Autodrome. Some drivers love curves, peaks and undulations, and not just in their woman, but on Hilly Circuits as well. Some people only know how to turn left and go straight, which may mean Ovals are their special category. And there are some sadistic people that'd rather crash into straw bales, railway bridges or spectator stands than a plush tyre barrier. Apart from a hospital, these insane people belong on a Historic circuit. Finally, there's the rarified few that prefer an Off-Road circuit, but be warned. There's a very small selection of Off-Road tracks, which makes picking one difficult, but should it just so happen to be an off-road circuit, you'd be in luck.
Should your driver(s) get their Special Vehicle, they get a performance boost. Their special track? Another performance boost. BOTH? Hell yeah for you, oh no for the rest of the field. Unless driver scenarios keep you in check. I dunno. Some tracks or cars also have split categories, like Rovals, where performance boosts aren't as high, but be aware of all that.

Gonna expand the entry list to 26 this season, but be cautious. For tracks with minimal garage spots (and there's quite a few I added in with such), there WILL be DNQ's (or DNS's as I dunno how to DNQ people in rF2). So yeah.
