Well, 228 laps, 1000km left to go in the 2005 season to determine who will win the GT500 and GT300 titles. Let's get going!

GT500
1 M. Salo/K. Hirate (Nippon Nagoya) 7:17:44.883
D. Ito/R. Lyons (Dynamite Racing Team) DNF lap 207
R. Firman/H. Noda (Advan Racing Team) DNF lap 191
A. Lotterer/B. Treluyer (Zuken ENEOS IBR) DNF lap 141
C. Fittipaldi/S. Nakano (Grand Honshu Racing) DNF lap 99
R. Michigami/A. Iida (Project KivaSport) DNF lap 94
S. Yamamoto/Y. Tachikawa (ARTA) DNF lap 61
J. Dufour/T. Kaneishi (Castrol Racing Team) DNF lap 41
O. Beretta/S. Motoyama (Equinox-Lamb Racing) DNF lap 25
H. Matsushita/J. Courtney (Panasonic TOM'S Racing) DNF lap 21
J. Paulo De Oliverira/T. Tsuchiya (Hayate Auto Garage) DNF lap 18
H. Mitsusada/R. Collard (Takagi Racing Enterprises) DNF lap 17
L. Duval/H. Mutoh (Fireball Racing) DNF lap 16
C. Bouchut/T. Takagi (Denso Pulsar Racing) DNF lap 9

Nippon Nagoya won the race in GT500, at least kivasport can stay afloat because they were classified 6th despite not finishing!

GT300
1 Y. Ide/T. Matsuda (ARTA) 7:20:12.239
2 H. Matsuda/H.P. Tung (Panasonic TOM'S Racing) 7:21:16.634
Y. Kunimoto/S. Ara (Fireball Racing) DNF lap 159
R. Fukuda/N. Fontana (Takagi Racing Enterprises) DNF lap 104
N. Taniguchi/M. Apicella (MMC IBR) DNF lap 101
T. Scheider/K. Sasaki (Equinox-Lamb Racing) DNF lap 77
N. Hattori/T. Suzuki (Grand Honshu Racing) DNF lap 70
T. Yamano/H. Kurosawa (Dynamite Racing Team) DNF lap 42
A. Couto/A. Zuber (Nippon Nagoya) DNF lap 21
H. Yoshimoto/J.M. Gounon (Xanavi Pulsar Racing) DNF lap 9

ARTA won the race in GT300 from Pole, Panasonic TOM'S finished 2nd. So let's see the final results for both classes.

GT500
Grand Honshu racing 31 pts
Castrol racing team 26 pts
Hayate Auto garage 24 pts
Fireball racing 24 pts
ARTA 23 pts
Equinox-lamb racing 23 pts
Dynamite racing team 23 pts
Nippon Nagoya 21 pts
Zuken ENEOS IBR 19 pts
Advan Racing team 19 pts
Takagi Racing Enterprises 15 pts
Denso Pulsar racing 5 pts
Project Kiva Sport 3 pts
Panasonic TOM’S racing 1 pt

With a 5th place classification in the race and none of the other contenders classified in the top 6, Grand Honshu has won the GT500 title.

GT300
Nippon Nagoya 36 pts
Equinox-lamb racing 30 pts
Dynamite racing team 27 pts
MMC IBR 24 pts
Fireball Racing 24 pts
Takagi Racing Enterprises 22 pts
ARTA 22 pts
Xanavi Pulsar Racing 18 pts
Grand Honshu racing 16 pts
Panasonic TOM’S racing 15 pts

Despite Equinox-Lamb's hard efforts in the race, in the end, Nippon Nagoya's points lead in GT300 was too much for them to overcome and as a result, Nippon Nagoya has won the GT300 Title!

Does listening to a dog licking its balls get you excited?

I'm already running ARTA in GT500 and GT300. Please choose a different team.

Autosport wrote:IBR to leave Japan

Il Barone Rampante, owner of both the GT500 Zuken ENEOS and GT300 Mitsubishi Motors teams, has elected to call it quits at the end of the current Super GT campaign, electing to focus on their European activities in the meantime.

The former F1 constructor has struggled for success in the early part of the new millenium, and their Super GT form was only reasonable at best, picking up a single victory this season in the GT300 class with Marco Apicella and Norberto Taniguchi.

This means all their current drivers - André Lotterer, Benoît Tréluyer, Apicella and Taniguchi will also have to find seats elsewhere for next season.
