I've been slack lately and haven't been bothered to run the next race at San Jose yet, so to make up for it, I've made a surprise video;

Just watched it, and my god it pretty much summed up the season so far for these Trabants, espically with the cillit bang car!

I'm hoping that a couple people in front of me in the championship do make a epic mistake and/or not score any points very soon!

Round 8 -Do you know the way to San Jose? - San Jose Street Circuit
As the famous song lyric goes, do you know the way to San Jose? The REECCS didn't, the team transporters lost for days before finally stopping for directions. Eventually they arrived, a few weeks late and with a lot of explaining to do. No-one needs to know the details of that, instead, everyone wants to know what happened on the track.

Migle Drasavit qualified on the pole position, but her lead off the start was short lived, with Niko Bellic passing her on the final corner of the first lap. Most of the race was hugely uneventful, with battles only going on in the minor placings and no Trabants had rolled. That was until the 15 minute mark, where lapped traffic became involved. Niko Bellic dropped to third in one corner after being stuck behind Melrose. Bellic eventually ended in eighth. The battle for the lead was then between Drasavit and Merak Keznorski, with Drasavit looking like having the upper hand. On the final lap, the Wartburg of Wouter Lamberigts got in the way, blocking Drasavit. Keznorski caught up and the two entered the final corner side by side for the final run to the flag. Keznorski managed to get the inside run and win the race, the closest in REECCS history.

DAMN IT! Pole position for my driver, but she couldn't convert that to a win because of lap traffic on the last lap. But at least she got second place points.

I was wondering the same exact thing! I know for a fact that in an earlier post, that he would use the MotoGP points system with awards that can be positive points or negative points. I actually tried to update the championship standings by taking the last known official championship standings and updating them according to the MotoGP points system without any of the extra awards thrown in there. But then again, I don't know if the following standings are correct or not.

Anyways, for the people that are indeed dying to know where their driver is at, I have an UNOFFICIAL Point standing that was updated as of round 8, which was the latest round finished. Here's the Championship standings that I had saved on my laptop, but then again this may or may not be correct. So approach this at your own risk!

REECCS UNOFFICIAL POINTS STANDINGS AFTER 8 ROUNDS
Dean O'Lauchlan – 118 pts Skoda 110R
HWNSNBM – 100 pts Skoda 110R
Niko Bellic – 98 pts Skoda 110R
Zbynek Benes – 85 pts Skoda 110R
Frank Zimmer – 80 pts Skoda 110R
Migle Drasavit – 75 pts Skoda 110R
Frank Montana – 70 pts Lada 2101
Brucie Kibbutz – 54 pts Skoda 110R
Merak Keznorski 45 pts Skoda 110R
Yoshio Ikemachi – 38 pts Lada 2101
Dave Simpson – 33 pts Lada 2101
Jonas Mortarhouse – 33 pts Lada 2101
Maxim Simonov – 31 pts Lada 2101
Laurent Seron – 29 pts Dacia 1300
James Davies – 27 pts Dacia 1300
Krzysztof Detmer – 27 pts Fiat 126P
Peter Senerson – 26 pts Fiat 126P
Njord Munk – 22 pts Fiat 126P
Jari Kekkonen – 18 pts Dacia 1300
Richie White – 18 pts Lada 2101
Matej Uram – 17 pts Fiat 126P
Jorma Kalervo – 16 pts Dacia 1300
Ricky Bobby – 16 pts Trabant 601
G. Ceara – 12 pts Fiat 126P
Kay Lon – 12 pts Trabant 601
Ben Fleet – 12 pts Wartburg 353
Kazuhiko Takagi – 8 pts Fiat 126P
Gio Van Dycke – 6 pts Trabant 601
Daniel Melrose – 4 pts Wartburg 353
Samael Meerwick – 0 pts Wartburg 353
Wouter Lambrights - -2 pts Wartburg 353

Wouter Lamberigts disagrees, after all, he's so far the only one who has officially a negative points score.

it's really painfully that all wartburgs are behind the first two trabants, and only one wartburg ahead of the Cillit Gang

Round 9 - Sao Paulo Smash

If a track is good enough to have a first corner pile up with Indy Cars on it's first ever event, then it's a must for the REECCS calendar! That is how the Sao Paulo round earned it's place on the calendar for season 1.

Something about street circuits just causes Trabants to roll, often in hilarious sequences which are later sped up and set to Yakety Sax. However, it wasn't just the Trabants that made this round feature more rolls than a bakery. Most of the Skodas and Fiats joined in the fun, with the occasional Lada and Wartburg going wrong side up. A few good battles occurred throughout the race, but everyone was taking more notice of the rollovers to even pay attention to some overtakes.

In the end it came down to a battle of two drivers, Kristof Detmer and Merak Keznorski. Detmer had led most of the race, until an overtake from Keznorski at minute 17. Detmer was still in the running until the last lap, where newcomer Rhys Davies in the Supercheap Trabant ignored the blue flags and sent Detmer onto the kerb to have a quick roll. He still finished second to Keznorski, though, with Dave Simpson and Ben Fleet battling for the final podium position until the final corner.

Other stuff coming soon - including the points this time :)

A new award idea at the end of the season:
"Do a Barrel Roll! Cup" - 10 points added to season total for the driver who rolled his/her car the most. :D

And again an anonymous race for Meerwick.

Dudes, the manufacter's championship for this series is a HUGE joke! Heck, we are not even half way through the season, and already skoda is leading lada by over 450 pts! it doesn't take a rocket scientist to say that skoda is running away with the manufacter's championship! :ugeek:

Anyways, for the driver's championship, I predict that any one of the 8 skoda drivers will win this thing, but the question is who?

And by the way, here's a few statistics for you people to think about:
1. A skoda driver has won every single round so far except the round at the TGTT when Montana's Lada won
2. Two skoda drivers haven't won a race yet (benes and zimmer)
3. Only two drivers have won more than one race so far and both of them are driving skodas! (O'lauchian and Keznorski)
4. speaking of Keznorski, he has finished on the podium in each of his first 3 races
5. Finally, only one driver (bellic), which is also a skoda driver, has scored points in every single round so far!
