We've all but given up on 2012 as there will be no further updates for either car except for packages for the season finale at Indy to make them Oval-ready. We can also confirm that Dean O'Lauchlan's car at Indy is to run a special Air Alaska livery. UPS will remain the title sponsor for O'Lauchlan's car next year while we can confirm that the Alaskan Government will provide minor sponsorship for O'Lauchlan's car next season.

This race was the first I've seen this year with two pit stop periods, and those who pitted first won big time, most notably both MRTs. Only one racing incident occured, with Simpson losing control at turn 9, before being hit by Kekkonen and Steele, too busy battling to notice the floundering Minardi. Otherwise, a rather boring race until the last 10 or so laps, with a truly epic battle between Watkinson and Lon for the win. A somewhat ominous sign is this is now Lon's 5th 2nd of the season, but he's yet to post a win. But if we look at the standings:
Drivers’ Championship (After Round 12 of 16):
1st: Kay Lon (67)
2nd: Chris Dagnall (62)
3rd: Pippa Mann (56)
4th: Daniel Melrose (43)
5th: Rhys Davies (36)
6th: Ashley Watkinson (34)
7th: James Davies (32)

10th: Nathanael Spencer (29)
= 11th: Sammy Jones (27)

13th: Frank Zimmer (23)
14th: Hagane Shizuka (20)
15th: Gary Cameron (19)
16th: Darren Older Jr (16)
17th: Dave Simpson (14)
18th: David Koczo (7)
19th: Jari Kekkonen (6)
= 20th: Richie White (5)
= 20th: Barii Mori (5)
= 22nd: Tristan Jung (4)
= 22nd: T. Hemo Goblin (4)
24th: Luca Pacchiarini (2)
25th: Damon Cannon (1)
Teams’ Championship:
1st: RubberTex-Jones Racing (89)
2nd: Anglo-Manx Racing (88)
3rd: NAB-Holden Racing Team (83)
4th: Qantas MRT-BMW (72)
5th: Kahama Motor Sport (67)
6th: Manx-Anglo-Nippon Racing Team (50)
7th: Prospec (45)
8th: Team Phoenix(33)
9th: CR Motorsport (17)
10th: OzJet Team Minardi Australia (14)
11th: Hemogoblin Autowerks/American Racing Conglomerate (12)*

13th: ArrowTech ART (6)
14th: Group Lotus (5)*
15th: Trueba Racing Team (4)
16th: Pacchia-Coswojuddhartlambo (2)*
So at this point, with four races to go, there seems to be three drivers with a good shot at the title, but maybe 8 more that can rocket into proper contention with a few wins.

But I'm so glad that NAB-HRT just let me jump into one of their cars and drive the wheels off of it! It's a superb machine and I'm honoured to take a win for them.
As for Kay Lon, I must say that I finally respect the guy now. He gave me a firm and fair fight for the win and it's clear to see why he's in contention for the title. It's only a matter of time before he gets his first win. To be honest, I think he could do better than to race for Kahama. I'd love to be team-mates with him at some point, it could be the start of a wonderful friendship...

Minardi/Sunshine Infiniti unveil yet another new livery
For the fourth time this season, the Minardi team have unveiled a new livery, this time in support of the Japanese natural disaster relief effort. The team were effected both physically and emotionally by the disaster. Some sponsors had to pull out because of the disaster, as it wasn't financially viable for them in times of rebuilding.
This is a cool spot.

That was a simply brilliant strategic call from Jack for bringing me in during the first pitstop phase while Alex did the same thing for Jeroen's car a lap later which thrust both of us solidly in points contention for the rest of the afternoon. If we can keep up this momentum until the end of the season we can take some form and alot of lessons from this season into next season when the new regulations are enforced.

To say there was a little bit of attrition is an understatement. Every retirement, with the exception of Mori, Melrose and Cameron, was at Griffin's Bend or the Cutting, usually hitting the outside wall. Mori simply didn't brake at the Chase, and took Melrose with him. Cameron ended a simply brilliant battle with Katayama for fourth when they made light contact through the Esses, and Cameron was launched into the wall at the Dipper. In the end, De Bock won with what was the fastest remaining undamaged car. Actually, now that I think about it, are there two unrejectifications here?

Munich based squad MRT revealed their 2013 livery on one of the team's older M3 chassis. The main changes are the Marussia Virgin-esque nosecone and new sponsors Ray Ban and Expro as a result of 2011 F1RWRS Champion Nathaniel Spencer joining the team. The livery will be run for all the international races for 2013 while in the Australian races Spencer will run the Jetstar livery which has been run for the past 2 seasons in Australia while Melrose will run an Australian Air Express livery to promote QANTAS's domestic freight carrier.

However I am glad I scored some good team points and get us into the top 10.

Sammy Jones wrote:After what have been two fairly lacklustre results for the team, despite Chris' pole position at the last race at Bathurst, it's pleasing to see that we're still in the hunt for both championships. Confidence within the team remains high, with only three races to go I'm certain that we'll try our utmost to secure one of them at the very least.

Today marked the unveiling of Sammy Jones' brand new challenger for the 2013 season of the F1RWRS. With the loss of stakeholder and main backer RubberTex Rubber Chickens in the aftermath of the public spat with Phoenix McAllister and his team part-way through the 2012 season, Sammy Jones has been forced to search for a new backer, and found a willing one in Phillip Morris and its Marlboro brand of cigarettes. Despite some controversy over the deal, Jones had this to say to the media at the press conference:
"I'm absolutely delighted to be able to announce our new backers today, Marlboro, with our brand new livery on the MJR-201 which will contest next year's F1RWRS season. We hope to go even better than this year, with both drivers at the front pushing for wins and the championships. Both drivers will remain unchanged, with myself driving alongside experienced veteran Chris Dagnall who remains in contention for the 2012 championship. Ideally we'd like to go into 2013 having won the constructors title which we currently lead, but regardless of our results this year, we're looking forward to another productive season next year!"

Re: F1RWRS - A computerised F1Reject series
Resi Respati, lone driver of Flying Fish Motorsports has confirmed that the team have secured Autobacs as their main sponsor. The Super Aguri car should be painted orange and white as the team's official livery, but to honor the victims of the Japan earthquake, the car will be painted simply white, with the red Rising Sun in both sides of the engine cover for the next race.
Subsequently, Flying Fish Motorsports have also signed FedEx as official logistics partner and Castrol as fuel & oil supplier.
"We believe that these array of new sponsors will help our development in the future." said Respati.

So it takes Fedex a full season to confirm the rumours that they are going to sponsor a team.

Well, during the first half of the season we're about to turn down their sponsorship offer and thought of taking over Group Baha(hahaha)r.
But then we thought... well... nevermind.

Pacchiarini finally wins! The Pacchia was actually competitive here, although it lost a bit of speed after the pit stops, while Spencer's Prospec gained some. A few battles raged all race, with the 11th-15th battle being the big one. Martins retired when he collided with Katayama at the hairpin, missing his braking point. He wasn't the only one to do that, but was the only one to hit someone.
