Infinite Improbably Drive of the Race - Abu Dhabi

Post by Shizuka »

So, the season ended in Abu Dhabi.

But who's IIDOTR for the last time in 2010?

1. Renault
2. Rosberg

1: Petrov - epic defence against Alonso (again!)
2: McLaren - no-one expected them to be where they were all weekend

1. Alguersuari - held off Massa for the entire race in a car that was only good enough to qualify 17th, and was rewarded with a couple of points.
2. Renault - 5th and 6th from 10th and 11th, and a couple of brilliant strategy calls to do it.

1. Petrov - Held up Alonso like in a bank heist!
2. Alguersuari - Proving that Toro Rosso CAN earn points if they have a good cup of coffee in the morning.

1) Petrov: mistake-free race. Great performance under heavy pressure from Alonso, very calm.
2) Alguersuari: very much deserved scoring points in the last few races. I feel he deserves another chance more than Buemi.

1. Petrov - outqualified Kubica, which was unfortunate as it disadvantaged his strategy. drove a fantastic race though.
2. Alguersuari - pace was similar to Webber's most of the race

Thought Petrov was awesome today and he unrejectifies himself too!

10 points to Petrov, 6 to Alguersuari (I never noticed he scored points, but he held off Massa for two-thirs of the race).

And I bet Renault were pretty happy with their TV coverage today.

1. Petrov - That's the second time he's kept Alonso at bay, but unlike Turkey, this was an energised, fighting Alonso with a much better Ferrari. Excellent drive.
2. Kubica - I already said in the GP thread I believe this was the drive of the season. Sublime stuff, being pretty much the only driver to pass as far as I could tell, both passes around the outside, and royally screwing McLaren's strategy with his own raw pace.

1. Petrov - Flawless race, held off Alonso for 2/3 race, finished just a few seconds off Kubica
2. Algesuari - Flawless race in a rubbish car, held off Massa for 2/3 of race, finished just a few seconds off Webber

1. Petrov saving his skin with a storming drive under immense pressure.
2. Alguersaurus (who seems to have spent all year between 9th and 15th). Steady but unspectacular whereas Buemi is a bit more erratic but has something extra.

1. Petrov: Made Alonso look like the rookie with all the mistakes the Spaniad made.
2. Rosberg: For the first 20 laps he was in the box seat for a win. In THAT crapbox of a car.

You have a point on Kubica, passing on that circuit is as existent as Nick Heidfeld's chances of ever winning a race.

No surprises :)
1. Petrov - unrejectification - he COULD drive flawless under pressure
2. Algersaurus

honorable mention: Kubica (two overtaking manouvers), Vettel (he's the first champion coming from that far behind  ), Heidfeld (of course the only time he beats Kobayashi doesn't earn him a point, typical Nick)
