That is Ayrton Senna at the F1 test the McLaren team held on 28th October 1983 at Silverstone, just two days after the end of the British F3 championship as a part of the prize, thanks to Marlboro. That year, both Martin Brundle and Stefan Bellof were invited as well. I couldn´t find the time sheets, but Herbie Blash of Brabham was spying and timed Senna, who managed a 1.13.9. Ayrton said this about the test:
"The Mclaren is easy to drive, the steering is smoother than my F3 Ralt. I´m sure that, given more laps, I´d have been able to get into 1,12´s, even though it was a bit uncomfortable, with my right leg not completely straight, which made it difficult to fully control the throtle. As I´m familiar to the track, it wasn´t hard to reach 1,13s"
Ron Dennis said;
"They all were mature and obviously they scored good times. They would have all qualified for the Grand Prix, which is impressive. Senna da Silva´s time was specially good given the weather conditions, but of course he had the advantage of having driven a Formula One car before"
