As much as I'd like Webber to win the championship, I fear that it's Alonso in the end.

Time to merge these two threads, now we know Vettel has got it. Well done to him, drove out of his skin and recovered from the big bouts of bad luck he's had all along (plus the unnecessary and costly mistakes). A fair victor, which I personally never saw coming.

I would have never guessed VETTEL, out of all people, winning the championship.

At least he won it fairly.

Props go to Petrov for holding up Alonso like someone would do so in a bank heist.

You did. Mark gave up when he hit that wall in Korea, did he not? I bet he's happy it's all over.

Now the first driver to win a GP in a Minardi (of sorts) has won the World Championship. In a Stewart (of sorts). Giancarlo Minardi and Jackie Stewart must be all smiles now.

Interesting to note that Benneton took 13 years from their birth as Toleman to get the drivers championship Red Bull also took 13 years from their birth as Stewart to get the drivers Champinship and both times it was a german driver..... with number 5 on the car too

To be fair, he really stole it from under Alonso's nose.

To be fair, Petrov really stole it from under Alonso's nose for him.

BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)
