I propose a re-do of qualifying in light of this.
Autosport Plus wrote:The Melrose Enigma - Is the man past it?
He may only be 29 years old but some are already saying that Daniel Melrose doesn't quite have what it takes to be an F1RWRS Champion anymore. Yes, the same man who dominated Formula One for the best part of half a decade. The same man who came within a catch-22 strategy call of winning the F1RWRS World Championship in 2011. And yet, he's had several sub-par seasons since in cars that are only upper-midfield material at best. Back in the day, the Melrose we all know and love would have simply driven the wheels off such cars and won the race by half a lap anyway but not anymore. Which begs the questions, have the times past the Australian? Autosport's Ed Straw decided to explore the issue in depth to solve the 64 million dollar question. The conclusion he comes to will have massive ramifications throughout the field and, most importantly, for the man himself.
Random Trash Tabloid wrote:EXCLUSIVE: Melrose branded as trash by Lindsay
Despite a gagging order in place against Scuderia Alitalia CEO Alasdair Lindsay, the controversial Scot has branded Jones Racing driver Daniel Melrose as an "egotistical maniac" that frequently experiences "delusions of grandeur".
Random Trash Tabloid has obtained exclusive audio recordings of the wacky team owner making repeated insults about the Australian driver.
"Did you see this thing in Autosport? Ha, Melrose is such a self-important bitch...who the f*** cares what he has to say? He speaks like every word from his mouth is pure gold...more like pure shite."
RTT assumes this is the work of illegal immigrants spreading HIV around the country by eating cancer-ridden corn flakes in a conspiracy by the Labour Party is casuing Mr Lindsay to act out in such a way against Melrose, but being Scottish, that jock scum certainly had it coming. The staff at RTT can only mull over the story while eating their Full English Breakfast and look down in shame at his pathetic actions.
Autosport wrote:Jones: "Melrose should know better"
Just prior to the Mediterranean Grand Prix, Sammy Jones blasted his driver Daniel Melrose as 'ungrateful' following his comments that the Castrol Jones Racing team's car was 'upper midfield at best'.
"Well I'm so sorry Daniel" Jones fumed, "but myself and my team work our arses off to put out a competitive car. We saved you from further mediocrity in the ArrowTech - look at where they are this year - and gave you a car that is able to consistently challenge for podium finishes, and has even won a race in my hands, all against much more powerful turbo-powered cars. We're sorry we haven't lived up to your expectations, and I find it bizarre that prior to this outburst, you made it public that you were willing to accept the contract extension. Well I'd be more than happy to have you at our team for 2015, but not if you're going to slag our cars off and piss off my sponsors!"

By the way Wizzie, I do want Melrose at CJR next year, just thought I'd stir things up a bit![]()
I'm going to email you a contract proposal, and upon your agreement, Melrose will be officially signed!

Last time I checked no-one called Ed Straw worked for Autosport. Edd Straw on the other hand...
Plus, I doubt Edd Straw would write such garbage.

MRT had a double DNF. And Kay Lon actually finished for once, in 2nd place. That's all I remember

As long as Dagnall didn't finish either, I can't complain about that.

Or you could set up an intricate plan where ARC buys 100% of Tropico, then ARC nominates Von Gottrop and Fakkinen as their points scorers, and then sell the team after two rounds.

If a plan like that actually worked, I'll give both of you a case of beer each

That is weird. Fleet qualified 3rd, Douglas and Pippa qualified 9th and 12th.

I´m pretty happy with this result. All the bastards ahead of me retired so it meant another win. I have some chicks in the hotel room waiting for me, so if that´s the most interesting thing you have to ask me then I´m off.
Sammy Jones wrote:I'm delighted that we've been able to take our second consecutive double points finish today, both myself and Daniel drove strong races at a track that shouldn't really suit our car which is down on power compared to most, even with the upgraded engine Ford have supplied us with. Nevertheless I feel that the 10 points we've scored these last two races have really set us up nicely when considering the constructors' championship and just how tight that is turning out to be. We must continue to keep scoring points over these last 4 races to stand any chance of overhauling Gillet who are just 4 points ahead of us. The reliability of our car has really done us proud though, both lasted the distance when only 8 cars actually finished, and that is a testament to the work our boys in Banbury have been doing with the CJR-103. Our aim was to iron out the problems we had last year finishing races, and we've comfortably achieved that. Now we must not get complacent over these last 4 races and really push for podium finishes and even race wins if the opportunity arises. We know that 4th place overall is the very least we can achieve, it would be great to go one better.
Daniel Melrose wrote:I honestly have no idea what our muppet friend Ed Straw is doing over at Autosport and neither does my manager frankly. Thankfully he got fired for that pile of garbage as the Jones Racing car is a fantastic piece of machinery to drive and he has absolutely no idea when he says that I don't 'Have it' anymore. Anyways, onto more important matters and I'm happy with two more points in 5th place although if I had a bit more luck, I could easily be third in the championship right now which would be a fantastic effort from the team. Sammy and I are working out a few kinks for next year's contract but I can guarantee you'll see me in Castrol Green, White and Red for 2015 mate and with the new engine regulations, anything other than a championship win next year would be nothing short of an unmitigated disaster for myself and the team.

There. Anyone, feel free to add anything I missed. And maybe Aerond could add it to the first post.

One question, if Matthias Valsattis fails to start a race this season, does that mean he won't be eligible for a drive next season? He DNQ'd early on when Neuberg made the grid proper, does that count towards his Superlicense?

Luckily for you though, Lappy's muppet friend (i.e. Me) just expanded the Reject Superlicence criteria.
EDIT: And since I'm currently under the impression Matthias has done a half-season of Formula One quite competitively, he should have no problems qualifying for a license.
EDIT of an EDIT: Turns out I can't read. Ignore my previous statement

Yeah, saw what you did. Matthias' elder brother is the F1 driver. I'm still sorting out the line-up for next year, so I will bring it up with the F1 commission at a later date (If that's who I should contact over this little problem).
I would also suggest to other teams who are wishing to keep drivers on who have yet to gain a Superlicense to have a think too.
