Well, I can already think of two examples that may confirm this theory, both involving Force India:
-Giancarlo Fisichella taking pole and second place in the race at Spa 2009, followed by his disastrous race at Monza for Ferrari.
-Adrian Sutil taking a front row starting place and 4th overall in Monza 2009 before having a sheer moment of brain fade at Singapore, ending Heidfeld's finishing streak.

Petrov's 5th place at Hungary, and then a avoidable mistake in qualifying in Belgium. Fair play to him as he did make it up during the race.

How about Vitaly Petrov? Nobody expected him to do so well in fending off Alonso in Turkey, and even though he lost a points finish thanks to a cut tyre, he still got fastest lap out of the deal. The next race in Canada was an absolute shocker for him, on the over hand. If you change it to include the entire race weekend, you can add three more examples: After scoring his first points in China, he crashed in practice in Spain, forcing a gearbox change and a 5-place grid penalty, ruining his chances of more points (he finished 11th). After having the upper hand over Kubica for the first time in Hungary, he crashes out of Q1 in Belgium with that ridiculous, 'testing the kerbs' wetness' excuse. And finally, after redeeming himself with a 9th place finish from the back with a fantastic overtake to boot in Belgium, he followed that up with that absurd block on Timo Glock in qualifying at Monza.

Sutil is a good choice. About Petrov, I don't think he falls victim to an accident since he does seem to cause them. I will throw another name: Liuzzi. Last year he was a surprisingly good 6th in Korea only to crash at Brazil and be the only retirement...

Since Crashgate came to publicity I would have liked to see that Piquet had crashed earlier than planned so he would have had no chance to help Alonso.

Oh well, for many many years ago, when I first started to explore the world of internet, I saw on a discussion forum someone called "Tom Waits for Alice". I thought that was a clever name! For 2 months ago I found out that Tom Waits is a real person... :P

You are not alone :)

i have no idea which expletive to shout at him if we come face to face.

If this would be like a certain board I am visiting occasionally as well, you'd now have a Slowpoke picture on your screen.

My rant: anyone feeling like filing a lawsuit against the FIA? I really feel robbed due to not having a thirteenth team in F1.

I'm filing in my own against the FIA because they are not sending Colin Kolles home.

And yet, Bernie's just said (again) "12 teams is too many, why can't we cut it down to 10?"

Was it him or Max who put forward the idea of having 13 teams in the first place? And why is it only a problem now and not in 1997, the last time we had 12 teams (however briefly)?

The Alguersaurus will replace Webber at Red Bull. He won't unrejectify himself, though, and will be out of F1. And, yes, I'll have this signature forever.

Some would say that Webber place at Red Bull is already set to Ricciardo.

I want McLaren to keep the drone nose throughout the season. The drivers would have to use new helmets to optimise the airflow, and the car would have so much downforce it would peel the rubber off the tyres.

I find it funny that people are complaining about the possible lack of noise from the four-cylinder turbos when it is pretty much inevitable that F1 will use electric motors which are pretty quiet even at high speeds in the future. Unless of course my dream comes true and algae fuel gets used

I really do believe in this as being the future. It doesn't detract from the food chain, it can continue working in an internal combustion engine, no new infrastructure or technology is required. So why aren't people adopting it ?!?!?!?

What has more backing:

Algae Industry (Is this even an industry?)

-OR-

Electricity Industry (includes hydroelectricity, windmill farms...)

God Liuzzi is an idiot. He could have gone to Superleague, he could have tried for an unobtainable seat in Indycar, he could have gone to sportscar and endurance racing. But nooooooo. You just had to piss your money away on a moronic drive for a team that will more than likely never compete in a grand prix again. DON'T YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU ARE DOING. YOU ARE DENYING FARUZ FAUZY HIS CHANCE TO BE A GRAND PRIX DRIVER! If Force India dumped you for Di Resta, you need to take the hint. You aren't going to get any better, and he most certainly is.

If HRT is going to suck, they need to go all out. Faruz Fauzy and Milka Duno, with Vladimir Arabadzhiev as the Friday driver.

Well, if Fauzy got the HRT seat, he'd be in the same position as Liuzzi right now...

I think you're missing my satire. I can't stand Fairuz Fauzy, he's utter crap, and has been loitering around in the upper echelons of open wheel racing by the string of his parent's checkbook. Lets get into a little career analysis.

In the GP2 Asia series, Fauzy finished 4th, behind the likes of Rommmmmaaaaaaaa Groooooojaaaaaaaaaan, Sebastian Buemi, and Vitaly Petrov, barely beating Bruno Senna (who would have finished ahead of him were he not disqualified in Dubai) and Kamui Kobayashi.

His 2nd place in the 2009 World Series standings is utterly meaningless, as he along with everyone else was curb-stomped by Bertrand Baguette, and he just barely beat GP2 mediocres Charles Pic and Oliver Turvey BOTH of which had 2 retirements, while Fauzy had none. And keep in mind, he's competing in this series after having already spent 2 seasons in GP2 and a season as Spyker's test driver.

But saving the best for last: Fauzy finished 14th in this years GP2 Asia series, scoring only 1 point. Jules Bianchi came into the final race of the season neck in neck with Romain Grojean, only to be taken out by, YOU GUESSED IT: FAIRUZ FAUZY.

To put succinctly: Fairuz Fauzy makes Alex Yoong look like Ayrton Senna.

I can picture Phoenix standing in filthy clothes on a street corner because he's Spanish.
