Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
1. Ollie Bearman. 30 hours ago he was ready for another bog standard F2 weekend. What a performance from the lad!
2. Nico Hulkenberg. A precious point for Haas.

BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)

Oliver Bearman, what an unexpected week for him, instead of finishing p8 in f2 he did one up himself congrats to him!

Bearman. Pretty damn good debut, please please please do not be like NDV.
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
Bearman. He finished a much better driver than he was when he started.
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
Oliver Bearman acquitted himself well considering this was his debut and he came in last-minute. One for the future, let's hope.

1. Ollie Bearman. Thrown into the firepit and got points and kept it clean. Outstanding really.
2. Haas. Got a point using clever team tactics. Not bad at all.

Benetton of 1992. Never a reject

I can't disagree.
Honourable mention to Haas as a whole for a delightfully devilish strategy.

Bearman
It's just unbelievable...that Formula 1 could be such a ridiculous melange of idiots.

Just one this time around for me
1. Ollie Bearman. Excellent half-weekend for him. Provided most of the little excitement in the GP, and fought his way up to 7th. Never seemed bothered by the pressure.

Ditto, Bearman was excellent
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
Oliver Bearman: Simply an amazing debut!
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
I think that pretty much covers it - to me, it was more the maturity that Bearman showed that was impressive (from being able to handle the pressure he was put under during the race to the ability he showed when asking about strategies and timing information).
Outside of that, the way that Hulkenberg and Haas managed to salvage a modicum of success from the race was noteworthy - considering the circumstances, they made the best of a bad situation to eke out an unlikely point from the race.

Oliver Bearman. That's got to be one of the best debut performances of recent times, if not all time, given how impromptu it was!

Ellie Bearman. Savour it.
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
For something different apart from Bearman and Haas scoring a point which is like gold dust to the lower half of the field, I think Alonso deserves a mention based on the team's form in Bahrain (clearly 5th fastest), beating both Mercedes and a McLaren with their regular drivers meant he was punching above his weight.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Saudi Arabia 2024
Bearman will obviously win it for an excellent short notice debut but I would have given it to Haas not just for scoring a point that for the bottom 5 teams is looking like it might be gold dust this year considering the advantage the top 5 have but they actually showed decent pace, the car doesn’t seem to chew it’s tires like last year and they had executed a tactical plan with Magnussen holding everyone up. Maybe the firing of Gunther Steiner won’t be such a bad decision after all and we can look at Haas from a racing point of view instead of through Netflix quotes
