Whatever you might say about the launch, I'm drooling over the look of those E63s. They look sensational. I may yet switch my allegiance from the General to Merc.
I look forward to seeing them in the flesh this Saturday ... and taking plenty of shots of 'em!

Triple 8 B Team reveal their test liveriesI really hope that they change the VIP livery before Adelaide as they've somehow managed to out-do the A-Team in the boredom stakes. Although, I do say that the Project 40 car looks quite good.
In other news,
Tim Blanchard joins the rapidly-sinking ship that is DJR

I have never really liked any of the VIP liveries, the pawprints look a bit strange on the side of a racecar.

The point of a test livery is that they only use it for the test
![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
I fully expect SVG to be in a black car come Adelaide. As for Webb, he might think the cop livery is a good idea, but he's forgetting that he'll be driving in Western Sydney...
And good news about Blanchard, because it means he won't be driving the second LDM. Which is now the only unconfirmed seat on the grid (strange, considering apparently Paul Morris has been confirmed in it for the enduros...)

And now one begins to understand just how colossally horrible the FPR livery is. And that's before you take a look at the even worse orange side of the car. Although, I must say the Merc looks much better now that it's on the track and not in some arena in Homebush.

And the 55 Reynolds car was revealed, it would have looked ok if not for a stupid and out of place black stripe
EDIT: and so was Wall's car, which looks exactly the same as it did last year

I quite like the Bottle-O car actually. The black stripe suits it quite well, although I suspect part of it is due to the fact the shade of green is considerably darker from last year.

I guess there is some poetic justice in this world; not only are the two works FPR Falcons ugly as hell, they're dead slow as well. Unless their sandbagging, in which case the Altimas are probably a touch lower down the order than they are right now.
And if Erebus keep this up, Eurobrun will be more on the money than we gave him credit for. And as much as I like you Mr Hamilton, we simply cannot have that.

Man, that thing sounds great.
Reminds me of the old Lola A1GP cars, except even angrier and infinitely better than the exhaust notes of the old Kelly Commodores, which tried to do the same thing and failed miserably.

They've trialed a different exhaust system on the Todd Kelly car back when it was still Perkins at Bathurst one year and they've stuck with it on all the Kelly and Perkins built machines ever since. Sounds like a poor man's F3 car if you ask me

20 bucks says BJR are showboatingAlthough, I wouldn't mind seeing a season of BJRWINSLOL. And it's good to see the Triple 8 C-Team taking it to Tekno and Triple 8. Taz Douglas must be kicking himself right now after seeing how quick those T8 Commodores are though.

I'd promote LDM to B-team status - did you see what number was on the window of Fiore's car?

Ah, forgot about that. However, what will happen in the off-chance that the A-team lose the title this year?

In other news, I'm willing to go up with an avatar challenge with someone because I personally believe we'll see someone set a 2:05 at Bathurst this year. If today is anything to go by, they're already quicker than last year and they haven't even gotten their hands on the Dunlop 'not as hard as the control tyre but still rock hard by anyone else's standards' tyre yet.

Could it be, that they're using some old DTM exhausts? Because before 2012, the DTM C-Classes had a similar exhaust note.

it does sound A LOT like the old DTM exhaust now that i think about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLTIQ_ENHo8 a small mix of sound from 2007 to 2010
the exhaust regulations are a bit more relaxed than i thought. why don't teams/manufacturers give their cars unique sounds? the Nissan could sound different maybe like a World Series car from 2003 or even this LMP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IozEMRNz2x8edit: i realize that(much like DTM) this is the first season in a long time where more than 2 Manufacturers are taking part. they are still experimenting with stuff and things will probably differ better next season.

Indeed. Fabian Coulthard's turning out to be a very solid operator while Jason Bright showed us all in 2003 just what he's capable of doing in an inferior car (I mean, having a customer Walkinshaw is bad enough, having the older model VX against the VY and not being allowed to test at all for most of the year made his and Paul Well Racing's performances that year all the better.) It's just a shame that his form around Enduro season killed off any momentum he built up in the championship title hunt before that point.

That's a shame, and it shows how no politicians in Australia, whether it's the Queenslanders with Surfers, the Victorians with Albert Park or NSW with Homebush, have any idea how to handle motorsport.
It had better be one race because there's no point sending your regular drivers up to the Gold Coast to do 30 laps. Not for the Melbourne teams, anyway.

Although come to think of it, one 600km race would probably lead to about 7 finishers. Not that it's a bad thing as some attrition is long-overdue in the V8s anyway. Plus, having three enduros suddenly makes having a wildcard entry for the new 'Endurance Cup' an enticing prospect. Assuming that the big three car builders (Triple 8, Walkinshaw and FPR) actually have a few spare cars they can flog off before then.

Well, Ingall's already scheduled to get a new car before May, so there'll be at least 1 spare Walkinshaw by then, T8 should have a few as well.

From what I saw of him in the Carrera Cup he is a fairly good driver. They could do much worse. Oh wait, they have with Blanchard.
