Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Singapore 2022
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Singapore 2022
1. Daniel Ricciardo. Perfectly judged the conditions and took advantage of Alpine's implosion to shadow Norris and take what could be his last top 5 finish in Formula 1. Excellent stuff.
2. Lance Stroll. Brilliant qualifying and finally a top 6 finish this season, bravo!

Riccy deserves a shout considering his poor season. I know he dropped well off Norris, but 5th is still a good, and much welcome result for him.
Aston Martin are the next best option imo.

1: Perez. Nobody expected that kind of a dominant drive.
2: Macca's: When everyone else seemed to bin it, they kept it on the road and quietly snapped up a double top5. Impressive.

BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)

- McLaren for a 4-5 finish, pretty much as close as they can get to a 1-2 without a repeat of 2018's start.
- Aston, for Seb's defensive masterclass and Stroll finally finishing above 10th.

McLaren and Aston Martin: 2 midfield teams who showed exactly how to take advantage of chaos like this. Both climbing big time in the constructors table.
Ricciardo and Stroll: extra emphasis on these 2 for delivering truly unexpected results
HM to Ferrari: If there was one race you’d expect Ferrari to screw up it was this one and yet apart from Leclerc’s battle with Perez they just knuckled down in a workmanlike manner and delivered a first clean race since Miami.

1- Mclaren- finishing 4-5 and it did look like for a while that Lando could get a poduim. Good result for Danny Ric as well.
2- Aston Martin kept out of trouble and came 6th and 8th
Hm Perez. Kept it clean and did win*
Hm- Mick Schumacher- the only rookie of this track to finish and was ahead of a Merc and could have got points if it wasn't for the formentioned Merc.

1. Perez. That was a great drive.
2. Danny Ric. Savour it.

1) Daniel Ricciardo: Wasn't sure about McLaren's chances at all of doing well in this race, but Ricciardo especially did well in the midst of a lacklustre season.
2) Lance Stroll: A good sixth place in a tumultous race.
Honourable Mention: Sergio Perez - A very strong drive to what will hopefully remain his victory.

McLaren for a double points finish
Aston Martin for a double points finish
Ferrari for a double podium
Bottas for his best finish since Austria and no longer being quite as anonymous as he has been over the summer period

Aston Martin had the most unexpected result for me. Honorable mention to McLaren for a similar surprise.

McLaren then Aston Martin for me.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Singapore 2022
1. Perez: The class of the field today. Had the measure of Leclerc in tricky conditions all race, but really shined with a fantastic defense at the end. Dinging him a few points for the safety car blunder(s), but neither of these gave him any advantage.
2. Aston Martin: A solid performance, and Vettel did well to keep Hamilton behind, only losing out to Verstappen on the final lap.

1. McLaren. I think the team overall deserves credit, Ricciardo had a great result for this season but Lando was even better.
2. Aston Martin. Best race of the season for them.

Lots of nominations for Danny and Lance, along with their respective teams, as well as our race winner. Four clear candidates to vote for then. The poll is at the top of this thread, and you have 48 hours to vote in it! Have fun!
