Depending on penalties, he could be un-rejectified in a few hours time.

Button finished more than 20 seconds ahead of Kobayashi, so he would still be ahead if he was penalised. No chance of Kobayashi on the podium.

Yes I agree totally.

The time penalty can be between 20 and 30 seconds, and typically in the past has been 25. A 23+ second penalty would see Kobayashi on the podium. Not that I particularly want to see such farcical screwing around with the race result.

It used to be 25, but not any more, they changed the rules this year so it's 20 seconds for drive throughs and 30 seconds for stop and goes. Since stop and goes are never issued any more, I think it's pretty certain that the penalty will be 20 seconds if one is issued. That would put Kobayashi 4th with Alonso 5th.

Anyway, the important thing here is that we have actually seen action on this boring circuit. I already knew something special would happen this year. No matter if he finishes 4th or 7th, Kobayashi did one hell of a great race with a poor car, and that must be cheered accordingly. And Williams have improved massively, with Barrichello 4th on the track. Speaking about Williams, what happened exactly with Hülkenberg? He was set to score, and then he retired...

Well, it's easy to win when you have what should be comfortably the fastest car by a long way, and your team mate has taken himself out of the race - so it isn't anywhere near as much of an achievement as dragging a back of the field car into the points.

It seems that Alonso is going ballistic at the results; so much so, that he is accusing the officials of corrupting the result:

"It's a shame, not for us because this is racing, but for all the fans who came here to watch a manipulated race," he told Spanish television after the race.

Now that is not an accusation that you would want to toss about lightly - he was getting very agitated during the race, and presumably vented his spleen as soon as he got the change. Anyone want to bet that this might come back to haunt him big time?

Yes, 5 second penalties for these five drivers are confirmed. Unfortunately, Kamui just fails to get the sixth place from Sutil or the fifth from Kubica - but fortunately, Rubens doesn't lose anything

According to Autosport:

While the win was a welcome change of form for the Super Nova team after a tough start to the season, there is also concern within the squad after Ericsson's team-mate Josef Kral was taken to hospital following a huge accident on lap three.

The Czech driver ran into the back of Arden's Rodolfo Gonzalez and was launched skyward before landing on his gearbox and slamming into the Turn 17 barriers at high speed. He is reported to be conscious and complaining of pain in his back and right arm.

The accident prompted several laps behind the safety car, which eventually led to the race being flagged several laps before schedule due to time limitations.

Whatever Alonso may moan about, it seems of only academic significance when you bear in mind:

4.: Rubens Barrichello
5.: Robert Kubica
6.: Adrian Sutil
7.: Kamui Kobayashi

I'm afraid that in a Ferrari you are hoping to come ahead of those drivers on track 100% of the time, and anything else in a faster car with no technical issues is a personal failure. Especially when one of them qualifies 18th.
