What was this crap about random race results? That's 6 straight DNFs, how is that random?

Sorry. But I am getting really annoyed with this.

Seems like Jordan and Benetton has the biggest difference between the drivers: at Jordan, Melrose scored all points, and at Benetton, I scored all bar 1! Can you say one-horse team? (Aside from the one-time only point scoring teams, like Lola)

Well, my apologies to James Davies for colliding with him in the Adelaide hairpin while it was raining. A double DNF for Minardi; disappointing, to say the least.

Damon Cannon commiserates with you, for he suffered 4 straight DNFs in the first 4 races, although two of them were the fault of a certain Mastercard Lola driver who decided he didn't need to use brakes...

Interesting.

Benetton seems to be upgrading the car? Or is it the Renault engine that gives us and Williams a bit of a boost before they quit?
Nevertheless, we're in the top 10, but let's not get egoistic: we need to concentrate on the race. I don't think I will finish this one though.

Daniel Melrose wrote:That was without a shadow of a doubt the best race I have ever been in. The four of us out front spent lap after lap duking it out for top spot. Nick was incredibly unlucky at the end as he was leading the train out of Woodcote but got boxed in by De Bock infront and Cannon alongside. Douglas got a run at Damon and I thought I was going to get all of them at the end but fell just short. Even then this is the most satisfactory 3rd place finish I've ever gotten.

This was an interesting retirement...
I was running right behind Barii Mori, when his onboard camera fell off, hit his rear wing, which broke down, but the camera kept falling back, hit my front right suspension and it was over for both of us! I had no idea what broke my suspension until Mori came over to our motorhome with two stewards having the replay with them.

Can you say unlucky?

Which is what indirectly led to my retirement. As they came up to lap me for the first time, I was so keen to get out of my brother's way that I accidently chucked it off through the Maggotts/Becketts complex. Sorry Mr Broadley!

Douglas Mann wrote:Geez, that was stressful. I don't want to have to go through all that again. So glad that none of us made an error and took anybody else off - I was so tired by the end due to all that concentration. Yet I just won, and now the three of us are seperated by 3 points. How close can it be?

With my Sauber being so slow and all, I was also following the race (when you all lapped me, I had a great view of that heated battle) and didn't want to block anyone, but you were all taking up the whole track and I did what I always do in that situation: stay close to the inside. Anyway, I'll just say that the finish was thrilling. I did have a front-row seat for it...

Koczo didn't finish the race because he was 2 laps down, so parked the car in the pits and watched a final battle for the race win.

Yay, a third place! I'm satisfied with this result as now I'm sixth in the drivers' and the team is fifth in the constructors' championship. Congratulations to Mori and of course James, who finally pulled out a better result than me after Melbourne! :D

Douglas Mann wrote:I think I must be suffering from severe concussion. My own teammate take me off at the first bend? That's not what happened was it? He wouldn't dare would he? I thought it was another tight race between Damon, Daniel and myself until we came up to lap an unknown backmarker, and we all tripped over each other, quite by mistake, which cost Daniel several positions and put Damon and I out of the race. Maybe not then. Damn, my head hurts... :x
