Holland strategy:
Soft 21 laps - soft 23 laps - soft 23 laps

The main goal is to beat the bloody Belgians, and so far, we did that in style.

New Zealand will go on softs for the first 20 laps before switching to hards to the end.

South Africa on the other hand, will do the other way round with hards until lap 48 before going onto softs for the rest of the time.

Jan Ripper will try his luck and will start out on softs, then pit in for a fresh set of softs on lap 11, and then pit in on lap 35 for... yet another set of softs.
Zdenek Pohl, on the other hand, will go for a more conservative approach and start out on softs, then pit in on lap 25 to put on a hard compound.

Spain will do 28 laps on soft and do the rest of the distance on Hards.

Conversely, France will do 43 laps on the hard tire and finish the race on the softs.

Not set in stone yet but sometime around 8 or 9pm.

EDIT

I am forced to cancel the commentary due to an issue that has cropped up with my keyboard, six of my letter keys are not working properly and you can imagine how difficult that makes typing. I will still be running the race tonight however.

Until earlier today, I had completely overlooked that Donnington wasn't in use between 1939 and the 70s. So instead we will go to Thruxton!

1952 English A1 Grand Prix Qualifying

David Murray scores a surprise pole for Scotland from Fangio while Ascari only manages 6th.

1. SCO David Murray 1:15.780
2. ARG Juan Manuel Fangio +0.110
3. FRA Maurice Trintignant +0.164
4. ENG Peter Collins +0.178
5. BRD Hans Stuck +0.265
6. ITA Alberto Ascari +0.335
7. MON Louis Chiron +0.525
8. NED Dries van der Lof +0.565
9. BEL Johnny Claes +0.590
10. WAL Charles Headland +0.633
11. NZL Jack Tutton +0.672
12. SUI Toulo de Graffenried +0.705
13. BRA Chico Landi +0.823
14. DDR Ernst Klodwig +0.890
15. CAN Hal Robson +0.915
16. IRE Joe Kelly +0.927
17. NIR Desmond Titterington +0.995
18. DMR Porfirio Rubirosa +1.109
19. ESP Paco Godia +1.134
20. USA Tony Bettenhausen +1.161
21. AUS Jack Brabham +1.283
22. DEN Robert Nelleman +1.342
23. SWE Erik Lundgren +1.413
24. POR Fernando Mascarenhas +1.612
25. GUA Jaroslav Juhan +1.689
26. URU Eitel Cantoni +1.825
27. FIN Curt Lincoln +2.164
28. THA B. Bira +2.217
29. CHI Raul Jaras +2.768
30. VEN Ettore Chimeri +2.816
31. COL Juan Riu +3.246
32. CZE Vaclav Hovorka +3.399
33. POL Tadek Marek +3.608
34. RSA Ernest Geering +3.658
35. MEX Corona Illescas +4.501
36. PER Luis Astengo Albizuri +5.018

You may now set your strategies.

The race will be 80 laps.
Hard tyres should last around 60 laps
Soft tyres should last 35 laps

However rain is expected around 20 laps in and expected to last around 30 minutes. Therefore you must choose between.

Wet or dry setup.
Conservative or risky strategy.

A conservative strategy will just have you change between dries and wets whenever the weather changes. A risky strategy will have you take gambles such as switching to dries earlier than the rest of the field in the hope of gaining an advantage.

I take it the wet tires will not wear dramatically in the 30 minutes of rain?

Either way both Spain and France will start of Softs and keep driving until either a) it rains or b) it is lap 25.
From there it will be driving on the wet tires until it dries (unless it does not rain in which case hard to the end of the race)
France will go conservative though Spain will go for the aggressive approach in order to try and make an opportunity from the chaos.

Belgium, Sweden and the Dominican Republic will share the same strategy, going for a dry setup and a risky strategy. They will all start on hards, and weather changes notwithstanding, will switch to new hard tyres around midway, lap 35 for Belgium, lap 40 for Sweden and lap 45 for the Dominican Republic.

South Africa will go for a risky move with a dry setup. We will start on soft until lap 18 where we will switch to wets, then on lap 35 we will go on hards to the finish.

New Zealand on the other hand will do it the opposite and start also on soft until the rain comes down. Then on lap 38 we will switch on softs until lap 62 where we will pit the final time for softs.

Peru will not pit at all to see what happens
Mexico will take the risky strategy and dry setup
