New team.......... How hard can it be?
Greetings forum
I may have just stared posting my *cough* views *cough* but i have been an avid reader and fan of f1 rejects ever since i was looking for Andrea montermini web site back in 04 or may be 05 (some one correct me if im wrong if this site wasnt up in those years). since hen i have taken comfort that i am not the only one that have the fondness of reject teams and drivers (except for mr montermini, who has the coolest last name i think) and i thought it was time that i started contributing my *cough* opinions *cough*.
Anywho....
Ive just read from my favorite fiction site crash.net that the FIA are starting to look fro new team apps for 2011. having read that i have decided to officially announce on CRASH and F1REjs that i will enter the 2011 grand prix season. I have started constructing my r&d dept in my bedroom and i am currently put a deposit in for a bigger fan from bunnings for my wind tunnel located in my backyard. I am aware that in the wake of usf1 failed attempt that new teams aren't gonna be taken as serious as before. I have addressed this by already have in a complete scale model ready and improvements are already in place since my last climate testing (carried out in the oven).
To show that im not being a windsor i will post photos of my progress and news updates to prove that a team will form and will be on the grid in 2011.
I hope i can get followers for support as i am confident that *Team Surprise Buttsecks F1* makes a serious step in getting to F1.
Also i encourage all to also create a team for themselves. And lets help Bernie in this what struggling time with his little car club event.

Mr., I have experience with Gran Turismo, and according to Whole Spanish Press I'm bound for the Hispania reserve driver role. It'd be a pleasure if you gave me a seat as titular driver for the next season.
If not, the ire of the Whole Spanish press will fall on you...

Are you keen on merging your team with mine? I already have a basic car and two drivers, as you can see here:

Thanks Luca and Phoenix for your offers i would have to decline with your merger deal only because Ive just now invested high tech state of the art lunch room featuring a usf1 toaster. Plus i have also employed Dr. Steven Hoefflin as "sectional" chief designer hes main area of the car is the nose ( previous works include Micheal Jackson *snap) so with that experience all the other teams will be kicking themselves for letting this guy slip thru their fingers.
I got him cheap as well something about spending time in a insane asylum and the fact he'd impressed me in the interview for his smart dress sence what with his white jacket and slippers (such a style renagade), and the fact he was also happy to be in a place where there was no bars on the windows. Its a smart acquisition by SBS F1.
As for drivers im currently in talks with a driver who had a full yr experience in f1. but for the sake of free publicity but the spanish media i will consider you as a driver as long as the paper makes a new report every 3rd day even thou nothing new has happened in the past 3 months ( im looking at you crash).
any wayne. i have to leave this for today as my middle east testing has now completed and it now a case of where i left the scale modle in the sand bo..i mean environment test bed.

FIA launches 2011 team selection process
Starting yesterday and until the 15th of April, the FIA is accepting team applications for 2011, to replace USF1's slot. The FIA will select a 13th team and a backup team. USF1 is free to apply for 2011, but it's very unlikely that they'll get it.
Here's the criteria:
-the technical ability and resources of the team
-the ability of the team to raise and maintain sufficient funding to allow participation
-the team's experience and human resources
-the FIA's assessment of the value that the candidate may bring to the championship as a whole
So, who do you want?![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

USF1, clearly is a favorite. But you're right, they've got a snowballs chance in hell of getting a slot. Stefan may have every-so-slightly greater chances, but probably not worth mentioning. Prodrive don't seem to care (shame, i'd love to see Subaru F1 ;P) VW rumours don't seem to die...or grow. I'm at a loss really, who knows? It'll be some group of people none of us have heard of likely, like every year.
This is also assuming all the current teams continue on next season, which is, while hopeful, unlikely. Renault, for example, is already on the rocks. I'll stress this is an allegation, so take it for what it's worth I suppose, but this begs a question.
If, for example, one of the current teams does not make the 2011 grid, do the 13th slot winner, as well as the 13th slot back up team get an entry?
"Grosjean has a great desire to turn around and look at the corner he's just gone through, too many times per lap or per session, he's always spinning that Renault"
Re: FIA launches 2011 team selection process
Aston Martin/Prodrive - though they could be more reticent this time after failing last year to get a spot, and the fact that they're tasked with the Mini WRC project that could be happening next year...
Whether they have the capacity to run a LMS team, WRC and the other projects they have I'm not sure, but they are probably the best pure racing team outside F1 in the world now. They remind me of McLaren a little bit, in their professionalism and slight Teutonic-ness...
Epsilon Euskadi - Should be there instead of HRT anyway... a proven constructor (ok not the best cars, but well put together and quick) and an ambitious squad, obviously looking to the likes of Prodrive as a model...
Lola - Rejuvenated constructor, proven quality (look at LMP2, every other car is a Lola), still harbour F1 ambitions, great name, 1997 to avenge...
Audi/VW Group - Very unlikely but a presence from this Automotive giant would be interesting... I'd expect to see them knocking on the door more 2013 time when new and hopefully more free and innovation-breeding engine regs are brought in... Diesel in F1? Plenty of brands to choose from... Lambo, Audi, Seat, Bugatti... Porsche?
An American team - Whether it's those incompetents at USFail, or a Ganassi/Penske/Andretti taking on the USF1 designs and running them, it would be nice to see that car run, and have some representation from the US, especially if it's a Penske or Ganassi (Target livery in F1? yes please!!)

Re: FIA launches 2011 team selection process
All I can see in F1 for an existing US team is a way to run themselves out of business. If any team is going to come from there in the next few years it'll be a bespoke F1 effort.

Considering Lola were the official reserve this season until they pulled out, I suppose they will be favourite unless another team comes along with significantly more marketing potential than them (i.e. basically a manufacturer).

Re: Rejects Wanted
I remember reading somewhere that Dallara has a deal in place with a different team to supply chassis to for next year than HRT. That happened whilst Campos Meta was in limbo. I don't know what has become of this deal, but if that's correct, it can only be a new entrant or a team using a contractor, which can only be Virgin Manor or Toro Rosso. It might also be ProDrive or N Technology, though.
Let's have Lola and somebody to run Dallaras for next year shall we?
Al Shoe Spammer F1 Rejects Racing - Life Racing Engines W12 would like to hire Adrian Campos as their new team principal because of his invaluable experience.

Re: Rejects Wanted
I'm placing my bets on Lola getting into Formula 1, because they have the technological infrastructure, the good will of the FIA (which eliminates Prodrive, Stefan, and USF1), and the ability to make their own cars in-house successfully.

Between RAM-Lola, Virgin, and HRT, we have ourselves the makings of a serious double entendre championship.

Re: Rejects Wanted
Surely no one else can run another set of Dallaras, unless Dallara designs a second different car (ala Red Bull / Toro Rosso). That's what stopped Prodrive using a Mclaren before, if I rememer correctly (and I'm sure I'll be told if I'm not!).

I have it on good authority that a Venezuelan conglomerate are going to start a team and buy the rights to the Brabham name, whilst a group of Norwegian businessmen plan to resurrect Arrows.
Meanwhile, Prodrive and Lola and other such qualified companies will have to sit kicking their heels in Le Mans again.

Good. Le Mans means a lot more than F1 does now it seems. Lola is a good company with tons of history. If they can't get into F1 then they'll make do.
