Well i dont agree with Ed Straw on that ....lol....

Jaime may have of only outqualified Sebastian 4 times...but hes the one ahead in the tables...and race day is the only thing that matters....as its points that matter...Jaimes ultimatly ahead and hell stay there...unless Buemi wins... which would be nice actually.... xD

What is it with Pedro de le Rosa and coming in & out of F1? Even in his early years, he had a knack for it, missing the 1st 4 races of 2001 for instance.

- New owners trying to break the "Hispania Racing" image.
- 45 new team personnel added to Valencia base.
- Colin Kolles is now only the TP and not the person with all the contracts for team personnel/trucks/equipment etc.
- 60/70% of team by next year will be Spanish.

Very interesting, and also very good for the future viability of the team. I hope it pays off for them because it seems they have a good plan, that's been worked out quite well. I just hope they can actually get a car out next year that is a genuine improvement on the last.

They've now got to try and close the gap to the midfield. They got a decent amount of prize money for finishing 10th. Hopefully the added personnel push the development of their new car so they get to actually test it before the first race.

This is bad news because I liked the heroic rejects image that I had from them. And I enjoyed to see that they are far (one place in the standings, actually) from the worse team in the grid. We obviously amused ourselves with some of their antics, but in the end this made their victory over the Marussias even greater and better. A shame really.

Luckily the two points above could signify that they might be more amateurish than "Hispania Racing" next year, which would be ironic. I apologize to Spanish members for any offence they could take from this sentence but despite the recent run of success in all forms of sport the image that I still have from All-Spanish sporting efforts is that they are chronic underachievers. It might change next year though.

I'm actually kind of split on whether or not I want HRT to be successful. I enjoy the whole nostalgic late 80's-early 90's new team vibe, and Minardi thrived at the back of the grid for years, after all, so they can survive there as well. But at the same time, if they do become regular points-scorers, I'd be ever so pleased that they actually made it that far. I'd be more impressed with them taking several years to claw their way into the midfield than I was with Honda/Brawn's 1 year turnaround from 2008-2009.

Yet they don't want to change the HRT acronym because of some dubious reasons, like "it might be useful in the future, just like RBR meant Red Bull Racing before and Red Bull Renault now" (I read it a few days ago in a Spanish interview). That way they won't stop being related to Hispania, because that's what HRT stands for. Most people in Spain, who don't follow F1, still refer to the team as "Hispania". The day DLR was announced as a driver for the team, "Hispania" became TT in Twitter, and not HRT.

They indeed look amateurish, and I don't think they are going to become regular point scorers anytime soon. So, don't dispair yet - I believe they are fully on track to become the Spanish Minardi, if they already aren't. After all, Adrián Campos was involved with the team, and Luis Pérez-Sala is now. Next, they need to get some backing from Telefonica, hire Juan Villalonga... well, that's not needed, they already did that when Carabante was ruling the team! and hire Marc Gené as a second driver. Alonso would be the ideal one but he won't be available before 2017...

What I like about HRT: being realistic and conscious. Colles and team improving steadily, step by step.
What I don't like about Marussia: looking forward to get a podium in Russia-2014. Uh? Get better than HRT first.

I've seen it too. I hope that this is true and they will definitely humiliate that Branson's toy Virgin Racing is.
Today HRT in their latest statement denied their supposed co-op with Caterham.

However, I do think that the FIA has tried to introduce other measures to prevent Flavio returning to the sport (assuming that he wants to return at all - after his legal action he did say that he had fallen out of love with F1 and was turning to managing his other business assets instead), so I'll only believe that Flavio wants to return to the sport when he is in the paddock. And from the point of view of any team, Flavio's reputation is fairly toxic now and could potentially drive away sponsors who don't wish to be assosciated with him.

As for the HRT-Renault talk, it is true that Renault would be prepared to sell engines to HRT (they want to take on one more customer team in addition to their current line up). However, HRT haven't made any public moves towards Renault recently, possibly in part because a new engine deal, unless it was organsied a fair way in advance, would compromise the design of the car (Williams wanted the Renault engine deal sorted out quite early in the year so they could design their 2012 challenger around the new engine as soon as possible, since there would be changes in the packaging and cooling requirements for the engine bay). Given that there are rumours that HRT may be using the current car as a base for their 2012 design (including the current monocoque design, which is itself a derivative of Dallara's 2010 design), changing engines at this stage could result in an expensive redesign job - and had they signed the deal already, I would have expected either Renault or HRT to have announced it by now (because why would it be in the interests of Renault, for example, to hide such a deal?)

interesting if they are going to use the basic design again pretty much minardi esque (ps02-04b) I think if they did then they should be able to squeeze more time out if it provided they have a decent pre season testing plan and updates. WIll be interesting to see how much hrt and mvr make up in the next 2 months

I believe it not to be the case that HRT are using this years monocoque for next years car. It will be a clean sheet design from what I hear due to HRT having a design team in place. Maybe HRT are waiting for the FIA to come back to them re using the Renault engines.

I still think they should have tried harder to avoid the TMG deal collapsing last year. I bet a 3rd generation TF110 will be better than the box of crap they inevitably churn out three races into the season :roll:
