Oh and yes I was relieved Barii Mori didn't make it into the race, probably one of the main reasons why I actually finished!

Phoenix McAllister wrote:It goes without saying I'm not at all impressed with our performance this weekend. That we creamed the opposition in the last race doesn't mean I'm going to be any more lenient after yet another mediocre weekend. We have those guys working for the famous webpage called F1 Rejects watching us and we want them to rate us high in their season's end review, so I'm beginning to lose my patience yet again, and I can indeed understand Barii's frustrations. I will fire more people if things doesn't improve, and there are plenty engineers out there hungry to show their worth. And I'd like Honda to show more commitment if possible. They can do it much better than they are doing.

Steele, in an interview following qualifying, says that he actually wants to qualify for a race, rather than go for a cup "that means you're the best of the worst." Steele has been cranky for a long time, which explains his firing last season (he was fired via fax, out of all things).

Cameron walks out on Calinetic

Former F1RWRS champion Gary Cameron has sensationally quit Team Calinetic with immediate effect after scoring only 3 points in the first six races this season, including 3 DNQs and a humiliating last place in the last round at Zandvoort. The Englishman has now registered his interest in filling the vacant second seat at Prospec alongside reigning champion Nathanael Spencer.

Rhys runs Calinetic, it's one of the original teams. By the way Rhys, I would like that Prospec seat for definite, just to confirm.

OK then, so for the next race you'll be at Prospec. Jeremy, you want Steele at Calinetic immediately?

May I remind you that you're required at the MRT test on the Saturday since you're the first driver to test the M3B?

RACE #7 - SILVERSTONE

Qualifying:

Fairly straight forward session, Melrose hauls his crapbox onto pole with a brilliant lap, edging out the home boys at RubberTex.

1st: MRT-BMW - Daniel MELROSE: 1:04.00
2nd: RubberTex-Jones - Sammy JONES: +0.15
3rd: RubberTex-Jones - Chris DAGNALL: +0.30
4th: SAFTPHonda - Barii MORI: +0.39
5th: Manx-Anglo-Nippon - Douglas MANN: +0.46
6th: NAB-HRT - Rhys DAVIES: +0.70
7th: SAFTPHonda - Phoenix MCALLISTER: +0.71
8th: MRT-BMW - Jeroen KRAUTMEIR: +0.79
9th: NAB-HRT - Frank ZIMMER: +0.96
10th: Anglo-Manx Racing - Pippa MANN: +1.05
11th: Manx-Anglo-Nippon - Hagane SHIZUKA: +1.22
12th: Kahama Motor Sport - Kay LON: +1.26
13th: Equipe de Course Belge - Thomas DE BOCK: +1.39
14th: Prospec - Gary CAMERON: +1.48
15th: Hemogoblin Autowerks - T. HEMO GOBLIN: +1.64
16th: Prospec - Nathanael SPENCER: +1.74
17th: Team Calinetic - Nicolas STEELE: +1.86
18th: O'Lauchlan MS - Dean O'LAUCHLAN: +1.95
19th: Flying Fish MS - Resi RESPATI: +2.13

Race:

1st: Chris Dagnall (RubberTex-Jones): 36:08.74
2nd: Douglas Mann (Manx-Anglo-Nippon): +17.83
3rd: Frank Zimmer (NAB-HRT): +22.41
4th: Daniel Melrose (MRT-BMW): +25.83
5th: Jeroen Krautmeir (MRT-BMW): +26.94
6th: Kay Lon (Kahama Motor Sport): +32.68
7th: Pippa Mann (Anglo-Manx Racing): +34.05
8th: Gary Cameron (Prospec): +44.27
9th: Phoenix McAllister (SAFTPHonda): +57.47
10th: Nathanael Spencer (Prospec): +1:06.84
11th: Nicolas Steele (Team Calinetic): +1 LAP
12th: Resi Respati (Flying Fish MS): +1 LAP
13th: Thomas De Bock (Equipe de COurse Belge): +1 LAP
14th: Dean O'Lauchlan (O'Lauchlan MS): +1 LAP
15th: T. Hemo Goblin (Hemogoblin Autowerks): +2 LAPS
DNF: Hagane Shizuka (Manx-Anglo-Nippon): L1 (collision)
DNF: Rhys Davies (NAB-HRT): L1 (collision)
DNF: Sammy Jones (RubberTex-Jones): L1 (collision)
DNF: Barii Mori (SAFTPHonda): L1 (collision)
Fastest Lap: Chris Dagnall (1:05.83)

Anyone want to guess what happened at turn 1? Jones runs wide, hits the brakes, and leaves Mori with nowehere to go. Davies joins in as well, running up Mori's backside without even touching the brakes, and Shizuka catches Jones as he goes past, but makes it to Abbey before he collided with Hemo Goblin, retiring and forcing Hemo Goblin to pit for some lengthy repairs. As for the rest of the race, Dagnall easily won, never even losing his spot during the stops. Mann and Zimmer both benefitted from the carnage, and the two MRTs were lucky to be that high, with Krautmeir generally off the pace and Melrose losing bucketloads of time after a spin on the first lap as he defended from Dagnall, the only thing saving them being lightning pit stops. The only other incident of note was a 20 second time penalty to Nicolas Steele, for being, well, not exactly the most gracious backmarker ever. However, he was 32 seconds up the road from Respati, so it didn't make the slightest difference.

Drivers’ Championship (After Round 7 of 16):
1st: Chris Dagnall (45)

Daniel Melrose wrote:Even by my own standards that was a simply sensational lap that got me pole position. However I've always considered myself a one-lap specialist so whether it indicates an improvement in performance in the car is up for debate.

Onto the race and even without the first lap spin I probably wouldn't have been able to hold a candle to Dagnall who was extrodinary out there displaying the natural talent and ability he's always had although I believe I could have finished on the podium without the spin. Jeroen did a good job in the other car and was consistantly in the top 10 all weekend and was rewarded with his first points finish of the year.

MCALLISTER JAILED AFTER HARMING JONES

Today, we've assisted completely perplexed to one of the most barbaric scense we'ver ever seen in a motor racing circuit. After the Silverstone round of the F1RWRS season, Phoenix McAllister went to the garage of the RubberTex-Jones Racing outfit and began to hit Sammy Jones hard with his fists, after which he threw a rotten papaya at him. McAllister was prevented from further harming Jones by the security staff at the circuit, and was immediately arrested and taken to the local police precinct. It is expected that he'll be freed after paying a 20.000 pounds bond.
It shortly after transpired that Sammy Jones declared he was going to run McAllister's team-mate Barii Mori off the track should he be close to him. McAllister threatened Jones after that. Then, in the race, Sammy Jones ran wide at the first corner and hit the brakes in front of Mori, forcing a collision which made both drivers retire on the spot, as well as NAB driver Rhys Davies, who allegedly didn't even brake before colliding Mori. Rhys Davies also expressed his wish to perjudicate Barii Mori in the race. The F1 Rejects Board, presided by Enoch Law and Jamie McGregor, has declared that it'll investigate the case.
As for Sammy Jones, he was taken to the closest hospital with a broken nose, but he's declared that is perfectly fine, though he refused to give more declarations. Likewise, neither Rhys Davies nor any member of the SATPF outfit wanted to give any declarations, except for Phoenix McAllister which said that Sammy Jones and Rhys Davies were "f... up.

Sorry, but after seeing the first lap developments and the dogfight before the race, I just HAD to make this  Besides, it gives me a good opportunity to improve my journalistic skills :D

Autosport wrote:MELROSE - I'll help Dagnall if neccesary

MRT's lead driver Daniel Melrose in a one on one interview with Autosport has revealed that he hasn't given up on his admittingly low championship chances but he has revealed that he will help Former F1 World Champion Chris Dagnall to the championship if need be.

"Chris has always been an inspritation for me during my career and has been a great help especially in my early days at Minardi when he was my Race Engineer" said the Australian. "Our championship quest at MRT this season isn't over yet but when it is we'll throw all our support to Dagnall and the guys at Rubber-Tex Jones."

When Melrose was asked about the apparent rift between Sammy Jones and Barii Mori he had this to say: "I have had the privilege to race against Jones in my time in F1 and I remember several great battles with him on track with two examples in particular coming to mind (Hungary 2006 and Italy 2007) and I highly respect him as a driver on track and off the track. However from experience Sammy has quite a short temper at times when I think back to one race when I accidentally squeezed him wide at the start sending him to the back of the field (China 2006). From memory Jones is also one of the most experienced drivers in Formula One history with about 200 odd starts so I for one would be on his side."

Autosport wrote:Race Bans Likely?

After the events at Silverstone, it is rumoured that the governing body will be handing out some race bans, these will include a three race ban for Phoenix McAllister for his unsportsman like behavour after the race and bringing the sport into dispripute, a two race ban for Sammy Jones for unsportsman like conduct on and off the track when he ran Barii Mori off the track, a one race ban for Rhys Davies for unsportsman like conduct when he failed to brake and ploughed straight into the back of Barii Mori and a one race ban for Barii Mori for unsportsman like conduct off the track.

Barii Mori said to us before he left the track, "I am disappointed in Sammy Jones, I hope he thinks about what he has done and retires before the end of the season and takes up a sport that he can use his agression, maybe syncronised swimming or flower arranging. As for Rhys Davies, I am sure that NAB will not be happy at the repair bill nor at the points lost. Still I thank my team mate Phoenix for standing up for what was right, even if he did get a night in the cells and a massive bail, Sammy Jones has been told not to press charges as SAFTP have instructed their lawyers to start proceedings against RubberTex-Jones for attempted murder."

Before anyone asks I know Cameron, Steele and White didn't say they were interested but I need to make this slightly more credible

I was hoping that Daniel Martins would shine in that competition at this race... Oh, well, next race then (if the car becomes any good that is).
