It appears that, based on a fluke decision from the United States Food & Drug Administration, Four Loko is now illegal in America. As such, the sponsor is likely to go bankrupt, and Hemogoblin Autowerks is in the market for sponsors, pay-drivers or a girlfriend.

OK, a bit of pointlessness that no one cares about, since no one else drives for them:
And now something slightly more relevant:
Official Zimmer-Holden Press Release wrote:The owners of the Zimmer-Holden Racing have been making inroads into gaining some new sponsors, and they are delighted to announce that a new title sponsor has been signed. The National Australia Bank has invested into the team, and effective after the upcoming race at Brands Hatch, the team shall be renamed NAB-Holden Racing Team. The team would also like to announce that 49% of the team has been sold to retired Australian touring car driver Mark Skaife, who will become the team principal, as long as John Zimmer continues to drive, and he brings with him many staff from the Toll Holden Racing Team. NAB-Holden Racing Team will replace their standard livery with red, black and white, to reflect the new sponsorship, and will also carry the "Holden Lion" on the engine cover.
And now something slightly more relevant:
Official F1RWRS Announcement wrote:The drivers who will pre-qualify for next season will be decided by the final championship standings of this season. The top 15 drivers in the championship will be immediately accepted into the qualification and race, but those drivers who were 16th or lower, unclassified, or did not compete, shall enter a pre-qualifying heat to attempt to gain entry into qualification and the race. After 3 racesm the top 15 drivers in the championship at that time will automatically qualify, allowing some drivers to escape pre-qualifying. After 6 races, the new top 15 will automatically gain entry, and so on.
Input into pre-qualifying is appreciated from the drivers, and they may also put forward a rule change that they want to see implemented.

The timing in hundreds of a second is too unaccurate for a modern sport like F1, our timing computers showed I was 6th one thousands of a second faster then the driver in the first non qualifying position, if we can time it then why can't the FIA????. The qualifying race was a farce as the person in 1st has a advantage over me as I was on the 2nd row of the grid plus I did have old rubber on as I wanted to save tyres for the race. Our team will be lodging a formal protest in this grossly unfair qualifying.

OK, let me clear things up:
1. The game only measures lap times in hundredths of a second, so I just guessed who was faster.
2. The FIA have nothing to do with this.

Ford Australia has decided to sponsor the Australian Minardi F1RWRS team after Holden announced their plans of a factory team yesterday. This sponsorship will provide the team with a highly tuned version of the new supercharged V8 used in the new FPV range. Team owner Paul Stoddart's OzJet airline will also sponsor the team, running with the slogan "At least we're more reliable than QANTAS" on the rear wing. To add to this, the second Australian Minardi car, with a currently unconfirmed driver, will run as a seperate team called the Ford Australia Racing Team.

Although Steele has the best result for the team, Kekkonen, is indeed, the smarter one in the paddock.
Oh, and for future reference, if there's a tie in qualifying, the driver who set the time first gets the upper-hand. For further proof, see Jerez 1997.

Re: F1RWRS - A computerised F1Reject series
New developments!!!
Development A:
Concerning Pit Stops:
Due to the fact that most races are decided on strategy, I am going to do a small test race (15 laps of Laguna Seca) to test whether the cars can go with only optional pit stops. There might be a bit of spinning in longer races, but that will be countered by:
Development B:
Concerning Race Length:
Rather than just have 30 lap races that go from 15 minutes at Norisring to an hour at Spa, I have decided to work out how many laps a 150km race distance would be. For example, it would be about 66 laps of Norisring and 22 of Spa.
Development C:
Wizzie has suggested that a 16th race be added after Laguna Seca next year - a race at the Indy oval! Or, the F1RWRS Indy 500! (Hehe) 200 laps around a circuit that Michelin tyres are unable to stand. Unfortunately, there is no Indy that the FW27 can drive, so we'll just have to use the IRL version!

RACE #8 - BRANDS HATCH
Qualifying:
It seems that this will be the weekend of the underdog, as the pole position goes to Thomas De Bock! Another surprise was Aurelian Moll, who DNQ'ed 5 times in a row, managing to plonk his ECB in 7th. On the other hand, Frank Zimmer, Jari Kekonen and AMR all disappointed, with Zimmer 13th, Kekonen 15th and the AMR cars of Pippa and Douglas Mann a lowly 17th and 19th respectively, behind their own B-Team driver, Hagane Shizuka, who put in a respectable lap good for 14th.

18th: Pacchia-Coswojuddhartlambo - Luca PACCHIARINI: +1.55
19th: Anglo-Manx Racing - Douglas MANN: +1.59
Race:
Lap 1:
A simply brilliant start from Simon Redman saw the Aussie pass Dagnall, Melrose and Spencer at Paddock Hill, but he couldn’t quite catch the flying De Bock. While Melrose held on to 3rd, Gary Cameron slotted into 4th, Spencer 5th, teammate David Koczo 6th, Dagnall way back in 7th, McAllister 8th, Moll 9th and Hemo Goblin in 10th. Shizuka lost a few spots and dropped to 16th, while Douglas Mann passed both Luca Pacchiarini and Pippa at Druids. Kekonen had a good start to get to 13th, ahead of Frank Zimmer.
Lap 2:
Melrose and Redman swapped positions regularly, but it was Redman in second at the end of the lap. James Davies was now in the top 10, while Hemo Goblin lost his spot to Kekonen. Pippa Mann comes in for her stop.
Lap 3:
A small mistake from De Bock at Dingle Dell sees Redman and Melrose get through, but Melrose runs wide at Clark corner and allows both Calinetics back past. Aurelian Moll pits and comes out a long way ahead of Mann.
Lap 4:
Redman still leads and the Calinetics of De Bock and Cameron fill out the podium. James Davies has now found his way into 5th, while Melrose drops to 6th. They separate the Prospecs of Koczo and Spencer. Dagnall has dropped to 9th, and seems to have some rear suspension damage. Jari Kekonen is now 10th.
Lap 5:
De Bock makes a right mess of things at Dingle Dell, and Cameron sneaks through. Davies is 4th, while Kekonen is up to 9th, having passed Dagnall around the outside at Surtees.
Lap 6:
Free of De Bock, Cameron immediately closes on Redman. Davies has a moment at Paddock Hill, and Koczo gets through, before Melrose outbroke him into Druids. Koczo then pits, as well as the 12th placed Zimmer. He (barely) gets out in front of Koczo!
Lap 7:
Redman has an absolute shocker at virtually every corner, and unsurprisingly Cameron and De Bock get past. Davies drops back to 8th, while Kekonen is back to 13th place, behind Shizuka. Moll has now passed Douglas Mann and Pacchiarini, who is desperately blocking Pippa.
Lap 8:
Cameron goes off at Stirlings Bend, and De Bock once again leads, with Redman back to second. Spencer is 4th, with Hemo Goblin now 5th and Dagnall 6th. Melrose is 9th, trying to hold off Kekonen and Moll. Pippa Mann passes Pacchiarini. McAllister and Davies come together, and it seems that Davies wanted to pit, but foolishly positioned his car on the outside of Clark corner, and when he tried to turn in, McAllister was the unlucky victim. He was fine to continue, but collected Roda as he rejoined, putting both of them into the sand. Both are still going, however.
Lap 9:
Redman leads again after a brilliant outside pass at Druids on De Bock, and Cameron finda his way through at Surtees. Kekonen is up to 6th place, while Shizuka is now 9th. Moll, however, is breathing down his neck.
Lap 10:
And De Bock leads again, as he continues his battle with Cameron and Redman. Well, Redman anyway, as Cameron loses his spot to Spencer. The last 3 top 10 positions are filled out by the AMR/MAN drivers, with Douglas 8th, Shizuka 9th and Pippa 10th, ahead of Moll. But at Clark, it becomes Spa all over again, as McAllister and Simpson get into a massive pileup! They both get the now infamous black-and-orange flag, as does Douglas Mann, who got caught up by an out of control McAllister, but has minimal damage. Unfortunately, it occurs just beyond the pit entry, so Simpson and McAllister have to go round again (I knew I should have turned the wrong way off!)
Lap 11:
Mann may be feeling a little hard done by, as he has very minimal damage, but pits anyway. Shizuka, Roda and Pacchiarini also join him, but Shizuka only went in after a big spin at Clark, and managed to just get in. Simpson and McAllister have very heavy damage, and they risk becoming the Kay Lon of Brands if they aren’t careful, with neither of them even at Surtees yet. Anyway, apart from all that, Spencer is now 2nd, but De Bock still leads.
Lap 12:
Moll is now 4th, behind Redman, while Cameron must have been caught up in the excitement, having lost quite a few places. Pippa Mann managed to avoid the fuss, but is stuck in 8th. The rest of the field has been spread out, thanks to the mobile chicane of Simpson.
Lap 13:
Spencer now leads, while Moll is 3rd and gaining on countryman De Bock fast. About the time they pass the finish line, Simpson and McAllister appear, both safely off the racing line, but still racing each other at 40km/h! Gary Cameron passes them, and has to perform some tricky manoeuvres to get into the pits! For the record, Simpson beat McAllister in. Jari Kekonen very nearly hits them both as he pits too!
Lap 14:
And Moll takes the lead, and a very commanding one at that, passing De Bock at Paddock Hill and Spencer at Dingle Dell. Who would have thought that a driver who could barely qualify would be leading a race at all? As for the other stoppers, Pippa Mann is 4th, Frank Zimmer the next best in 7th, David Koczo is 8th, Davies 9th, Roda 11th, Shizuka 13th, and Douglas Mann 14th. That doesn’t count those who stopped last lap, although Cameron did beat Pacchiarini. Kekonen also goes a lap down.
Lap 15:
Moll still leads, and Zimmer, Koczo and Davies pass Redman, demoting him from 6th to 9th. At the moment, Simpson and McAllister still haven’t left the pits, and are already 4 laps down. It is looking likely that they get a big DNF. Zimmer passes Melrose for 5th, and has a good gap between himself and Koczo, who is under pressure from Davies. Kekonen has emerged from the pits between Roda and Dagnall,in 17th place but a lap down on the top 11.
Lap 16:
Spencer is still second, but is now holding up Pippa Mann. Frank Zimmer is 4th, and while Spencer tried to follow him past De Bock, the Belgian closed the door on him and opened it for Davies instead. Dagnall pits, and lets Shizuka past at the same time.
Lap 17:
The drivers yet to stop are Spencer (P2, still holding up Mann), De Bock (P7, in open air), Melrose (P8, about 2 seconds behind De Bock), Redman (P9, right behind Melrose) and Hemo Goblin (P10, right behind Redman).
Lap 18:
McAllister and Simpson have now officially retired as both drivers get out of their cars, with major steering damage in Phoenix’s car, and demolished suspension in Dave’s. Pippa finally finds way past Spencer, but Zimmer makes quick work of him, immediately chasing that 2nd place finish. Davies also gets past, but conveniently, Spencer’s own teammate cannot get in front. De Bock experiences massive oversteer at Dingle Dell, but he manages to recover, albeit behind Redman now.
Lap 19:
It’s now a close battle for second, as Mann loses a lot of ground to Zimmer and Davies. Moll has such a big lead that only an unscheduled stop will destroy it. Koczo has now managed to pass Spencer, although it was very messy. Spencer then decides pitting would be a good idea. De Bock also pits.
Lap 20:
Those last 3 drivers to stop, Melrose, Redman and Hemo Goblin, are in a pretty entertaining battle, made better when one of the stoppers catches up. It gets scary, when a few of them slide their way round Clark…
Lap 21:
And Moll is now involved in that battle, but is still well ahead of Mann.
Lap 22:
Apart from that, the race descends into its usual pointless phase. Mann has now got a bit of breathing room, but Zimmer, Davies and Koczo are still fighting over that last podium spot.
Lap 24:
Hemo Goblin pits.
Lap 25:
Koczo is forced to pit again with an engine drama, but can rejoin. He gets back out in 8th place. Redman also pits, leaving Daniel Melrose as the last one to stop.
Lap 26:
Bad news for Pippa Mann, as she was struggling on very old tyres and has to pit, handing the 2nd place spot to Zimmer. She emerges behind Spencer.
Lap 27:
Focus turns to Moll, who is on the next oldest set, but he stays out, content with a large lead.
Lap 30:
And at the end of the race, the winner is Aurelian Moll, although the decision to stay out almost cost him, after he barely kept it out of the wall at Dingle Dell on the last lap. Unfortunately, Frank Zimmer did get into the wall, but managed to limp home in 3rd, behind James Davies. But the big news is the disqualification of championship leader Daniel Melrose for not pitting.

So, with Moll's victory and Shizuka's 4th place, every team this season has now scored a point! On to Zandvoort!

Race:

I'm giving out my setup to the AMR team. Because why not!
I'm happy to see myself in 14th place, I thought I'll only be around 16th or 17th.

We´re doing well during qualifying so now we must focus on what we´re doing wrong during the races. I´ve made a few suggestions to the team owners and I hope these we´ll be listened to as the car is plenty of potential, we just have to exploit it correctly
Tread lightly in ARWS. Every decision might be your last.

Than Pippa does a funny little whoop-whoop dance thing that seriously embarrasses her brother standing next to her.Pippa Mann wrote:I am frustrated that twice I got held up on laps 7 and 16, maybe I could have lost less time when I ended up making my second pit stop. And my fastest lap shows I had more potential than I was able to show. But maybe I should have made my first pit stop a bit later. Anyway, At least the race ended up a lot better than qualifying, thanks to Shizuka-san's set-up tips. And congratulations on his 4th place.
Douglas Mann wrote:Sorry about my sister's silly little dance there. But yeah, we are both happy with Hagane's drive today and he did help us to move from back-of-the-grid to mid-field (and Pippa to near the front before her second stop). We hope that this improvement continues for the rest of the season, with all three of us in the final top-15 by the end of the year.
the Masked Lapwing wrote:New developments!!!
Both AMR and MAN Racing teams approve of these developments, particularly Development A, considering that this was often Douglas's downfall while he was at the awful West Cliff Racing team and led to Pippa's Brands Hatch problem. And both teams are facinated by trying an oval race for the first time, especially somewhere as prestigious as Indianapolis!
