Time for some more trivia:
During 2005 Alex Zanardi received an offer for a Formula One test. Which team offered the test and why didn't the test go ahead?

BMW Sauber was the team, due to his competing for BMW in the WTCC. Reason it didn't happen was something to do with not being able to apply enough brake pedal pressure through his 'leg' I think, or not being able to keep his 'foot' on the pedal.

You're in the right sort of ballpark but that's not the answer I was looking for so the question is still open.
And for the record he did end up testing for BMW Sauber at the end of the 2006 season in a modified Sauber C24 if my memory is correct.

If it was 2005, I'd have said it was Williams, given that they were still powered by BMW that year, no matter how sour the relationship was going.
Or Minardi, maybe, for the extra publicity? Pretty much anyone could be offered a Minardi test drive in those days...

You got the team. Now you just need the reason that it didn't go ahead.

Am I right in saying that Zanardi did actually drive a Sauber at one point fitted with hand controls?
& that one test didn't go ahead because he couldn't exit the cockpit quickly enough?
Edit: just spotted the earlier post re Sauber test.

Ah yes. 2005... Forgot BMW were still with Williams then and not yet with Sauber.

The world really has moved on since I graduated from university (first time round).

I do know that the Monaco GP was the 50th of his career and the first to be won by a car with active suspension...

Neither of those answers are correct. Think more along the lines of brushes with the law.

Was it driving barefoot? Which isn't actually an offence (in UK) but it has been known for an over zealous Officer to construe this as not being in proper control. Could depend on where the incident took place.
NB. I think the (alleged) "who do you think you are? Ayrton Senna?" incident was later than this (?).

It had nothing to do with footwear. And for all I know it probably took place in Monte Carlo and the incident was unrelated to the one you mentioned.

3. Who was fined for swearing in front of the stewards after the 2006 Australian GP?

Well, not really. I mean, most teams do that on occasion. Something a bit more different.

Here's a new question: Maurice Trintignant is given as starting the 1951 French Grand Prix for the works Gordini team. However, he didn't actually drive the car. Who did, why was Trintignant unable to drive, and why wasn't the change reported to the race director?
