The team is just 2 slow.

And with a team manager as Kolles naah that's the guy who should get banned for life for any kind of autosport/motorsport.
He does it just for the money he will sell HRT, it's the same as with Jordan,Midland, and Spyker he just destroy it.

But senna should also leave the f1 he is just there because of his name, he isn't a great driver at all.

:| I have no idea about that, the HRT is known to shadow everyone's abilities. Sure, Senna, Chandhok and Yamamoto may be there because of the money, but who knows?

I think we should give a trophy for the best driver in the new teams just to give them credit. That's probably what they'll earn at the highest rate, anyways!

We already do. It's called the Andrea Montermini cup, proprieted by yours truly. It has just sunk to the abyss of PS memorial forum due to no races in several weeks :(

Reports out of Spain claim Epsilon Euskadi is considering merging with HRT next year as HRT have not finalised an arrangement to build their 2011 car.

Old news. Predicted it six months ago.

Or rather, they've just seen the logic as well and made up the story. You know how it is with the Spanish Press, printing completely made up stories that just make sense as a concept, hoping they turn out to be right and claim they managed a massive 'scoop'.

Etc etc...what's the bloody point, neither will have a car ready for 2011 anyway.

The thing is, at the rate it is taking the FIA to sort out the final new team, nobody will have a car ready for 2011 at this rate - after all, unlike the 2010 selection process, they haven't even indicated whether the teams have to have a certain parts supplier, or any other conditions linked to the selection process (i.e. Cosworth engines and Xtrac transmission - although, considering that Xtrac offered an out of date, unreliable hydraulics system that was probably not fit for purpose, that might not be a bad thing).

Actually, I believe that the FIA's plan is to avoid a repeat of the USF1 incident and have teams submit a final draft of their intended 2011 car as a part of the proposal. Nick Wirth said that Virgin had finalised their car design by the end of August last year, and that anyone who hadn't finished it by then was going to be in serious trouble when it came time to prepare the cars. It's not so much a case of the FIA inspecting the car designs to make sure they comply with the regulations, but rather, they are making sure the prospective entrants have a clearly-defined plan for the next few months to avoid them aimlessly wondering (as Campos and USF1 did).

With every passing day, we are now getting to the point that even the best-prepared potential team would not be ready for 2011.

I don't understand why the FIA doesn't bump everything up several months and have a candidate chosen by April or May. Then the team can really hammer down. If anyone is chosen now, they will almost certainly putt around at the tail end of the grid, a la HRT with little or no time to get funding or stuff done. Is that what they really want?

They're doing it so there's a good wave of publicity for the teams to ride in on, so that they're more likely to get sponsorship dollars. The longer gap between announcement and racing gives more time for sponsors to back out.

They mainly aim to survive only, and that means they have to take Yamamoto because he brings money. However, I don't know if Klien is bringing money as well. So, HRT has no future unless they can find potential sponsors apart from the one the drivers are already bringing in. I can't do nothing but think that at least Senna would've been better in GP2 until better offers arose.

I half wonder if Bruno is thinking the same thing - if he had stayed in GP2, and been a championship contender (or even won the title), it might have given him a chance of landing a drive in a slightly better team - or, at the very least, next year, he could have entered with one of the better new teams (either Lotus or Virgin Racing, as they at least look as if they are not only interested in surviving, but improving their position - Lotus is already actively developing the 2011 car, and Virgin is working on both this years car and next years - and bear in mind that Virgin has got a budget which is only marginally bigger than HRT, it is rumoured).
On the other hand, at the time he signed for the team, he must have thought that the team had some potential - after all, he signed up when all was harmonious between Dallara and Campos (at the time), and it looked as if the team had reasonable backing.

Needs to be taken in context. I was really pointing out that Phoenix & Mario were stating the obvious. :)

Well Force India or Sauber could do alot worse than to sign on Senna as one of their drivers next year.

On this season's showing it's difficult to judge Bruno at all. He is probably better than we have seen so far, but quite some distance from top level. (As things stand). If he were to suddenly appear in Red Bull, Ferrari or McLaren, would he be close to the current incumbents?

I'd say he'd struggle. Probably be noticeably worse than Kovalainen was at McLaren.

Renault would probably be his upper limit, but as you say, that's based on very little.

Either that, or they just don't want another team, and they're trying to cover it up by being late so they can say "Whoops, sorry, no one was ready".

Btw, what was this about Hispania getting the Toyota package for next season? Just imagine, if that car is actually as good as everyone says it was going to be, and the updates to bring it in line with regulations don't hurt it that much... A car that was winning a year ago would after a year still be good for, what, maybe not podiums, but at least some higher points positions? Imagine if Hispania would suddenly leapfrog a lot of teams!
Hmm, this makes one wonder if maybe the FIA was desperate to keep out Stefan last year because of the loss of face that would be associated with the Toyota car winning. (Then again, Stefan didn't make it very hard for the FIA to come up with reasons to keep them out.)

"A Toyota car winning". There's a phrase I wouldn't have put the mortgage on hearing today.

Somewhat disingenuously...if it was as good as everyone says may be they shouldn't (or wouldn't) have quit. :?

Or maybe they would have had to recall it. :)

At least we now understand why Toyota was always so crap at Monaco... a sticking throttle and narrow walls equals an Alessandro-Zampedri-esque pileup.
