Some say he plans to put an S921 on the Goodwood 2012 run, and that he DOES know what Deletraz is doing.
All we know is...he's called Perry McCarthy!

...we'll never see an S921 at Goodwood, will we?

Dear Hulk,

Good qualifying. We know how good we are, just please keep it in the black stuff and away from other drivers' cars in the first lap, yeah?

Best,

The World Cup is now over.

Im pleased in many ways, we've kidded ourselves for years about our chances and Im grateful to a great German side who showed us the reality yesterday. The England players are all about themselves not the shirt (the exception being Beckham who always played each game like it was his last). I dont think it will change, the culture of the Premiership is too ingrained.

Good luck Germany, I hope you win as you deserve it more than we did.

Why do I get the feeling that the movable rear wing concept is going to be killed off as a result of what happened at Valencia?

Horrific accident. But caused by a wheel to wheel touch. Why do you blame the circuit.

Because of the bridge that got in the way. And the fact the track is so narrow there's barely any space for side-by-side.

Okay, the Surtees incident was a freak one, but the other 3 I mention were all made all the more dangerous by cars flying into/over barriers which are far too close to the track.

But then why would you need the loudspeaker?

As for the Chris van der Drift crash, that was the same spot where F1 reject Gregor Foitek caused a massive pileup in 1988, crushing Johnny Herbert's legs. I don't think you can really blame the circuit too much. Its possible that you could alleviate it by straightening the kink before the bridge to eliminate the line change. This crash was largely caused by Julien Jousse's car having fuel pressure problems which caused him to slow so the initial contact was the result of that combined with his efforts to get off the racing line which goes to the left.

Surtees' was a freak accident, the Herbert/Foitek one was so long ago that I don't think you can compare the safety of the cars. Cavalho's was due to the armco flexing and vaulting his Leon into the air. Admittedly, that could be addressed.

EDIT: Officially, van der Drift's injury list is a broken right ankle, broken small finger on the right hand, severe skin graze on the left hand, possible fractures to two ribs and a shoulder blade. The other thing about moving the barriers back and dismantling that bridge is that everybody would claim that Brands Hatch no longer has danger and that it had been Tilke'fied and lost its soul.
Nissanymania! Friday has never been the same since.

The car in front is a Stefan.

Apart from Johnny Herbert's accident, I have been present at Brands Hatch for the three other accidents - maybe I should stop attending and it will all be safe...

Seriously, all these accidents happened on the GP loop, which is entirely bordered by trees, so widening might encounter problems from the environment lobby, and may increase complaints from local residents as some of their sound proofing would be removed. A Monza/old-Hockenheim-style chicane at Pilgrim's Drop might be the solution - this is approximately where the Superleague crash happened and Australia and Pakistan crashed in A1 GP a few years ago.

Just to show how wooded the GP loop is, here is a panoramic shot of Brands where you can see 95% of the Indy loop but none of the GP loop due to the trees (taken from the Paddock Hill grandstand):

You forgot another one - Jean Pierre Jarier's accident in 1983 at the start, where he was pitched into a barrier head on, and smashed his legs so badly that he had to retire from racing.
