The Border-Crossing Challenge
As the name states: your circuits must go through two, or more, nations. Some rules:
I assume for the sake of this challenge that England, Scotland and Wales are all the same nation, but Ireland and Ireland are different nations (Northern and Eire)?
Right, England, Scotland and Wales are all the same nation (the United Kingdom), but you can freely use the border between Northern Ireland and Eire, as far as you don't cross any waterways.
I was planning to add a "no microstates" rule, but eventually I decided against it, so, Simtek, that's fine.

Well, we were partitioned for a reason
Yeah, but was it a good reason? [/disengage.devil's.advocate.mode]

Indeed it was. Not favourable for the majority of Irish nationalists of the time, but better than a potentially more violent civil war than the one we suffered in reality.

I knew it was a good reason really. I was just allowing you to say it wasn't a good reason, it was a great reason! Just a shame this wasn't much covered in my history lessons at school. I am aware of the effect the IRA had on London, though. Like the fact that it is near impossible to find bins on the Underground (or at least it was for a long time) because they (the IRA) used to keep putting bombs in them.
Will attempt a track in due course (haven't decided which border yet, though!).

For the rules stating that the track cannot cross any waterways, are you allowed to cross them if there is alreadya an existing bridge going across it?

Inspired by Mongolian culture and history, this is a mad, high-speed dash across the steppe with an invasion into China for that little added spice of authenticity.
I'll only post the rankings, after having accidentally closed my browser shortly before replying with a wall of text containing comments to every entry. Sorry guys!
Right then. I've already done a challenge on my hometown of Sprimont. It's time to do something slightly different. This time, you must create a circuit within the limits of my current place of residence, the City of Oxford. To clarify, this is indeed the famous university city in England, UK.
A couple of restrictions: -At least 75% of the circuit must be existing roads -New roads may not cut through buildings -Track should be between 3 and 9km long -Cutting through roundabouts and dual carriageways do not count as new roads
Do your best!

Seriously though, had a lot going on. I'm going to prepare a provisional ranking as soon as I can.
You have 24 hours
Bleu was the last entry before the two-day rule took effect, so I think Benetton's entry is disqualified by my understanding. A shame really as it looked good.
Not sure if I actually have to post all the links, so I won't for now.
9. Bleu - Almost exclusively 90-degree corners (a recurring theme...), nothing interesting here at all. 8. tBone - Good elevation changes (hard not to get in this part of the city), but far too many 90-degree corners to be really interesting. 7. peteroli34 - Too tight and twisty for my taste, although it incorporates a healthy amount of elevation changes and nice sights. Ultimately too fiddly. 6. TheFlyingCaterham - Not as tight as peteroli34's attempt, but all the 90-degree turns make this track far less interesting than it could be. 5. dr-baker - Very like UgnUser's track, but with more of a stop-start nature that I find less pleasing. Still decent, though. 4. Simtek - Good variety of corners and scenery, though not particularly brilliant for overtaking. You also missed a good opportunity for elevation changes. 3. UgncreativeUsergname - Just as good as peteroli34 with the elevation and sights, but definitely more flowing and pleasant, although it's a shame about that double hairpin on St. Giles... 2. novitopoli - Definitely a layout I'd enjoy driving myself, with the very pretty areas of the City Centre all visited, with brilliant elevation differences and flowing curves. All around great. 1. Benetton - It was really close, but Benetton just edges to the win with a judicious use of 'new' roads, a tour of the many parks around Headington Hill and the crossing of the Cherwell. Also, that kink on Longwall Street is actually a blind corner, as an old building corner constitutes the apex, making it that much more awesome.

So to clear up whether Benetton wins, the rule for whether posts after the two-day rule but before the track list or judging count has historically been "do whatever feels right to you". So Benetton does win.

Quite similar to tommykl's last challenge: you'll have to design a circuit within the borders of Bari, Italy (the city I was born in). Rules are similar too:
- The circuit must be max. 10 km long; - At least half the circuit must consist of existing roads; - As always, cutting through roundabouts, dual carriageways and similar stuff don't count as "new roads"; - New roads mustn't cut through buildings, nor through the railway; - When using existing roads, make sure there isn't any level crossing with the railway (tunnels or bridges are OK).
It's harder than it looks.
