Predicament Predictions - 2010 Italian Grand Prix

Post by TomWazzleshaw »

Since this is the 1 year anniversary of the Predicament Predictions championship I'm considering making it a double points round for everyone (People who are yet to use their double points option (i.e Shinji and co) will still be able to use it later in the season)

Anyways deadline is the conclusion of FP2 on Friday.

Wizzie's predictions
2010 Italian Grand Prix:
1. Hamilton
2. Button
3. Webber
4. Sutil
5. Alonso
6. Kubica
7. Massa
8. Rosberg
9. Petrov
10. Vettel

Pole: Hamilton
Fastest lap: Sutil
First Retirement: De La Rosa
ROTR: Vettel (Qualifies on front row but slides down in the race due to being over-agressive and the Renault engine)
IIDOTR: Sutil (Could have finished 3rd easily but just couldn't find a way past the widest Red Bull in the world)
DBTMOTR: Liuzzi
Minor League Premiership (Driver): Petrov
Minor League Premiership (Team): Lotus

I have looked into Shinji's request and the public outrage that followed and I have come to an decision based on the following example:

Eample 1: Shinji scores 10 points here. Since it's double points for everyone he scores 20 points. If he uses his double points option here he scores an extra 20 points bringing his total to 40. He scores 10 more points in Singapore bringing his total for the 2 races up to 50

Example 2: Shinji scores 10 points here blah blah blah. However he doesn't use it meaning he only scores 20 points here in Monza. However he uses it in the next race at Singapore where he scores 10 points which is doulbed to make 20 points. His total over the 2 races is 40.

I have decided that even though it may throw the championship on it's head that I'll allow it for this round only but this will not be allowed in the future (This is in order to accomidate plans to make Monaco a double points round for everyone)

I won't predict a win for an Italian driver like Trulli, not only because it is highly improbable but, according to Autosport.com (before they corrected the mistake earlier this afternoon):

Wow, I was going to use double points here, but if my points are going to be doubled anyway, I'd rather save them. (Not like these predictions have any chance anyway, but I figured if I am going to predict surprises, might as well do that here.)

This time I've really earned a big reject-prediction award. Spectacularly bad. Not that it counts, it's only double points...

Edit, Monday, 13.09., 01:47 CEST: Noooooo!!!! - i wanted to qoute, not to edit this post! Double-reject, considering that even if this were still eligeble to score points I've just edited out all predictions that were remotely near points-scoring position! For what it's worth (nothing, at least in points), the above were my actual predictions...
