Chandhok's going to be the clear number 1 at HRT this weekend. He better make the most of it.

PS. Happy birthday Sakon Yamamoto.

I only knew that cuz I found it out on the F1 website whilst looking at the driver quotes, he mentioned it was his birthday.

Expect Zoran Stefanovic to buy the team when he is inevitably refused entry to the championship by the FIA.

The birthday thing was mentioned either by the BBC or J** S****d, I can't remember which.

I wonder if the team will have second thoughts overnight bearing in mind Yamamoto's poor performance today (Friday) & the fact that he appears also not to be physically up to competing In a GP.

Will Bruno re-appear on Sat. morning?

This has really pissed me off. DITCHING SENNA? You're insane! If HRT are really that desperate then just ditch Chandhok? Admittedly, no one likes to get kicked, but this is just lunacy! I pray Bruno gets a better drive for next season! Indian Force or ART? Even if he had to go, I much rather see Chris Klien in the car instead.

Okay, let's see how many things you got wrong:
1) Senna has only been dropped for the British Grand Prix. He will return for Hockenheim.
2) Senna has already said he wants to stay at the team for 2011.
3) Force India have already confirmed Sutil and Liuzzi for 2011.
4) ART have officially withdrawn their entry for the final grid place, and they were never guaranteed it to begin with.
So stop over-reacting and start reading some fo the news reports instead of relying on internet forums for your news.

I'm aware its only for the British GP. I'm also aware of FI and that he wants to stay next season. I'm just trying to say I would like to see him with a better drive next season...

Sheesh. I'm not a pure idiot as to not read the freaking news.

Hello F1Reject,
I've got some news about it. As some user wrote her, Yamamoto return to formula 1 is a gift for his birthday coming from his mother (!)
This information is coming from Buemi senior and was relayed by a french F1 journalist.

I think someone is competing for the reject of the year award ..

Speaking of courtrooms, how long until Senna sues HRT when they decide not to give him his drive back after all? :D

Slightly more impressed with Yamamoto today, got closer to Chandhok, wasn't too far off of Glock, and improved in the first two sectors on his final laps in the last ten minutes, but lost time to letting traffic by in the final sector.

Of course, he doesn't deserve to be there in place of Senna, but he's not completely hopeless, certainly not the next Deletraz or Ide, and he's actually closer to his teammate than either Glock or Trulli are, although they had problems.

Edit: Well within 107% as well by my calculations

Esecially since Hammer has a hammer and isn't afraid to use it.

From the moment it was announced that Senna would be dropped for Silverstone, I have seen nothing but people running off the rails over it, blowing things way out of proportion. To say they have been over-reactions is an understatement.

To say that you are trying to be nonchalant is an understatement.

Did you notice how the Brazilian sponsorship that Bruno brought, namely Embratel and Banco Cruzeiro do Sul, fits nicely alongside "Sakon" on the sidepods? That'll make everybody happy. Not to mention the timing of the announcement, the leak 12 hours before the press release and the fact that Yamamoto, against whom I personally hold absolutely nothing, has been weighed, measured and found wanting.

And let's be honest, shall we? The only reason Bernard Charles and his entourage even permit the slow, unreliable, no-good, fight-picking HRT to stain the paddock with their conflicts with Dallara, is because they have signed up as drivers a) an Indian guy and b) a bloke called Senna. Now, fortunately, both seem to be genuinely nice guys and quite handy drivers, and look set to survive and progress, possibly at the expense of the Trullis and Schumachers of this world. Throwing the baby out with the bath water, as Kolles is doing, is A Big Mistake.

Um, it's also because neither FOM, FOTA or the FIA have the power to kick a team out of the championship unless they do something embarrassing. Certainly not because they're slow.

Reading between the lines a bit (notably Yamamoto saying he will talk to Senna and Senna not wanting to talk to the press), it seems to be that Senna has had some kind of falling-out with the team. It's certainly not sponsor-related since the only new sponsor was brought by Chandhok, and none of Senna's sponsors have fallen off the car.

Apparently, Senna accidentally sent an e-mail with criticism about the team to Kolles instead of to someone else. (The source for this is some Brazilian news blog, don't remember exactly.) So Kolles was probably annoyed and 'punished' Senna by taking him out of the car for one race.

Sakon has successfully put himself in line to drive next year's HRT, sponsorship provided. So Kudos to him.

Reading the post-race comments on Hispanias website, apparantly Karun suffered some damage to his car, particularly the bargeboards, which might go some way to explaining why the two drivers were so close.

I however, still prefer to think that Sakons just better than given credit for :D

Which makes it all the more peculiar. I don't buy the email story, even if it is a reputable source. It's daft to just ditch one of your two main drivers on such a silly whim, especially as it could upset the sponsors Senna is bringing to the table, namely Embratel.

Also did anyone notice the drivers' names had disappeared off the sides of the cars during the race? Bit of a shame I think, they were replaced by what looked like an elongated Spanish flag. Some sort of good luck for the World Cup perhaps?
