To aerond : Kay Lon will be driving for Kahama at Bathurst but will be released by the team afterwards when Nicolas Steele shall be signed up. Calinetic will be a driver short but I am sure that either Kay Lon or Mr Paye Driver will be filling in. A new team should be interesting at this stage, still I am sure they will not prequalify

Also can you confirm which teams have a paydriver or not :) Even if by editing the official entry list. :D

If Kay Lon goes to Jones new team, James Davies shall seat in the second Calinetic at Mexico.

Only Horizon (Dean O´ Lauchlan) and FAT (Saeed Al Faisal) are using pay drivers now.

Hi Aerond,

Sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake (the forums have not exactly been a priority recently), but could I please purchase some upgrades for Round 3 onwards? Mr Davies kindly donated me 75 credits.

ASHLEY WATKINSON

Qualifying Performance; 80 points - 40 credits
Race Performance; 40 points - 20 credits
Driver Consistency; 30 points - 15 credits

That's assuming that Rhys allows me to spend them all!

I´m very proud of Mark since he hasn´t driven such a powerful car before and he´s adapted very fast. He´s obviously to gain experience as the first lap incident showed, but he then drove superbly. Me, I was managing to keep a good pace on longer stints than the rest, but the engine didn´t last. It´s quite logical that, in such a long race, this can happen. It´s very soon to tell if we´ll be able to win the championship, but the beggining has been very rewarding and we´re very proud of our efforts

Autosport wrote:THE RETURN OF JONES RACING
During the Bathurst race weekend for the F1RWRS, former driver and team owner Sammy Jones made an emphatic annoucement on his return to the series. Surrounded by scantily clad women and loud music, he revealed the details of his reformed team which will contest the remainder of the 2013 season.

"Yes this is the return of Jones Racing, after a few months of uncertainty, I've finally decided to go for it once more with the series, I'll admit that my decision at the end of last year was probably a little premature, but nonetheless that's all water under the bridge now, what matters from now on is that Jones Racing is back and determined to succeed, starting with this bloody pre-qualifying lottery mess! We've secured some superb new backers, and it's my pleasure to present sponsorship from both British Petroleum via it's Castrol brand, and also Nabisco with it's Oreo brand of biscuits. The car itself is a completely new design from last year, after some simulation work, the MJR-201 was also canned for being hopelessly off the pace, but in it's place the team is delighted to present the CJR-201B which we are very confident will provide us with more success, building on last year's fantastic achievements. This complete re-design will be powered by a supply of Ford HBD VI engines which whilst a compromise on our previous deal with Renault, are still pretty handy powerplants and we'll be trying to get as much out of them as we can. Finally in terms of drivers, I will be returning to the track in the first car, whilst I'm hopeful that Kay Lon will sign as second driver as currently negotiations are still being carried out. All that's left is to prepare for the upcoming third round of the championship!"

Okay so the formalities of all this then:

Team Name: Castrol Jones Racing
Chassis: Zakspeed 891 (to be renamed to Castrol Jones Racing CJR-201B) - 225 credits
Engine: FORD HBD VI - 600 credits
Driver 1: #39 Sammy Jones (is that numbering right?)
Driver 2: #40 Kay Lon (to be confirmed)

Which makes a total of 825 credits, leaving the team with 175 credits for driver/team upgrades.
Sound cool Aerond?

Also finally here's a livery I came up with, haven't a clue whether it will work or not. If it doesn't, play around with it Aerond so it does, as long as it's Oreo blue on top half and Castrol green/white/red on the bottom I'm happy! I think it might need #40 logos on it too but I'm not sure where they go on the template!

Press Conference wrote:Welcome to the joint press conference of Kamaha Ford and Sunshine Infiniti.

Barii Mori : First I announce that Kahama will be renamed Kamaha so it is easier to remember. It also translates (from Kanji) to Demon blade force, which is an ideal name for the team. We have also let go of Kay Lon due to his negative attitude that was harming the team and I have quickly snapped up the talented Nicolas Steele who is keen to show what he can do in a reasonable car. The last two races have not been great with retirements mainly due to other drivers but we shall finish the next race.

We were surprised that old age pensioner Sammy Jones has decided to come back into F1RWRS, however I seriously doubt he will challenge the FAT team as the third team to prequalify and will struggle and i believe will leave at the end of the season again. Still good luck to him and Kay Lon as they take nice saturday drives around the track before being able to explore the local city for all those important souviners.

David Martinson : We are also proud to announce that we will be sharing technology with the Nissan funded Sunshine Infiniti team, this should cut both our overheads and hopefully help us improve.

Shinji Zanmai : We are happy to help Barii Mori, who is one of the more talented drivers in the field and has helped us into F1. We are proud of our start in F1, Shinobu Katayama has qualified on the front row twice and has lead the race twice, only for things out of her control to end her race, she should be at the top on 20 points but so far she is scoreless but we believe that she will win a race this season if not to become the second woman to win the F1RWRS. Hagane Shizuka has been a bit disappointing, especially as we do pay him a hundred million yen per race. Rather then saying he will improve and it was an error, he has been moaning a little, so we have no choice but to give him a warning that he has 2 races to improve or he will be let go as part of the non performance clause in his contract, Nicolas Steele might get his wish for a top team if he can show he is better then Shizuka.

Shinobu Katayam : We I was upset about losing certain wins twice, but I am sure I can win this season. Although it will be tough, I think my strongest rival is Douglas Mann who could have also won the races too. I look forward to the battles of the season.

Cosworth : We are proud of our engines and we supply the ED to Kamaha, the HB to Arrowtech who are performing well and the Audi tuned DFR to Phoenix. We hope that our engines will win races for the teams this season.

Well that is the press conference, if you have any questions for any driver then please ask away.

The re-formation of Jones Racing in the F1RWRS was completed this evening as the team was finally able to confirm that the recently ousted Kahama driver Kay Lon would fill the second seat alongside team owner and driver Sammy Jones.

With the combined experience of both Jones and Lon, the team has arguably one of the most experienced pairings in the entire field, but both will face the difficulties of pre-qualifying and it's much maligned format of determining the top 3 fastest teams rather than just the top 6 fastest drivers. Despite this, Jones was in a positive mood as he confirmed to the press the signing of Kay Lon,

"We're delighted to secure the services of Mr Lon for the remainder of the 2013 season. Having shown just how good a driver he is in the title fight last year, Kay will undoubtedly fit right in at Castrol Jones Racing, and we're thrilled that we'll be able to draw on both mine and his combined knowledge's in order to try improve our car over the season. Mori's inexperienced takeover at Kahama is obvious to all and it's been a major waste of Kay's talent that he's had to put up with such sub-standard machinery. He can rest assured that Jones Racing is no such amateur outfit and he'll be able to enjoy a much more supportive, friendly and overall competitive environment. I can't wait to start working with him!"
