Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
MRT would like to offer the services of Vidal Reyna-Sanchez and Dean O'Lauchlan for the Bud 800 to anyone that needs a driver (And before someone shoots them down for being useless muppets, they're two proven oval racers with Reyna-Sanchez even winning the 2014 Indy 500 in May and O'Lauchlan still holds the race lap record for the IMS)

Christopherson may have to take a role in F1RWRS commentary, taking up the role of James Hunt.
Kay Lon will now be the F1RWRS equivalent to Philippe Alliot.

Having decided to trawl my way through the wiki for some more coding work to do, I discovered this gem and it got me thinking that we should have more articles of folklore like this on the wiki.

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
For Indy, I want to know your opinions on what I do for the race. Do you guys want:
a) A race coverage similar to what Wizzie did last season in the F2RWRS race. This would mean that all teams would have to have two cars only, and that the race would only have 22 starters (although I'll probably do two 50-lap qualifying races rather than doing pre-qualifying - all part of the coverage!). It also means I need everyone to design liveries, and I won't be available to do them all.
b) A text-based thing similar to what I did last season, which would result in every car starting, but would be more boring for everyone.
Which do you prefer?

I've discovered a much more fundamental problem to our plans to transfer the "800" to GP4. The maximum race distance is 100 laps. No exceptions ![Neutral :|](./images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif)

RACE --
The truth is MRT had two races at the second part of the season where they HAD to take every point available to be a real threat for the championship win. In Italy Phillippe Nicolas took his opportunity and won easily while Mark Dagnall suffered a bad weekend. Unluckily for Nicolas, Cyprus was the other race where MRT clearly had an untouchable car, but the reliability of the car wasn´t on par with its speed once again, and for the worse, Mark Dagnall was still there to pick up a victory in a race that had become increasingly harder for him. All in all it can be said that it was a disastrous weekend for MRT as Dave Simpson´s car was out too early as well. At Kamaha everything went wrong too, and Nicolas Steele´s options vanished early as well, if any, of winning the championship this year. Not it only seems a matter of time and it would be a real surprise if Mark Dagnall doesn´t become the first double champion of F1RWRS history.
Dagnall did an intelligent race; Knowing he had nothing to do against the MRT´s, he quickly passed Ben Fleet then decided not to push too much, that was until he found Dean O´Lauchlan at the exit of the chicane and lost his front wing as a result. Ben Fleet seemed to have 2nd place secured, but his DGN failed once again and left Dagnall, who had no oposition from Kay Lon, to pick up the win.
It was also a happy weekend for Kay Lon; having been beaten up again and again by Katayama, the German driver seemed to finally react, with a good qualifying performance and even a better race; his position behind the two dominant teams was never in doubt and for once his car completed the race distance, bringing in a very much needed bulk of points. Kudos as well to Aurelien Moll, who stayed out of trouble in a track where the Gillet wasn´t competitive enough and to both Jones drivers; the team is a solid player and this kind of security is the one the team needs to build up into the points.
There isn´t too much to say on the negative points of the race. It has become clear that Akrotiri Bay´s interest falls only in the reliability side but its inhability to produce good racing has become apparent and it seems it will be out of the calendar for good next year. So we give the ROTR to the track´s abbility to produce outstanding repair bills. Things didn´t go well to GRM at Zimmer´s return, and Kamaha drivers didn´t have a very good time either, as they had to retire when on hunt for points.
Next race at Zandvoort should be better. Period.

If you want, you can run Melrose in the car this weekend, and CJR will run Christopherson, that is if you're struggling for a replacement.

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
My intial plan was to run Simpson in the 2nd MRT car but he never specifically accepted or rejected the offer and I decided to wait until he made a decision. That in itself wasn't the problem. The problem was my backup plan was one Rhys Davies as he's been begging me for weeks to get him out of that crapbox of a car and he can sort out a replacement at HRT in about 2 minutes flat ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Well, that's settled then. Simpson in the 2nd MRT car it is. Now excuse me while Melrose takes his medication so he doesn't have a stroke from all the stress he's having

I believe so. Haven't had a chance to update the cup standings yet so I'll get it done either tomorrow morning or evening

Jones Racing's Daniel Melrose is looking increasingly likely to sign the contract extension of Jones Racing in 2015, according to the mystery woman he's been hanging around with in the paddock, whose turned out to be his new manager. She was quoted as saying "Daniel is incredibly happy at Jones Racing and while he's feeling at home in the equipment he's been given, he admits that the championship is a long shot, even if he's still in mathematical contention. He's just waiting for Sammy to give him the contract for next year and he'll sign it in a heartbeat."
In other news, the MRT engine workshop in Cologne is looking to negotiate with the F1RWRS Commission with supplying customer engines to another team in the F1RWRS next year, rumoured to be the new Simpson Motorsport effort. While the exact details of the deal are yet to be confirmed, it looks likely that the engine MRT would supply Simpson should the deal go ahead would be the new naturally aspirated BMW P90, rather than the BMW P87 MRT is reportedly still trying to get approved for F1RWRS use next year.

Rumours out of Scotland are starting to float around that local hero and former F1 World Champion Nathan McKane is looking to join the plethora of former F1 legends to make the jump to the F1RWRS, which is now reportedly the most popular racing series in the world. McKane initially looked at taking the DGNineering seat alongside defending champion Mark Dagnall when Nathan Scott was sacked after the Mexican Grand Prix but Ben Fleet beat him to the drive. Now, with the silly season in full swing, McKane is allegedly looking at taking one of the ArrowTech seats for next year as Daniel Martins' position in the team looks increasingly precarious. Neither McKane or ArrowTech boss The Fox were available for comment.

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
Mitie decrease stake in team.
After the team failed again to pre-qualify this weekend, News has come through that the Mitie Aviation company have decreased their percentage within the team to only 49%, dropping down from the previous 80%. The majority shareholder is now Mr.Alexander himself, as has hinted at a possible takeover of the team from a new sponsor. "Its true that Mitie have relinquished some of their shares within the team, named after the company themselves", explained Mr.Alexander. "I would like to confirm to anyone interested in buying a stake in the team this will not happen for the forseeable future. With myself as the main shareholder, I will continue to run the team in the normal way. We are now looking of course for a main sponsor for next year, but the team itself will not be sold to anyone else."
With contract talks with controversial Kay Lon Now in advanced talks, no news as of yet as to what happens with Mitie's current driver line-up, Matthias Valsattis and David Neuberg. Rumours though indicate that Neuberg is the more likely driver to stay, thanks in no part to his Drubnik sponsorship. "Once we reach a conclusion with Mr Lon we will start to finalize our line-up for 2015", said Mr.Alexander. "At this moment in time, both drivers have been re-assured they will play some part in out future."

For the record, Spencer will be back in the MRT for the final four rounds of the year, providing that he stops throwing the car into the nearest barrier in the process but that article is pure gold

In a recent article on his blog, Nathan McKane denied rumours that the former F1 World Champion will be making the jump to F1RWRS to 2015. The Scot has taken a two year sabbatical after winning two championships in his three year career in F1 to look at the state of motorsports and plan out his future in the sport.
"There is alot of options out there, it doesn't surprise me with the publicity in that series (F1RWRS) that rumours based on little fact will be made."
It was confirmed by Nathan on his blog last month that he was testing the new regulation GT1 cars for the revival of the class in 2015, but never confirmed if he would manage or drive a car in the series.
Surprise! McKane will be in F1 in 2012. I'm still thinking about involvement in this series, but I want to wait for a concrete set of regulations for 2015 (I remember someone wanted to make a F1RWRS Rule Thread) before I make my decision. The fictitious artice where Nathan talked about F1RWRS is called "The problems with being famous in Scotland."

Chris Dagnall in the hunt for 2nd driver
After the recent announcement by MRT on Rhys Davies being their 2nd driver for 2015 all the heads are turning now into Chris Dagnall, as he's yet to comment on who'll team up with Mark Dagnall in 2015. It's known that Dagnall has a preference for in-house drivers, but right now he only has Fredo Mestolio and Hansuke Shioya as options. The japanese driver is yet to make his F1RWRS debut so a DGN drive next year is unlikely to happen. Meanwhile, Fredo Mestolio has been pretty irregular, combining stellar efforts like qualifying the Trueba at Brazil or driving the ARC in podium places at Norisring with equally embarrasing times like the DNQ at Brands Hatch and Spa.
Another driver linked up to the seat is Ashley Watkinson, who's currently without a drive after being sacked from HRT earlier this year, while David Neuberg is believed to have impressed the 1991 world champion and may try to convince Mr. Alexander to release him. More drivers could be in the race for the DGN seat so watch this space (this basically means that I'm open to offers

DGNgineering to test Hansuke Shioya before season ends?
Chris Dagnall has declared today before Qualifying at the Mediterranean GP that he could give Hansuke Shioya his F1RWRS debut before the season ends. "Yeah, it could happen, but we´ll only evaluate that option if the drivers championship is secured before the end of the season. It would definitely be great to see a Japanese driver debut at his home GP, in front of his sponsors and his fans. Even if he doesn´t get the drive he´ll be with us at the Chinese and Japanese GP weekends to learn how the team works through the weekend, that will be a good experience to him."
Korg, which is sponsoring DGN this season, could be well interested in this option to happen, although it´s not clear if Shioya will get his drive on merit or if he´ll make use of personal sponsorship to get into the car.

Re: F1RWRS -- 2014 - Onwards
Aerond, may I make a formal request to offer Shioya employment at Jones Racing in the F2RWRS next season? I've looked at available drivers and he's my first choice to partner Hawkin, and with two fairly strong qualifiers in the team, I'd expect to clear pre-qualifying pretty regularly. If you have bigger plans for him then that's fair enough, but at this stage I'd like to point out that I want him in my team! ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
