Eddie Jordan. He was blathering on about how he has 'spies' up and down the pit lane and how a driver and his team principal need to have a really close relationship in the long moment before Q3 started again, and then completely lost it afterwards. They really need to get rid of him and replace him with Mike Gascoyne.

I wouldn't know about Eddie losing it, because the coverage went off completely after Massa's accident until just before Q3. The timing sustem was rejectworthy, but it at least came back for a little bit and let Legard and Brundle get an idea of who was where before going off again.

I'm also going to go with Barichello's spring, for now.

Whatever hit Massa's helmet, spring or whatnot, is a great candidate. But, now that Felipe seems to be OK, I'm casting a vote for the timing system.

And, if you really want to focus on track action, what happened to the BMWs?

Timing system, definetly. The loose sprong is such a case of Devil putting it's tail in the middle in the worst ever possible moment. A huge amount of bad luck, considering that Brawn car's where among the most reliable and solid of the field. And voting springs directly affect's Brawn's mechacnichs.

So, with the race still to go, I go Timing System.

I'm going to nominate the Associated Press news agency, for falsely reporting that Massa's injury was life-threatening. Although in intensive care, Massa is stable, and there has been no indication that his life was seriously in danger the way AP made it out to be. As such, for letting the fox into the chicken coop, they get the vote.

Timing and scoring is an obvious one. Seeing nine drivers in Parc Ferme was funny.

Here in America, Jenson Button was caught using profanity on the world feed when speaking with Fernando Alonso, which bothered me none, but was pretty funny when the Speed crew apologized for it.

I hope I don't have to add Lewis Hamilton later if he uses his KERS to climb up the back of the Red Bull's or Alonso at the start.

This might shed some light. BMW was running a front wing more similar to the other teams during Practice, when Heidfeld was second on the time sheets, but switched to the old configuration for the race.

Interesting, that. Thanks, MBF! The problem is Nick did second in FP3, and Kubica was halfway through the field, so the old wing didn't seem too bad. Maybe they have been fooling themselves, running light. Anyway, they were just hopelessly slow in Qualifying.

The BBC in Britain (and elsewhere?) also picked up on that and hastily apologised with the proviso that he probably didn't know his voice was being broadcast!

Where's the traditional nomination for Nelson Piquet? Alonso on pole, he's back in 15th with no excuses about Alonso having all the upgrades this time.
Maybe he'll make up for it in the race though, put in a strong drive making his way up the field and winning the respect and admiration of... no sorry I can't go on :lol:

It's unfair to Nelsinho, given that Fernando is racing with a ridiculosly low amount of fuel. Fernando has a 30 kg lighter car... :shock:

I can't decide what's dumber. Releasing your driver straight into the path of a Ferrari or not attaching the freakin' wheel properly. Red Bull and Renault were a shambles.

SABESTIAN BUEMI, for finishing last behind new teammate Jaime Alguersuari, who not only is in his 1st race but his only outing so far was 2 straight line tests!!
Sabestain Buemi also made couple of driver errors during race while Jaime Alguersuari had fairly clean race!!

The Cameramen

I understand that F1 isn't exactly edge-of-your-seat action packed this season. Once Alonso's wheel had flown off the race was another snooze-fest, but usually the cameramen are intelligent enough to keep the lenses pointed at something interesting, usually a turbulent-air battle going on in the lower midfield, or footage of Nicole bouncing up and down

Except today, where the coverage kept moving to anything that looked alive. Halfway through the race, they cut to a twenty second piece of a small child recieving an autograph from Bernie E. Three things wrong with this:

1- It isn't on track, therefore making it look like F1 is clutching at straws.

2- It isn't interesting in any way, shape or form.

3- (Relevant to this one) The autographer. If it was one of the drivers, I could possibly understand, particularly at the Hungaroring, but what eight year old wants the autograph of a troll-like businessman?

In terms of the race:

Wheel Frisbees/Loose items on track

We saw Briatore leaving the race early today, probably to go and murder whoever convinced him that wheel frisbees were a good idea. These things are on the cusp of being banned for 2010, and good riddance to them. This, combined with the spring that nearly killed Massa, is not what F1 needs as its main attention grabber in a race weekend.

BMW-Sauber

The BBC teams mentioned them once all race. Where have they been recently?

Hungaroring

The race today was probably better than most at this track, but it was hardly something to write home about. I understand that Hungary is a popuar venue, but surely F1 deserves a better circuit.

You can't really blame AP for that - they were directly quoting the Hungarian statement as well as a doctor at the press conference.

Renault is the obvious choice for ROTR - love the shot of Flav waiting for his ride home while Piquet was still trying to salvage a result. It's one thing for the fans to leave a venue early but for a team principal...?

BMW have been shocking for a while yet haven't had the decency to fail in a spectacular way - proper rejectdom requires more than just being slow.

While not on a par with Renault's pit team, I'd also like to mention Eddie Jordan and his inability to understand how to work in live broadcasting. When the anchor (Jake) puts a question to you, no doubt to fill a specific number of seconds before the next item or VT package, you should not decide to answer a completely different question, or start out on a lengthy anecdote about when he was a team owner.
