There's a distinct lack of Ash in this thread. I must correct this at once.

That should do it. '1977' is a top album! :D

I approve of Ash.

Lose Control has to be the best song on that album.

Lose Control + Clubman/Special Stage Route 5 = awesomeness. Yes, Gran Turismo FTW! :D

Here's something I heard for the first time in years recently, another one that Virgin Radio used to play quite a lot,

Madness - My Girl

Brilliant song, and I love the piano section in the chorus.

Incidentally, I heard it on Jack FM which is a great radio station that airs on 106FM (or around that) in Bristol, Oxford, Swindon, Hertfordshire and Hampshire. Each area has its own local programming but share the same playlists, jingles, etc. and some hilarious one-liners between songs. For those not in the area, you can listen online!

Daybreak from the Stone Roses

6 and a half minutes of musical HWNSNBMness, especially the last minute and a half.

Controversial East Londoner is gonna put his neck on the line here, and state that Jagged Little Pill is a bathplugging brilliant album.

I was hoping you'd have also posted some Stone Roses. Something along the lines of I Wanna Be Adored.

I don't think I'm quite as egotistical as that title implies...

Thanks - that made me download it instantly. Some songs just fit F1 so perfectly, shame that the Finnish F1 intros are rarely anything memorable...

Also got The Chain and Giorgio Moroder's Ivory Tower now. Expect to hear them in the RoLFS and LGPS highlights videos...

Cool, can we expect early 90's grid screens?

Well here's my current plan: a short intro video with various clips from the cars (which I'll record during the pre-season tests) and The Chain on the background - this will be the same during each video. Then it phases to the name of the current grand prix, after which the end of the formation lap and the grid walkthrough are shown, with Ivory Tower playing in the background. And during the actual highlights "The Truth" plays in the background - if the highlights are longer than that, then I'll also put something from the Formula 1 '97 game soundtrack (like in last season's RoLFS videos).

I personally disagree with your idea about The Chain on grounds the video could be muted if too many people knows it. :|

Speaking of which, Radio X in GTA San Andreas has some good songs there - Hellraiser is my favorite. :)

When I'm playing San Andreas, I prefer K-DST myself - I really don't fancy alternative rock or grunge, and the only songs on Radio X that I've listened to outside the game are Hellraiser and Welcome to the Jungle. However, these days I've already listened through both of the rock stations in the game so many times that I usually mute the music completely and listen to something on my mp3 player or stereos instead.

I think Vice City had the best radio stations ever, as I like 80s rock/metal and pop/new wave (yeah, you read that right!). Not forgetting that it was V-Rock that introduced me to Judas Priest!

As for the videos possibly getting muted because of The Chain, I doubt if it will happen because those videos are unlikely to reach more than about 50 views, probably much less. And if they still get muted then I'll simply reupload them without that music.

Good lad!

Kula Shaker are definitely a forgotten band for me. I do like them, but I rarely listen to them.

I've been on a bass binge, considering I aim on being a bass player... and of course, Cliff Burton pops ups as main inspiration. Something about lead bass is much more awesome than your standard one note bass lines.

Vice City pretty much introduced me to music. Bryan Adams, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Hall&Oates, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Kool&The Gang, Gary Numan, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Human League... and how to forget Love Fist!

I own the original '88 cassette of Sunshine on Leith, and the LP of So.
