Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Britain 2024
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Britain 2024
1. Lewis Hamilton. What a way to snap the winless streak. If I were him I'd be reconsidering that Ferrari contract ASAP.
2. Lance Stroll. Outperformed Alonso all weekend.

Between:
Nico Hulkenberg: Another P6 and never looked out of place there either.
And Stroll: P7 and ahead of his team mate.
HM to Tsunoda for another point in the VisaCashApp shitbox.
I can't give it Hamilton cos that goes against how I view IIDOTR. It's not Driver of the Day.

1) Lewis Hamilton - 2nd on the grid and didn't fall apart in final stint, for a moment I thought he'd catch the entire world out and retire in the interview with Jenson
2) Hulkenberg - HAAS on merit keeping pace for points at Silverstone? Extremely improbable

Nico Hulkenberg is my pick; Hamilton has won too many times to be an improbable winner today even considering his lack of fortune for the past couple of years.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Britain 2024
1- Nico Hulkenberg- another top place- Haas must be gutted to be losing him next season. Another 6th place!!
2- Lewis Hamilton- Okay I didn't think he would win another race and he did do well. Wonder what he thinks about Ferrari at the moment.
HM- Williams 9th and 11th is nothing to be sniffed at. Good results again getting further away from Sauber/Stake/Dustbins

1. The British drivers for doing so well collectively at their home race.
2. Albon and the Incredible Hulk for scoring.
3. Double points finish for Aston and for Stroll ahead of his illustrious teammate.
Honorary mention: I noticed before the race that one of the infield big screens had a sign language interpreter / commentator. Good for reasonable adjustments and equality/diversity inclusion. More of this please.

1) Lewis Hamilton - Win #104 at last! Not to mention a record
9th win at Silverstone!
2) Nico Hulkenberg - Another 6th place for Haas! Can he keep it up? They could be in the running for their best season since 2018 at this rate!

Hulk and even though unnoticed, Stroll get it for me.

Williams: A great result for Albon, that should ensure 9th place in the WCC for them. Sargeant wasn't very far away either, in what was one of his best weekends.
Honorable mention to Hamilton for breaking the win streak and more records.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Britain 2024
I expect that Hamilton will get a number of nominations for demonstrating that he did still have decent tactical nous, and able to carefully manage his tyres in that final stint too.
In general, you could also nominate several midfield runners - Hulkenberg's 6th was a real surprise, particularly as his pace in the race showed it was genuinely on merit, whilst Stroll seemed to fairly comfortably have the measure of Alonso too. Albon also managing to claw his way back into the top 10 was also noteworthy, particularly given the car was damaged early on (although it is slightly tempered by the fact that he was responsible for causing that damage in the first place).

I would like to add a nomination for the variable weather conditions for shaking up the order a bit.

This isn’t a nomination, but a round of applause for the proper circuits, they generally produce much better racing than the street tracks. Among the street tracks, I like Canada and Australia, but even Barcelona is usually better.
It's just unbelievable...that Formula 1 could be such a ridiculous melange of idiots.

Hamilton - Succeeded where Norris failed, and got his first win in 2.5 years
Sargeant - His best result all year and so close to a point. Also shoves Bottas down to last.
HM to Hulk for another 6th place as well as Verstappen's side of the garage for making McLaren look like idiots.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Britain 2024
This is a hard one...
I am declining to nominate this week but I will give to HMs
Lance Stroll: I can't nominate IIDOTR because he has previously shown himself to be extremely strong in changing conditions. This is par for the course for him, albeit a great performance.
Nico Hulkenberg: We are coming to expect these drives from him so it is no longer improbable.
