Autosport wrote:THE RETURN OF JONES RACING
During the Bathurst race weekend for the F1RWRS, former driver and team owner Sammy Jones made an emphatic annoucement on his return to the series. Surrounded by scantily clad women and loud music, he revealed the details of his reformed team which will contest the remainder of the 2013 season.
"Yes this is the return of Jones Racing, after a few months of uncertainty, I've finally decided to go for it once more with the series, I'll admit that my decision at the end of last year was probably a little premature, but nonetheless that's all water under the bridge now, what matters from now on is that Jones Racing is back and determined to succeed, starting with this bloody pre-qualifying lottery mess! We've secured some superb new backers, and it's my pleasure to present sponsorship from both British Petroleum via it's Castrol brand, and also Nabisco with it's Oreo brand of biscuits. The car itself is a completely new design from last year, after some simulation work, the MJR-201 was also canned for being hopelessly off the pace, but in it's place the team is delighted to present the CJR-201B which we are very confident will provide us with more success, building on last year's fantastic achievements. This complete re-design will be powered by a supply of Ford HBD VI engines which whilst a compromise on our previous deal with Renault, are still pretty handy powerplants and we'll be trying to get as much out of them as we can. Finally in terms of drivers, I will be returning to the track in the first car, whilst I'm hopeful that Kay Lon will sign as second driver as currently negotiations are still being carried out. All that's left is to prepare for the upcoming third round of the championship!"
Okay so the formalities of all this then:
Team Name: Castrol Jones Racing
Chassis: Zakspeed 891 (to be renamed to Castrol Jones Racing CJR-201B) - 225 credits
Engine: FORD HBD VI - 600 credits
Driver 1: #39 Sammy Jones (is that numbering right?)
Driver 2: #40 Kay Lon (to be confirmed)
Which makes a total of 825 credits, leaving the team with 175 credits for driver/team upgrades.
Sound cool Aerond?
Also finally here's a livery I came up with, haven't a clue whether it will work or not. If it doesn't, play around with it Aerond so it does, as long as it's Oreo blue on top half and Castrol green/white/red on the bottom I'm happy! I think it might need #40 logos on it too but I'm not sure where they go on the template!
