Brundle just said uttered the irritating 'Renault sandwich comment, for Hulkenberg being between Petrov and Kubica. Legard's nonsense is rubbing off on Brundle.

Guesstimate. Brundle annoys me when he says that.

What was all that cork and champagne talk all about? It lasted for about 15 laps. Leggard trying to elaborate on it was just, well, sad...

A rare foray into watching Speed yesterday, due to a rare foray into being in America, I noticed that the older-sounding of the two British commentators twice said that a driver hadn't put a thought into another driver trying to pass them.

Not a commentator thing specifically, but I get oddly irritated by the American pronunciation of the letter a as an o - eg, Filipe Mossa, Fernondo Alonso.

Mark Blundell's misuse of the English language used to annoy me, in particular the word "what" - eg, "the championship what Schumacher just won".

Not F1 but relevant, US Racing commentary, primarily Indycar, plugging the programme that is on directly after the race, while something important is going on upon the tarmac, and not giving a damn.

Eddie Jordan has to get an honorable mention for the BBC Abu Dabi coverage. His idea of interviewing is to gabble on at high speed whilst the bemused interviewee can't get a word in edgeways. Best illustrated by his interview with Mattersich after the race, where Dieter managed about three words. Also similar story whilst he messed up Brundles grid walk.

His habit of handshaking everyone he meets on the grid or in the pitlane can be also be a little wearing. But I did enjoy the moment on the grid when he stuck his hand out, and the bloke just brushed straight past him. :)

On the other side, Eddie Jordan's effort on the F1 Forum after the race to get an interview with Vettel was TV gold. He near enough assaulted some of the Red Bull mechanics. Infact, the whole forum this season has been brilliant, almost my favourite part of the race weekend. People letting their hair down while still on TV (even though they know it's not quite proper TV) is great to watch. Improvised live TV containing an Irish man who finds it difficult to construct coherent sentences, while at the same time being incredibly passionate and opinionated, while everyone else on the grid takes the mickey, and he takes it with good humour. Yes, that is worth it.

The ultimate proof of Legard's droning was demonstrated in qualifying when he even managed to make The Bet Of The Century seem bland and mundane. The man has no sense of drama at all.

Leggard was on form in the last race.

My favourite moments:

About the Force India going on the inside of Kubica (When Kubica was overtaking around the outside)

Lotus loosing his "front wing", when his back wing was dragging on the floor! And when Brundle corrected him, he replied "Front wing, back wing, same thing". Maybe I got it wrong...

That bit really got on my nerves. You're a commentator and you got it wrong, it happens. Brundle corrects him so the viewer doesn't get confused and Legard gets overly defensive as if Brundle is having a go at him. I wonder if Legard knows his job is far from secure and is getting stressed over them kind of mistakes now.

Yeah, I remeber when Murray made mistakes, and Martin corrected it, he nearly laughed

MW: Oh, look, there is smoke from Schumacher's car!!!!
MB: He locked his tyres, they tend to smoke when they are locked Murray

Kinda reminds me of the legendary Matti Kyllönen/Keke Rosberg quote from a mid-nineties race. (Liberally translated)

MK: Oh no! There is smoke coming out of the pipes at the back of JJ's car!
KR: Matti, we professionals call those pipes Exhausts.

Or another from the same pairing, Imola 91

MK: Unbeliveable! JJ is Third! A Finn has NEVER been this high!
KR: *VERY Dryly* Well, I did win that championship you know...
*awkward silence*

To be fair at Kyllönen, he was a very Murrayesque commentator, i.e easily excitable and very prone to mistakes in his enthusiasm. But yes, the chemistry between him and Keke worked like a charm.
