Quicksim: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1992 Season
Right, you know the drill (if you can remember... ). Same as last season.
The Cars
There will be little deviation from the cars that were run in real F1 in this time period, mostly slight performance adjustments based on the previous performance of a team the season before, and to fit the narrative of the period.
The Drivers
Before the start of each season, you are free to offer contracts for two driver slots.
Your choice will be limited in that you must fulfil two out of three objectives when signing drivers. Those objectives will be given and explained to you in private.
If multiple teams are bidding for a certain driver, RNG shall decide their fate, as usual.
The Teams
15 teams for 1992, 2 cars per team. These 15 teams have been determined by the needs of the canon and previous developments:
Honda Marlboro McLaren (This Could Be You)
Tyrrell Racing Organisation (Bandon23)
Canon Williams Renault Team (Klon)
Brabham Racing (I'll take care of them)
Scuderia Ferrari (TBA)
Camel Benetton Arrows (kevinbotz)
Team Lotus (East Londoner)
March F1 (Wizzie)
Footwork Team Oreca (Aislabie)
Central Park Larrousse (Salamander)
Scuderia Italia (Miguel98)
Minardi Team (Simtek)
Sasol Venturi Jordan Yamaha (Dom)
Porsche Rial Racing (SeedStriker)
Andrea Moda Formula (TBA)
Reserve list:
pinkd56
Ataxia
Spooder908
Frogfoot9013
The Race Weekend
305 km except Monaco, you all know how a Formula One race works. Furthermore, there will be a one-hour pre-qualifying session on Friday to determine which teams progress to the main qualifying session, and two one-hour sessions on Saturday to determine who starts the race and the grid. Pre-qualifying is determined by aggregate timing, with the top 2 teams progressing to main qualifying. The Top 12 teams in the 1991 WCC will skip this session. The teams that run in pre-qualifying will be determined every 4 races. 28 cars will feature in qualifying proper, and 26 will start the race.
The Points System
10-6-4-3-2-1 for the time being.
The Race Calendar
On the wiki.
If this is all automated, what do I do?
You pick the drivers, hope for the best and if you wish, you may change the lineup by replacing a driver with a driver picked from one of my suggestions if you can provide a good justification.
I'm much more active on the Discord so you can hit me up over there if you want me to do anything for you (within reason of course).
At the minute, I need existing team owners to confirm their teams. You have one week (until the 28th January 2021) to do this.

I've added you both to the reserve list - if this time next week there are any free teams left I'll get in touch with you about taking those over.

I don't even remember what I was trying to do with Larrousse, so let's see how badly this goes, why not?

I'm afraid not at the moment - I've effectively decided their driver lineup for the rest of the series span (until 1997) so you wouldn't be doing much anyway.
I shall consider you for whenever another team becomes vacant though, don't worry. You can take Lotus if you want.
