Right, first test is over, I've had time to get used to or bored by all the liveries.

1. Toro Rosso — Why change greatness? Blue and silver is such a good combination, and the red stripes add another dash of colour that keeps it from being too simple.
2. Mercedes — The silver is appealingly shiny like aluminium foil, and the way it transitions into black around the fin looks so... I don't know, metallically cool. It's what all those sleek, bland corporate wordmarks wish they were. And the secondary black also means they've finally found a way to be friendly with the Petronas green, using it as a cliché but nice wave of light. Bonus points for good use of the halo.
3. Racing Point — This is the only colourful livery, and we should all appreciate it. Pink and white just isn't bold enough anymore, so now blue comes into the mix, and it works. The dark-magenta-or-something and silver stripes getting thicker as they come down is pretty awkward, but that's the only issue. Pink and blue, it turns out, is a great combination, as long as there's some white to keep them from actually touching. Hooray?
4. Red Bull — Same as always. I miss glossy purple. It's still a nice livery, though.
5. Alfa Romeo — The red so wonderfully flows with the shape of the car, and the black still adds a much-needed third colour. And that's about it. A nice evolution of last year.
6. Ferrari — It's primarily red, or perhaps vermilion, with enough black, or perhaps grey, patches around to keep it from being boring. It's the most interesting you'll get out of Ferrari.
7. McLaren — Despite their cool triangles, it's still mostly a bland livery. Most of the car one colour, the wings another. It isn't ugly by any means, but for F1 you want something more complex.
8. Haas — So boring. At least the top of the nose has enough gold to keep it from being bland, which is an important point considering the angle of a lot of shots, but look at it from anywhere else and you're smacked in the face with boredom, if that even makes sense.
9. Williams — The darker blue looks a lot better than what they had at launch. Either that or the lighting was just that bad. I'm still not loving the fade effect, the nose in particular looks really amateurish, but I can live with this one.
10. Renault — The back half of the car is fine, but the nose... I don't know, it's just a bit awkward. The change of colour shouldn't be so close to the corners. And those thin black lines really don't help matters.

Couldn't rank them specifically, but I'd say Alfa Romeo has my number one spot, and Haas is my least favourite. The Haas chassis was a serious mistake, and I really hope they change it by Australia.

Yep, I'm reviewing the "Starting Grid" pictures again. It's only later than last year because I decided the fairest thing to do was to take the pictures from the middle race of the season. A lot of this year's pictures are that really boring level of quality where they aren't good but still aren't bad enough to relentlessly mock, but there are still some things to talk about.

20. Daniel Ricciardo
Image
What's going on with his left eye? The rest of his expression completes the look too. Without the weird conspiracy theorist twitchy eye, it'd be kind of okay.

19. Lance Stroll
Image
He thinks his hair is cool. He thinks he's cool. He isn't even the coolest F1 midfielder whose name starts with Lan. I want to tell him to shut up and he's not even saying anything.

18. Lando Norris
Image
He's trying to be all pouty and confident, but misjudges it and ends up looking a bit silly. He'll have it down at some point.

17. Antonio Giovinazzi
Image
I don't like that face. He's either trying to sell me something illegal or stab me.

16. Lewis Hamilton
Image
It's just like last year: it shows off his personality really well, but it's someone I don't like. If you're a Hamilton fan, imagine this is in 5th.

15. Charles Leclerc
Image
He's trying to look cool with his chin up, but like Norris, he hasn't quite got it right. It's a fine line, the one between cool and silly.

14. Pierre Gasly
Image
He isn't trying to do much of anything, yet still manages to screw up. He doesn't seem to understand that even when you're trying to be generic, you still have to compose yourself.

13. Alexander Albon
Image
"Whoa, I'm in F1? Didn't expect this. Uh, okay, I'll try to do a pose." The fact that that's what actually happened is no excuse.

12. Robert Kubica
Image
He looks kind of stupid and... er... I don't know how to say it without saying something awful. The way his head is shaped like, a big smile was the wrong choice. On the other hand, you can't not like how happy he is.

11. Sergio Pérez
Image
His smile is still not-quite-derpy-but-I-don't-know-what-other-word-to-use. He's done his eyebrows well, though, which is more than some of the others can say.

10. Daniil Kvyat
Image
He reminds me of a baseball player who's trying to look like they're trying to get out of the way of a pitch even though they mostly aren't. That said, he doesn't fail super hard at anything in particular, and this year that's enough for a top half result. sigh

9. Nico Hülkenberg
Image
He doesn't quite do the "I'm going to defeat you" look well, but he gets a hell of a lot closer than Norris, for example.

8. Carlos Sainz
Image
His lips seem really big and it looks funny, but like Kubica, I don't know what he's supposed to do about that. He'd be higher up if he did something with his left arm rather than just awkwardly leaving it hanging.

7. Max Verstappen
Image
Basically like Hülkenberg but with the arms done a bit better. Still looks a bit silly overall, but like Kvyat, he doesn't fail really hard anywhere so he gets a decent placing.

6. Romain Grosjean
Image
He isn't really trying to do anything. He's just looking plainly dignified for a photograph. But he doesn't screw anything up, so yay!

5. Sebastian Vettel
Image
It's the same thing as Grosjean, but his hairstyle works slightly better with a serious pose than Grosjean's does.

4. Kimi Räikkönen
Image
Same thing as last year but more. He clearly doesn't care and just wants this to be over with, but he's Kimi Räikkönen so that makes it cool.

3. Valtteri Bottas
Image
He looks confident without looking like he wants to destroy you. It looks sterilely well-executed and has character at the same time.

2. Kevin Magnussen
Image
He looks evil just like last year. And just like last year, I really like what he's done. He looks more like a kid pulling a prank than an antagonist, which is a shame, but still.

1. George Russell
Image
Holy crap, this guy is ready for this Grand Prix. It's everything the other nineteen people have been trying to do. Just looking at him makes me feel like he can just maybe drag the Williams to not second last.

Top 10 F1 liveries of the 2010s
If I arbitrarily decide liveries are too similar, they can't both be on the list. Red Bull from 2010 to 2012, for example.

10. 2017 Force India
Image
This one gets on the list for boldness more than anything. Who expected pale pink and bubbles to work on an F1 car? They even did something nice with the shark fin. (Though I was too bothered by those anyway....)

9. 2011 Red Bull
Image
The dark blue that's also maybe a bit purple is a pleasing colour, and I like the red, light blue and also maybe a bit purple, and light grey lines. What do we have now? A dull, matte blue and a single red line. Bring back the shiny.

8. 2013 Red Bull
Image
The Red Bull dark blue always mentally feels purple to me for whatever reason – it isn't a regular thing with dark blues – so when they made it actually purple it looked pretty cool. Just wish they'd done it with the whole thing.

7. 2018 Force India
Image
A more satured pink plus white meant a livery that isn't good just for being pink. That stripe along the bottom is just the sort of thing they needed. The two additional colours at the back are a nice little detail too.

6. 2016 Manor
Image
Blue and slightly red orange is a good combination. And the M is pretty cool. It could use a bit less black around the edges, but so could every F1 car these days....

5. 2019 Mercedes
Image
Right after I say modern cars have too much black, the black bit is what makes this livery. Okay, silver and black isn't hard to do well, but they did do something cool with it. And the green lines are cool, doing the "streaks of light in a dark background" thing that so many drinks like to do but without being cheesy.

4. 2017 Sauber
Image
Blue and gold is nice. Blue and white is nice. That's pretty much it, they just found a great but rare colour scheme.

3. 2011 Renault
Image
*Black* and gold stripes, on the other hand, was chosen for already being a proven colour scheme. And they did enough to make the whole car pretty, unlike the black and gold livery of this year....

2. 2018 Toro Rosso
Image
Usually when a livery is "striking", it shocks you with beauty the first time you see it and then it's quite good but not amazing, but this one keeps making me think "preeettty". Blue and silver is always good. Well, I shouldn't say that because Haas will find a way to prove me wrong. But it makes my brain happy. And then the red goes well with the rest of it and keeps the livery from being bland.

1. 2013 Lotus
Image
(If this is too similar to the 2011 Renault for you, imagine the MR01 is in tenth.) Black and gold is already great, but the additional red pops in the perfect way. It makes a really nice contrast but still keeps it feeling like a single tied-together thing. More than six years later, this one still makes me think wow.

Ten of the best… doctors (Doctor Who)

1. David Tennant (10th)

The Doctor that really got me hooked into the series.

2. Christopher Eccleston (9th)

My first Doctor that introduced me to the Whoniverse.

3. Paul McGann (8th)

Enjoyed the movie, and loved the fact that he came back to do a minisode that introduced his regeneration into the War Doctor. I love the line from that minisode, “Is this going to Hurt?”

4. John Hurt (War)

Could have been higher if he featured more, and possibly with a few solo episodes from the Time War. Or that could have ruined things? Depends on the quality of the writing.

5. Jodie Whittaker (13th)

Enjoying her time as the Doctor, but enjoying her second series more than her 1st series, and even then, enjoying some episodes more than others.

6. Peter Capaldi (12th)

Enjoyed him as a Doctor more than Matt Smith but still find many episodes forgettable.

7. Matt Smith (11th)

Just never warmed as much to him as a Doctor, with no real stand-out episodes that I personally find memorable.

8.= William Hartnell (1st), Patrick Troughton (2nd), Jon Pertwee (3rd), Tom Baker (4th), Peter Davison (5th), Colin Baker (6th), Sylvester McCoy (7th)

Hard to judge as I never really watched enough episodes of any of these classic Doctors to form a true opinion to list them separately.

Currently unclassified. The ‘Ruth’ Doctor (Jo Martin)

No idea where she fits into cannon, and only known as a Gallifreyan Time Lord for about ¼ of an episode. More screen time and information required.

DSQ. Shalka Doctor (Richard E. Grant)

Originally intended to be the reboot of the series and to be canonized as the official 9th Doctor but circumstances changed the plan. Also the only animated version to have been produced to have been intended as the official continuation.

DNQ. Rowan Atkinson, Richard E. Grant, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, Joanna Lumley (9th to 13th Doctors in The Curse of Fatal Death)

Not intended to be an official continuation, but respecting the cannon nonetheless, respecting the 12 regeneration rule, that he is an alien/Time Lord from Gallifrey, etc.

DNPQ. Peter Cushing (Dr Who and the Daleks, Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD)

This version was not a Gallifreyan Time Lord but a human inventor whose real character name was Dr Who, with a self-built Tardis (not TARDIS), etc.

Ten of my favourite NuWho Companions

2. Captain Jack Harkness
3. Nardole
4. Donna Noble
5. Wilfred Mott
6. Lady Christina de Souza
7. Martha Jones
8. Bill Potts
9. River Song
10. Either Craig Owens or Jackson Lake

No denying Huff's achievements as a touring car driver. He merely slipped my mind because he's only done nearly 2 full seasons in the BTCC and 2 one-offs.

He takes Collard's place in my Top 15. Sorry Rob!

Not sure if I have done this list before but here goes. Given that I have already been to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1996 and the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in 2011, these are the Grands Prix tracks that I would still like to go to at some point to see an F1 race, finances permitting:

1. Imola
2. Spa
3. Zandvoort
4. Montreal
5. Monaco
6. Melbourne
7. Suzuka
8. Istanbul (I didn’t say the tracks had to be current!)
9. Indianapolis (ditto)
10. Hungary perhaps?

1. Selling England by the Pound
2. Foxtrot
3. Genesis
4. Invisible Touch

Very Good Genesis albums:
5. Nursery Cryme
6. We Can't Dance
7. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

Pretty Good Genesis albums:
8. the album known as From Genesis to Revelation / In the Beginning / Rock Roots / Where the Sour Turns to Sweet / And the Word Was... / The First Album / The Original Album / Genesis / Genesis: 50 Years Ago
9. Trespass
10. A Trick of the Tail

10 TV/Movie/"celebrity" crushes (in approximate chronical order)

1. Joelene Crnogorac as Linda Twist in season 2 of the Australian TV show Round the Twist in 1992
Image
This TV series came out in 1992, so Joelene was about 14 years old at the time, and I was around 10 years old. At the time, I probably saw her as the older sister I didn't have, or a best female friend that I didn't have. I was at an all boys school at the time, so I had no contact with girls at school at that time. Very confusing emotions. But she still looks good in her 40s, I reckon! However, she is now married with kids i do believe.

2. Michelle Ryan as Zoe Slater in British soap Eastenders between 2000 and 2005.
Image
I've never really got into watching the soaps. But I was aware of her storyline with Kat Slater, where it was revealed that Kat was Zoe's mother not her sister. Almost drew me in. I loved that she then turned up in a Doctor Who special alongside Dacid Tennant as a thieving Lady, Lady Christina de Souza, in Planet of the Dead in 2009.

3. Lindsay Lohan as Maggie Peyton in Herbie: Fully Loaded in 2005.
Image
I first saw her as a pair of twins in Disney's The Parent Trap in 1998, but really developed a crush on her in the later Disney film Herbie: Fully Loaded. Not really seen her in anything since, but i still enjoy all the Herbie films to this day, especially the first and last. Just wish there were a few more sequels featuring Lindsay...

4. Carey Mulligan as Sally Sparrow in the 2007 episode of Doctor Who, Blink. Also later in the 2010 film Never Let Me Go.
Image
Not much to add here. She's pretty. And she plays characters with a good heart.

5. Anne Hathaway in the 2001 and 2004 Princess Diaries movies.
Image
I like both the pre- and post-princess transformation looks.

6. Kate Middleton, later Princess Kate, wife to the future King of England, William Windsor.
Image
William, Kate and I were all born between January and August 1982. We should all have been in the same year group at school. I am the youngest of the three, but was held back a year due to speech and language difficulties. However, we all started uni at the same time, and I do believe we all spent 4 years as undergrads. In an alternate universe, Kate and I went to the same uni and met. In another alternate universe, William and I went to the same uni and neither of us met Kate. In yet another universe, all three of us went to the same uni and met... Of course, there could be an alternate universe where none of us ever met. Far fetched? Well, my school and William's school both used to regularly play against each other at sports, so some people i knew would have played directly against William on the sports pitches...

7. Kristen Bell as Ellie Shellstrop in The Good Place, 2016-2020.
Image
She is a legit snack. Just a shame i am not stone cold Steve Austin. :( Or Chidi Anagonye.

8. Jamie Chadwick, racing driver, 2019 onwards
Image
Had to get a motor racing driver, and particularly a driver for Williams. Sorry Lella Lombardi, sorry Susie Wolff née Stoddard, but my current favourite female ex- or current Williams F1 driver (albeit a development driver) is Jamie Chadwick. I have been following her career since the start of the W Series in 2019 onwards. Would i still support her if she gets to F1 proper for Andretti instead of Williams? I imagine it would. It's probably more likely that if she ever gets to F1, it'll be with Andretti rather than Williams, but never say never.

9. Jodie Whittiker as Doctor Who, 2017 to 2022.
Image
Image
I'm not sure if I'm closer in age to Matt Smith (11th doctor) or Jodie (13th doctor), but Matt is two months younger than me, and Jodie is two months older. It's a shame her Doctor Who scripts were a bit rubbish, I think she had a lot more potential than the scripts allowed. Hopefully she'll return in a future multi-doctor anniversary episode with a better script and show what she can really do.

10. Julia Dietze as Renate Richter in The Iron Sky (2012) and The Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019).
Image
Don't know what to say for this. She shows that people can see the errors in their world view? That people can be reformed from Naziism? That women can kick ass and put men in their place? That she doesn't take crap from anyone despite indoctrination?

Honourable mention:
11. Lady Penelope Creiton-Ward, Thunderbirds puppet series, 1965 (based in the 2060s)
Image
Total class. And a nice gadget-laden car? In Thunderbirds, did I prefer the Thunderbirds craft or did I prefer Lady Penelope and Tin Tin? I'll let you decide for yourself.

To be honest, one thing I liked about the list is that the characters I'm familiar with, seem to be the type to be an equal partner, not some baby puppydog that some guys seem to prefer. I think its mature and egalitarian and I like that look on you.

Hmm, that's an interesting perspective and I had not even considered that when putting the list together. I'm glad that that is a theme throughout. Thank you for the observation. I had also considered adding further to the list Geogia Tennant (as she is now) as The Doctor's Daughter from a 2008 episode of Doctor Who and D'Arcy Beth Carden as Janet from The Good Place, and I would think that these two characters would also fit 8nto your observations.

And thank goodness for that. It's reassuring to know we all have a chance. We just need to find that needle in a haystack.

And it's lovely how respectful we all are on here, not just seeing women as people to lust over, but as actual people.

Ten of the best places I have stayed away from home on my holidays

British Isles

Westmorland Hotel, Cumbria, England

Just off the M6 in Cumbria between junctions 38 and 39, near Penrith, located at Tebay services, accessible from both the northbound and southbound carriageways. Tebay services is one of the best, if not THE best services in the UK. It is a family-run business who also have their own farm. The food is all home-cooked, there is a lounge with a log fire, it is dog friendly, no noise from the motorway, great views of the countryside, and you have a view of a duck pond from the restaurant. The services have a farm shop as well, which does good meats and baked goods.

Tryfan Cottage, near Caernarfon, North Wales

A converted barn in the North Wales countryside, it is located within sight of the Welsh Highland Railway and is a short walk from the Tryfan Halt on the railway. Very picturesque area. Rustic barn with modern conveniences like Wi-Fi and an electric shower.

Comis Hotel, formerly known as the Mount Murray Hotel, just south of Douglas, Isle of Man

Has an upmarket feel, part of a golf club, venue for wedding receptions. Also a designated dark skies site nearby, so good for star-gazing. The island is good for both heritage steam trains and electric trams, as well as motorcycle road racing (Manx TT around a 37.73 mile mountain course).

Balyett Guest House, near Stranraer, Scotland

Stayed here for one night as I was travelling over to Ireland as it was close to ferry terminals. Very comfortable, very convenient for the ferries, a bit hard to find though if you don’t know where it is. I seem to remember there being free booze available in the room - port or something? Not exactly sure what as I don’t drink. Decent breakfast. Again to be found on/near farmland.

Pilmuir Street Guest House, Dunfermline, Scotland

Located near Knockhill Race Track in Scotland, it is close to the town centre in Dunfermline. I stayed here for a night when I went to watch the BTCC at Knockhill in 2017. It cost £25, including breakfast. Unfortunately, a Google search seems to suggest that it is no longer a going concern, but it was bloody good value for that one night.

Beyond the British Isles

KEX Hostel, Reykjavik, Iceland

On the seafront in Iceland’s capital, I went with some uni friends and we were able to book a dorm to ourselves. A good bar, but not very accessible for people with physical disabilities when we visited in 2019. Has car parking facilities nearby and within walking distance of much of what central Reykjavik has to offer.

Hellatún House, Hella, Iceland

Available to book on AirBNB as well. Has a jacuzzi, very quiet and peaceful, has a driveway. Good for access to Iceland’s natural wonders, but you do need a car to get around to and from here. Very comfortable. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Eliott Hotel, Gibraltar

Centrally located in Gibraltar, it is just off the town centre near the cathedral and slightly elevated up the side of The Rock. You can see both Spain and Morocco across the Strait of Gibraltar. Great views also of The Rock, including from the rooftop pool, bar, and restaurant. I have stayed here twice and would not consider anywhere else in Gibraltar due to its location and quality.

Contemporary Resort, Walk Disney World, Orlando, Florida, USA

I like the Disney Parks in Paris and Orlando. Contemporary Hotel is my favourite in Orlando as it is on the monorail (which passes through the main building) and I like the Chef Mickey restaurant, not only for the character dining but because it is a buffet (good for picky eating and choosing how much you want to eat) and for watching the monorails passing overhead.

Sequioa Lodge Hotel, Disneyland Paris

My favourite themed hotel at Disneyland Paris, especially with access to the club facilities for breakfast, afternoon snacks, and drinks.

Honorary mentions

The following may well be better than Pilmuir Street and Balyett Guest Houses in Scotland:

Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest, Cumbria, UK: close to Tebay Services, so you could visit a farm shop on the way there. There also used to be a llama-themed café nearby, now sadly closed.

Beaulieu Inn, near Lynhurst and Beaulieu, Hampshire, UK: I will be staying here for the first time next week, but have had afternoon tea here before. In the middle of the New Forest, so there are ponies, cows, and donkeys roaming around nearby, and pigs in autumn. A train station is the only thing within a mile of the hotel, although the Beaulieu National Motor Museum is a few miles away. Again a very picturesque area, and some great roads to drive along (in my opinion).

These are the most memorable places I have stayed (or in the last case, about to stay). This does not include Travelodges or Premier Inns or large chain hotels/motels, as they tend to be standard and ubiquitous - nothing wrong about about them, but again nothing particularly memorable about any of the individual hotels. I liked the hotels I stayed at when I went to the Indianapolis 500 in 2016 and Italian Grand Prix in 2011, but I can’t remember the names of the hotels. I also stayed in a nice hotel in southern Italy that I think is here, but not 100% sure. Would be nice to revisit again though, it was a great road trip from home, going through France, Monaco, Italy and San Marino on the way there, then Italy, Switzerland and France on the way back (this was when I went to the Italian Grand Prix on the way home).

Re: TOTB (ten of the best)

Post by dr-baker »

Sorry, but not sorry - I’m on annual leave from work, so I have the time to type up a few of these lists that I have been thinking about for a while. Just to note that although all these lists are numbered, none of these lists below are in any particular order.

Ten cars I would like to test-drive/go for a road trip in/own

1. Mini: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_(marque)

I’ve had a 2007 diesel Mini Clubman. It caught fire. My sister has one of the last ‘classic’ Minis. The battery goes flat every winter when the weather gets cold. Still, they are distinctive and very recognisable.

2. Chrysler PT Cruiser: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_PT_Cruiser

Not to everyone’s liking, I know, but again, it’s distinctive and recognisable. Lower mpg than many equivalent sized European cars though.

3. DeLorean: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeLorean_Motor_Company

Back To The Future car is how I have to describe it to many people who don’t know what I’m on about. Once I say that, suddenly everybody knows what I’m on about and can picture the car in their head.

4. Mk 1 Renault Twingo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Twingo

Cute and was never sold in the UK. Later versions that were then sold in the UK lost its original charm and distinctiveness.

5. Vauxhall VX220: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Speedster

Guess it didn’t sell well as I can’t remember the last time I saw one on the road (if ever?). This makes it fairly unique.

6. Renault 5: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_5

A distinctive French runaround, very ubiquitous, just like the next entry.

7. Citroen 2CV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_2CV

Need I say anything? Just see the entry for the Renault 5, copy-and-paste.

8. Rover 75: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rover_75

Good enough for government ministers, as premium as British mass market cars got at the turn of the century.

9. Morris Minor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morris_Minor

A common mass market car from the 1960s. Wouldn’t risk taking one on a long-distance road trip nowadays or even as a daily runaround, but likely to turn heads if you were to take one out now.

10. Jaguar XJ220: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ220

The second British car on the list to feature the number 220. Strange. Certainly it won’t be due to engine size, especially in this case. The car that I would want to take on a nice, wide race track with an instructor by my side. Maybe even on an autobahn. But definitely not on country lanes.

Honourable mentions

Peel P50: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peel_P50
VW Beetle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Beetle

Tracks that I would most like to see Formuila E race on (given its initial premise of street courses)

1. Surfer’s Paradise

Once the Australian home of IndyCar (that seems a long time ago now) and once planned to be host to the A1GP series before that series went under.

2. Macau

3. Pau

4. Punta del Este

Can’t remember if FE had any decent races here, but I clearly remember its seafront location in the background of many TV angles.

5. Mexico City

6. New York

7. Montreal Ile de Notre Dame

8. London

Either Battersea Park or ExCEL, I’m not fussed.

9. Norisring

10. Marrakesh

Specifically the original street track as used by Auto GP rather than the later iteration of the track.

Favourite F1 teams (this list may be considered more in order of preference than other lists in this post)

1. Minardi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minardi

2. Williams : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams_Racing
Not to be confused with Frank Williams Racing Cars, for whom both Leila Lombardi and Masami Kuashima each had a DNS.

3. Mastercard Lola: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MasterCard_Lola
Also here: https://www.gprejects.com/forum/viewtop ... f=9&t=6849

4. MTV Simtek (more particular in 1994 rather that 1995, never was a massive fan of J. Verstappen nor his son): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simtek

5. Pacific (especially at the Pacific GPs): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Racing

6. Embassy Hill: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embassy_Hill

7. McLaren : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren

8. Super Aguri: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Aguri_F1

9. Virgin Manor, if for no other reason than all the jokes that the team name generated on this forum back in the day: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Racing

10. Larousse, particularly in 1994 with what I found to be distinctive liveries at the time. Or just variable liveries?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larrousse_LH94

Honourable mention: Forti: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forti

Favourite Kids TV Shows

1. Thomas The Tank Engine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JMu6tUMenM

9. Jimbo and The Jet Set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHFgGFop9DA

10. Fraggle Rock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLQS6xo40kI

11. Thunderbirds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huPB3T0v_uQ

12: Stingray: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45NtEXv7DZs
Anything can happen in the next half-hour!

13. Supercar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFXcirSidnY

Places that I would like to visit but haven’t done so yet

USA (but only after a change in government regime)

- New York, particularly the art museums, Broadway shows, and the Statue of Liberty
- Las Vegas, particularly some of the shows and as a base for the Grand Canyon
- Hawaii, I would probably pick the Disney hotel Aulani, and visit Pearl Habour
- Disneyland Anaheim

(So far, I have been to Illinois once, Alaska once, Indiana once, and Florida twice)

Asia and Australasia

- Hong Kong, including Hong Kong Disney
- Japan, including riding on their high speed Shinkansen trains and going to Suzuka. Maybe their Disney Parks too?
- Melbourne, Sydney, and Tasmania in Australia - particularly the F1 race and seeing a platypus and Tasmanian Devil

Europe

- Micronations of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Luxembourg and Lichtenstein all on a single road trip (already done Monaco and San Marino on one road trip within the same day).
- Malta
- Italy - Pisa, Rome and Vatican City State
