Ralf just trying a bit too hard there.
I really don't know what Ralf was trying to do there. Anyone could see that move was not going to work. I would fault Spengler as well but I don't know how much time he had to react (and judging from the team radio, he had none).
Which brings me to another point; why can't the race commenters shut up when the team radio is talking?

Trying to stay in front of Spengler, I'd say. He just didn't thought that cunning plan all the way through. Well, he got his penalty for that and came back to finish in the points.

That said, it looks like Ralf might well have caused more damage to his rivals than first thought - combined with a number of other accidents during that race, both BMW and Audi are now concerned that they might not be able to repair those damaged cars in time for the next race.

The 1st Round of the 2012 DTM season had actually three good candidates for ROTR:
- Obviously Ralf Schumacher for ruining three drivers races, and still managing to get into the points.
- Augusto Farfus for missing his pit crew first (Although the pit crew is to blame here) and speeding in the pit lane one lap later.
- Roberto Mehri, also for ruining two drivers races (Tomczyk and Scheider), and for an overall pretty anonymous race. On top of that, he's the reigning F3 Euro Series champion!
And this is excluding the obvious candidates for DTM-ROTR. Not because they were good, but because they weren't as bad as the three above.

I loved Clive James' honesty in asking questions. Especially to Pedro 'I didn't need money to get a drive' Diniz.

I had that show on video when I was really young, watched it to death. I remember having a running joke with my brother about what he asks Ukyo:
Ukyo, in your first Formula One season, you had three shunts. In you second you had four, and in your third, six. What are your plans for this season?

Some 'new' footage has emerged of 'Hamilton-Reverend-Gate Part One' last year in Monaco. For me, this video just confirms what I already believed, that Hamilton was easily 110% responsible for that crash.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KzbxytdHnQE#!And here's another video of the same race, with some choice comments from Ramilton. You can feel the anger boiling inside him. Go home Hamilton.

Unfortunately I didn't see the race last year, but I read all about Hamilton's playing the race card and all that. And watching the first video was as eye-opening as the video in 2007 of Hamilton's antics behind the safety car at Fuji that may have had a role in the Webber-Vettel collision, that is to say it's informative beyond anything that would ever be seen on TV.
And seeing someone comment that "anyone who says it's Hamilton's fault knows bathplug-all about racecraft" leads me to question: Since when does having 3 wheels over the kerb, taking out the bollard that was at said inside of corner, and plowing someone who was on the normal racing line into the wall constitute quality racecraft? Anyway thanks for sharing

Some quality work from the Monegasque marshals there - the guy with the yellow flags didn't even seem to need to unfurl them, let alone wave them! And this, on the shortest track of the year...

The marshalls at Monaco are one of the best at that, along with the British. Big respect.

Whatever it is I have no idea, but it's still much, much more exciting than the grand prix that it's promoting!

It is astonishing just how light the car seemed to be, I admittedly do not know about the technical regulations of Formula Renault (which of the millions of FR series that accident happened in, I do not know either) but that car must not weigh very much at all.

You thought F1 Rejects were scavengers just so they could race? Early 1990s backmarkers in CART raised
some interesting stories of their own!!
Also:
Dale Coyne loses both cars before the start.

Great find!
The Lola just looks so sluggish, it just cannot get what little power it has down.

Yes, but
the equivalent video was uploaded by someone else some time ago.

Great practice video's Midgrid thanks.
Looking at the times set by Lola, every lap they were on both drivers were constantly jumping out of the way. I reckon they could've knocked another two seconds off their best aif they just ignored what's going on around them. Of course, it still makes their overall times crap, but might've given the team and more importantly, the sponsors, a bit of confidence to carry on to Brazil.
Must admit though, I've never seen a car so twitchy under braking...

This is a terrific find - thanks a bunch!

I still can't believe a car that slow was granted by FIA to race in Formula One.
It's so unstable it hardly goes in a straight line - no wonder they didn't want to go all the way down on throttle, because it would end Lola's shenanigans even sooner

That's a great one too - we all love us some Délétraz from time to time

And there's Deletraz stopped in a very unfortuate part of the racetrack...
"And what is Deletraz doing?"
And gotta love the Team Lotus logo above Deletraz's shoulder - wonder what Bahar would have done if he were running Lotus at that point?

Spa, Formula 2, rain, Mulsanne Straight, car in front pretty much stops out of nowhere -
no problem.
