Nice track set. I'll have to do a bit of downloading because I didn't realise that you could get a few of those tracks (e.g. Sao Paulo street circuit).
I reckon the British GP should be at the Birmingham Superprix circuit

Re: MinardiFan's Rejectful rFactor Championship
I will have to change the calendar for the season as a number of tracks do not want to work as well as other reasons. The list includes Mugello (crashes at loading screen), Portimao (won't load sky.mas file) and Brno (copy of GTR2 needed to install track). I will update the first post with an updated track list.
I will also add the Birmingham Superprix to the calendar as the European GP.
EDIT: I would like some suggestions for other tracks that I could use in this series. Only rule is to be slightly realistic with the track choices (so no Nurburgring-Nordschliefe, Le Mans 24 hours or fantasy tracks).

Re: MinardiFan's Rejectful rFactor Championship
I take it you use rFactor Central?
Some of my favourite tracks include Bathurst (not realistic for F1 though), Ascari Race Resort, Vallelunga, Oran Park, the old Kyalami (especially with old cars), Eastern Creek, Sachsenring, Monthlery, and Assen

Crashes at loading screen, may indicate that you have installed it wrong.
Go to the track folder, and open it until u find a .scn file, open that in wordpad, there you will find something like this(I'm using bathurst)
SearchPath=.
SearchPath=BATHURST\BATHURST_RLN
SearchPath=BATHURST
That means, that my BATHURST_RLN track, is in the BATHURST folder, and the BATHURST folder is in Locations. If the path ain't correct, it will crash in loading =)

Thanks for that. I managed to get Mugello to load after following your instructions. I also managed to find a version of Portimao that doesn't have a broken .MAS file.

If you're going to do an English, Scottish and Irish Grand Prix, do a Welsh Grand Prix somewhere too...

I have added a Welsh GP to the provisional calendar, but I may have to remove it from the schedule as there are too many races.

Round 1 - Australian GP - Surfers Paradise Indy
Qualifying
The Australian GP started well for Force India's new signing, the young Australian driver MinardiFan95 taking pole position at his home GP. Son of mutiple world champion Nelson Piquet, Nelson Piquet Jr. qualified a surprising 2nd in a slow Renault.

Race
MinardiFan got off to a good start, leading into the chicane in front of the chaos unfolding in the midfield. Lewis Hamilton was ruing a bad qualifying session when he tangled with midfield runners Bourdais and Nakajima. All three were out of the race. At turn three on the second lap it was Kimi Raikonnen's turn to walk back to the pitlane, ending his race after an encounter with the concrete barriers. By the end of lap 2, MinardiFan had pulled out a 4.5 second gap over second placed Nelson Piquet Jr. However, MinardiFan's race was short lived when at the exit of the second chicane he hit some debris and slammed into the back of Jenson Button's parked Brawn.

The eventual winner of the race was Nelson Piquet Jr, 2nd was Sebastian Vettel and third was Jarno Trulli

The Scottish, Irish and Welsh GP's have been removed from the calendar to have around the same number of races as the real F1 season. The New Zealand GP has been moved to Pukekohe Park due to Taupo being too narrow for F1 cars.

Lies, you listened to the latest podcast and blamed those responsible, and pulled each round through protest.

I have not decided on the tracks I will use yet, but the tracks must not have been on the F1 calendar for the past 10 years (so no tracks used in F1 from 2000-present)
Series calendar;
French GP: Paul Ricard HTTT
German GP: Sachsenring
Races will be run over 25% of the normal race distance (305km/190mi) specified by the FIA and will be limited to 30mins

Oh man,... substitute these for Rouen-Les-Essarts and Nordschleife (I don't see why it is an unrealistic track choice...) then it would be my dream series.

I recieved a threat from the Whole Spanish Press saying that if I didn't remove those rounds from the calendar, they would report negatively on anything to do with the series and they would force Fernando Alonso into pulling out of the Renault team, leaving Renault with a lineup of Nelson Piquet Jr and Rrmmnn Grrjjnn. All because of calling Jaime Alguersuari a Portuguese maistro on the podcast.
The real reason, though, was that the tracks were not suited to F1 cars. Loch Rannoch had a corner that would have made F1 cars fly into the Loch, Mondello was just too narrow and Pembrey could only be raced at evening, something that those "prima-donna" F1 drivers would complain about.

New Zealand GP - Pukekohe Park
Qualifying
I managed to qualify in 14th with the badly setup Force India behind Nelson Piquet Jr. Pole went to the 'Canberra Milk Kid', AUSTRALIA'S Mark Webber.

Race
The race started fairly well for me, gaining 6 spots up to 8th. Second lap I pass Bourdais for seventh at the hairpin. At the end of the third lap, a collision between Piquet and Nakajima caused a monumental pileup, taking out 5 drivers. Next lap Webber and Barrichello hit some of the debris and slammed into the armco. I managed to get through the debris, but I lost my front wing. In fact, the only driver who got through unscathed was Button.

The rest of the race was fairly uneventful compared to the first few laps, with the only other retirement being Rosberg with an engine failure. I managed to spin out of a possible 2nd place at the hairpin after battling with Vettel and was then lapped by Button, who I managed to stay close behind until an off track excursion at turn 1.
Top three finishers were Button, Vettel and Kovalainen

Japanese GP - Autopolis
Qualifying
My qualifying attempt was short lived after Lewis Hamilton punted me off on my first flying lap. Jenson Button took pole position, Sebastien Buemi qualified a surprising 2nd.

Race
I got off to a good start, getting up to 11th by the first corner. By the next corner I had gained 2 positions and was battling Vettel for 8th when I ended up hitting him, causing the Red Bull to roll.

Kimi Raikonnen was able to have his ice cream and coke a bit earlier than expected when he retired after hitting some debris from the collision. I continued for another lap with some suspension damage until I went into the barriers at the second to last corner.
Nelson "I crashed to help Alonso" Piquet Jr won his second race of the season from Jenson "Freddie Mercury" Button and AUSTRALIA'S Mark "Canberra Milk Kid" Webber.

For the rest of the season I will be using the FSONE 2009 mod starting at this round.
Round 4: Vodacom South African GP at Kyalami
Qualifying
A fairly good qualifying session saw me start the Grand Prix in 6th position
Race
I got off to a good start, getting up to 5th place by the third corner. By the end of the lap I was in 4th thanks to a spin by Felipe Massa at the chicane. On the fourth lap Lewis Hamilton spun, promoting me to 3rd and the safety car was called out due to the other McLaren of Kovalainen hitting the wall. On the restart I passed Button. At turn 5 Button hit me, causing him to lose his front wing. Fortunately for me the VJM02 received no major damage. Lap 10 Glock and Piquet came together in turn 3 bringing out the safety car for the second time. I managed to get a good run at the restart and passed Barrichello, only for him to pass me at the chicane on the same lap. The safety car was called out yet again on lap 15 after about five cars spun at the chicane. This meant there was a NASCAR style green/white/checkered finish. Hamilton spun out of third at the chicane on the penultimate lap, promoting Trulli to a podium spot. On the last lap Trulli spun less than 500 meters from the finish at the chicane. In the end I finished 2nd behind Rubens "Blah Blah Blah-ing" Barrichello. Hamilton finished 3rd, Vettel in 4th and last lap spinner Trulli 5th.

British GP – Brands Hatch Indy
Qualifying
An excellent sub 36 second lap put me on pole position for the second time in the series. Badoer had a horrid session and started dead last.

Race
I got off to a very slow start, getting passed by both Vettel and Barrichello. I managed to stay in third for the first half of the race until Webber decided to punt me off on lap 19. The result – some suspension damage and a drop back to 6th place. But the race wasn’t over. I easily took 5th place from Hamilton on lap 21 and for the next 13 laps, gradually caught up to the top 4. I spent two laps looking at the gearbox of Webber’s RB5 until both Button and Webber got a terrible exit at the last corner with only two laps left. I fended off Button and Webber for the remaining laps and took home the 3rd place trophy. Badoer improved on qualifying and finished in 16th. Kimi was unavailable for comment on his replacement's performance, as he was too busy falling off a yacht while being drunk.

News
Fernando Alonso has recently joked about Piquet Jr’s crash at Singapore last year, saying that Piquet crashed on purpose to help him win. The FIA have decided to investigate this, in the hope of proving that Flavio is guilty of something.

A quick question MinardiFan95 Could you help me as i've been trying to install rFactor mods but they won't work, I'm pretty sure i'm following the instructions properly. If you could help, that would be great.
P.S. Enjoying reading about your rFactor championship. The big race next at the Birmingham Superprix, I've bought tickets for it and are going on foot.

The folders for mods are usually sorted into the folders (Gamedata, rfm, etc...) already so just unzip them and copy the folders into the rfactor folder. It will ask you if you want to merge the folders, click on yes.
If it is an .exe installation, install it to the rfactor folder (usually C:\Program Files\rFactor).
Hope this helps you, redbulljack.

Can't wait for the race at the Birmingham Superprix as it is one of my favourite tracks. I've heard rumours that a certain team run by Flavio could be having it's last race at the Superprix due to the team orders that Fernando mentioned in the pre race press conference at Brands Hatch.

The version of Potrero de Los Funes that I have isn't very good as the signs are wrong (for example there are signs for Benetton F1 and Holden on one corner) and some of the other scenery isn't that good either. However, I'll still try to take some screenshots

Re: MinardiFan's Rejectful rFactor Championship
Sorry to overload you MinardiFan, but is there an easy way to choose which cars will be in a race rather than the game just making a random selection if you limit the number of opponents.
For example, would it be possible to run a pre-qualifying season and then manually choose the drivers for qualifying based on the results?

If so, for 1990, I'd throw in the 9 best cars, i.e. Prost, Senna, Berger, Mansell, Boutsen, Patrese, Piquet, Nannini and Alesi to give teams like Eurobrun and Coloni a fighting chance of making the grid.
I like the way Snrub thinks!

The short answer for this is no, however you could have all of the drivers in the practice session and boot the slowest cars (the drivers that are out of the top 26 or over 107%) before qualifying.
And now for...
The Big News In Formula One
The best kept secret in F1 has been let out as two of the new teams that were scheduled to race in the 2010 season have decided to start a year earlier. Virgin Racing and Hispania Racing are expected to turn up at the Superprix. Inside sources have suggested that these are the driver lineups:
HRT:
22. Karun Chandhok
23. Sakon Yamamoto
Virgin Racing:
24. Zsolt Baumgartner
25. Lucas di Grassi
Lotus Racing are also expected to race later in the season, with rumours that Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen making the switch to the Anglo-Malaysian team.
This is a cool spot.

Re: Dave Simpson's Racing Career/Rejectful rFactor Champions
I've decided to start a racing career based of my fictional Precision Motorsports RP character, Dave Simpson, but didn't want to clutter up the Deletraz forum by starting a new thread. Now I know that a lot of people were looking forward to reading about the Rejectful rFactor Championship, so I will also continue with that.
The career of Dave Simpson will be run over a number of games including V8 Supercars 3, rFactor, Race On, Colin Mcrae Dirt 2, Gran Turismo 5 (when it is released), GRID, Superbike World Championship '09, etc.

Re: Dave Simpson's Racing Career/Rejectful rFactor Champions
An obscure motoring magazine wrote:After over a year away many people were wondering what happened to the mysterious Force India driver in the Rejectful rFactor Championship. He was meant to race at Birmingham in the European GP on the Superprix circuit. The fact that he said the name of HWNSNBM suggested he was struck by flaming papayas, which was the recorded reason why he never returned. However, new evidence has been uncovered suggesting this was not the case. Just before the European GP, the mysterious driver headed out to the AVUS circuit to test a new prototype vehicle - which a leaked picture of was found on an obscure server.
I know, it's a really crappy photoshop job
We'll have more on this story as it unfolds.

What? So we'll now have to wait until 2015 to find out what happens? Or do we need to find some archive media from either 1985 or 1955 to find out? (Or possibly even 1885!)

Re: MinardiFan's Rejectful rFactor Championship
The rest of the Back to the Future time travel stuff will come later; for now here's the...
EUROPEAN GP at the BIRMINGHAM SUPERPRIX
Qualifying:
I qualified 7th with a 1'14.221 lap. The "number 2 driver" took pole position (with an astounding 1'12.241) over a second ahead of Button.
Race:
The start of the race was fairly uneventful, gaining one spot in the first lap and staying there. Eventually I caught the lead group and started to pass them one by one, until I tagged the back of Barrichello's Brawn, which sent the fast approaching Red Bull of the Finger-man straight towards the rear tyre of my car and into the inside wall. The next lap the Red Bull was still parked there, and I ended up slamming into the back of a slowing McLaren. I came out of the pits in 12th place, aiming for a points finish. Then, on lap 15, the most bizarre thing i've ever seen in a game happened. Most of the AI cars simultaneously had engine failures. The safety car saved the rest of the remaining 4 AI cars - at least until the last lap. On the restart I slammed into Kovalainen's McLaren which had broken down, damaging my suspension. However by this time Nakajima's Williams had retired and Badoer had hit the pit lane entry wall, meaning that I could continue on to second place. Jenson Button had won, but the Brawn's engine gave up just after the finish line.
Results:
1. Jenson Button
2. MinardiFan95 +11.687
3. Kazuki Nakajima DNF
4. Heikki Kovalainen DNF
5. Luca Badoer +1 lap
6. Jarno Trulli
7. Rubens Barrichello
8. Mark Webber
9. Nelsinho Piquet
10. Felipe Massa
I'll have pictures up soon, just wanted to post this when I could (damn 500 server errors).
