Any ideas chris or anyone?
Are you running it directly on XP? I think you should try to run it through a Virtual PC with Win 98 or DosBox. You shouldn´t have any issues that way.
ok cool, i'll try that.
Thanks mate.

1990 - ROUND 8 - G.BRITAIN
Qualifying
After years of disaster this had to be MY YEAR at home. I put all my heart into qualifying (and went for a slightly conservative setup) and I got the pole-position!
1. Dagnall -- 1.02.355
2. Prost -- 1.02.428
3. Mansell -- 1.02.788
4. Senna -- 1.02.945
5. Patrese -- 1.03.244
6. Boutsen -- 1.03.519
Race
I went for a one stop strategy in order not to lose many time at the pits as this race is usually the quickest of the calendar. Prost passed me at the start but I managed to get the lead again in 1st lap. From then on we kept a very close fight for 1st as the others quickly disappeared, but in lap 5 I did a 360º spin and felt to 2nd, recovering the lead in lap 6. In lap 8 as Prost tried to pass me at Stowe I took the outer line and, being the track very slippery in that part I couldn´t keep control of the car and I stepped into the grass, damaging my front wing! Although I had to pit I decided to keep my programmed pit-stop and only changed tyres. I was down to 13th when I came off the pits and I quickly passed the other guys being 6th by lap 13, 5.9 secs behind Berger. I passed both Berger and Boutsen as they fought in lap 16 and next was Mansell in 3rd 17.9 secs ahead. I was going very fast and I put down the gap to 10.9 in lap 20, then everybody stopped and I was 1st again by lap 25, with Prost 14.3 secs behind! Senna retired with a loose wheel on lap 27 and I was keeping the distance to Prost and even increase it a little bit puting the gap from 14.4 in lap 30 to 17.1 in lap 37 before my pit-stop. I obviously lost the lead, but I was 2nd some 12 secs behind the Ferrari and he had stop once more, thing he did in lap 42. From then on I just went on to admin my advantage, which was some 24.4 in lap 55. Prost retired on the final lap leaving Mansell on 2nd place for a Brit 1-2, and a victory at home. bathplug yeah!!!

This is definately Chris Dagnalls year!!
It's similar to Mansell's career where he had 4 awful years in a Lotus and a medicore first year at Williams. Then suddenly he was winning races frequently and became a hero to the great british public!
I bought a signed Dagnall Goodyear front left tyre on ebay last week.....boy i'm a happy chap!!

Open the dosbox.conf file, then find an option called "fullscreen" (first in the list after the descriptions of differnet options) and replace "false" with "true".

1990 - ROUND 9 - GERMANY
Qualifying
After being here the fastest last year, and missing a certain win, I had hopes this year I could make it at Hockenheim, but to my own surprise I wasn´t the fastest this time. The ferraris were really fast this time so I could only get a 4th. Somehow disappointing but showing my real pace at this track. Senna was unbeatable.
1. Senna -- 1.46.168
2. Mansell -- 1.46.911
3. Prost -- 1.47.331
4. Dagnall -- 1.47.580
5. Piquet -- 1.47.791
6. Patrese -- 1.47.832
Race
I lost the 4th position to Piquet in first lap, thanks to going a bit wide at the Ostkurve and I couldn´t really keep his pace! (Not to mention the Ferraris and Senna). On lap 5 Piquet was 3.5 secs ahead of me, but at least I could stay in front of Patrese. I think I forced too much to cut time over Piquet as I went wide at first corner in lap 7, damaging my front wing. I stopped for a new one and as I was coming back to the track, something really bizarre happened: As I was exiting the pitlane, the suspension suddenly broke, the car went straight and I crashed with David Brabham, who was just taking the first corner. Result: Instant retirement for both. Prost overtook Senna afterwards, to lead until he retired, so Senna won the race and took the lead of the championship again.
1. Senna -- 1h24m37.381
2. Mansell -- +22.554
3. Piquet -- +44.632

1990 - ROUND 10 - HUNGARY
I hate Piquet, but he said something true about this track; "They forgot to place the straights"... Exactly. I think is how everybody feels about Hungaroring. Oh, it made the McLaren lose the advantage too.
Qualifying
The runs with low fuel were pretty convincing and got a 3rd position. Enought to fight on Sunday.
1. Senna -- 1.18.026
2. Prost -- 1.18.265
3. Dagnall -- 1.18.340
4. Mansell -- 1.18.351
5. Patrese -- 1.18.512
6. Boutsen -- 1.18.637
Race
Although I chose a low fuel load for a 3 stop strategy in order to keep the car ahead, it was clear very early that I wouldn´t have any chances of wining the race. Prost passed Senna into the lead in lap 2 and they went on a head-to-head for the race while I could be happy to hold the 3rd place as Mansell spun at the start. In lap 5 I was 5 secs behind Senna and in lap 10 I spun and lost 10 secs, keeping on track 6th 1.7 secs behind Piquet. I passed Piquet in lap 12 and started approaching Berger when I stopped in lap 17, coming back 15th. However, I was back to 7th soon as the others went into the pits or I passed them. Mansell retired in lap 22 and Capelli and Piquet went into the pits being 5th in lap 25. Next was Berger, 6.9 secs ahead. When he went into the pits I climbed to 4th but Patrese was 10 secs ahead in lap 32, and 9.2 in lap 37 before my second pit-stop. I came out 5th again, 19.3 behind Berger, who quickly passed Patrese. The gap to the italian was 11.1 in lap 43 and 10.7 5 laps later. Berger went for his 2nd pit in lap 52 and Patrese in 57 leaving me 3rd for a short period of time, as I did my 3rd stop in lap 59. I came out 5th, some 12 secs behind Patrese and I had to do a final attempt to get close to the Williams, but I lost control of the car in turn 5 in lap 64 and came back 6th, 17.2 secs from Piquet, which was impossible to recover in the last 15 laps. I scored a 6th pos. which isn´t a very nice result from Hungary, but at least I got one point and who knows if it can be important at the of the season! Prost won, so on the positive side Senna is not too far ahead on the drivers championship.
1. Prost -- 1h45m15.549
2. Senna -- +4.257
3. Berger -- +45.994
4. Patrese -- +47.795
5. Piquet -- +1.06.683
6. Dagnall -- +1 lap
7. Modena -- +1 lap
8. Alesi -- +1 lap
9. Nakajima -- +1 lap

11. Warwick -- +2 laps
12. Alliot -- +2 laps
13. Larini -- +2 laps
14. Martini -- +2 laps
15. Nannini -- +3 laps
ROTR -- Yannick Dalmas; Spun in lap 1, then damaged his suspension and retired when recovering from the spin in a laughable move.

1990 - ROUND 11 - BELGIUM
Qualifying
Qualifying as it should be: I dominated. Prost and Senna kept a nice battle for 2nd position way ahead of the rest as well.
1. Dagnall -- 1.51.428
2. Prost -- 1.52.368
3. Senna -- 1.52.377
4. Mansell -- 1.53.017
5. Patrese -- 1.53.548
6. Boutsen -- 1.53.960
Race
I did the right start and I hold Prost into the first corner (as he started better than me). From there on, I could concentrate on the pleasure of driving Spa, as the others were way slower. My advantage to Prost was 1.4 in lap 1, then 5.1 in lapp 3, 20.7 in lap 10!! Anyway, when you´re running so alone without any kind of pressure is easy to lose focus on what you´re doing and I nearly ruined it when I spun at the exit of Eau Rouge in lap 14!! I was very lucky to keep it far from the wall... In lap 15 I lapped Piquet, who had destroyed a front wing before. By lap 21, one before my pit-stop, the gap was over 40 secs!!! Then Prost retired in lap 24, and with Capelli going for just one pit the italian was in 2nd place! Although over a minute behind me. The rest of the race was just a matter of lapping slower drivers. Senna regained the second place after the 2nd stop but he was never going to endanger. I only spun again a couple of laps before the end but nothing serious happened and I scored the fastest lap in lap 43, one before the end! A very great race and great result
1. Dagnall -- 1h25m46.623
2. Senna -- +1.25.075
3. Mansell -- +1.40.339
4. Capelli -- +2.05.263
5. Berger -- +1 lap
6. Suzuki -- +1 lap
7. Alesi -- +1 lap
8. Boutsen -- +1 lap
9. Caffi -- +1 lap
10. Larini -- +1 lap
11. Patrese -- +2 laps
12. Alboreto -- +2 laps
13. Lehto -- +2 laps

1990 - ROUND 12 - ITALY
Qualifying
After coming back in Spa, I felt my chances were bigger than ever in Monza!! I needed a good result in order to keep fighting for the championship and that´s exactly what I had to aim for. Once again, I put a great effort in getting the pole for an extra bit of confidende, and I got it... 1 sec. over Senna
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
A great way to start the weekend
1. Dagnall -- 1.23.822
2. Senna -- 1.24.896
3. Prost -- 1.25.269
4. Boutsen -- 1.25.338
5. Mansell -- 1.25.388
6. Patrese -- 1.25.474
Race
I didn´t the best of the starts and Senna passed me... briefly, as I got the lead again before the first lap ended. From there on... it was a matter of taking advantage on Senna, as he would make just 1 stop and I would go for 2. I managed to build a respectable gap, which was 18.5 in lap 14, just before my first stop. I came out second and started to press on Senna when he stopped in lap 22 (which seemed a bit early for a 1 stop strategy). I gained the lead again (this time over Prost) and my gap to Senna fell an instant later in lap 27 when a stupid try by De Cesaris of getting out of the way meant I had to use the gravel trap, in the same lap Prost retired. In lap 33 I went in for my 2nd stop, and I knew I would have to fight for the lead if Senna didn´t stop, but he did indeed, in lap 33 and I gained the lead again
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
Boutsen stopped a bit later, meaning another 1-2 for McLaren and another win this season!!
1. Dagnall -- 1h14m55.878
2. Senna -- +27.377
3. Boutsen -- +46.387
4. Piquet -- +1.01.356
5. Berger -- +1.22.783

Aerond, this career of yours is amazing and I'm still following it, but I have one little question.
How did you get to do that test session with only 12 cars? Isn't it so that you can only disable 2 cars? Or do you just delete the files for the other cars?

I've spent the last hour reading through your whole career - I am absolutely enthralled, and this is the fulfilment of a lot of childhood dreams. I spent many a primary school lesson imagining what my GP career would be like. I still do, sometimes and I'm 17 years old and soon to be at university. I hail you sir!!!

How did you get to do that test session with only 12 cars? Isn't it so that you can only disable 2 cars? Or do you just delete the files for the other cars?
I just put the teams in a separate carset and left all the other places void (as GP2 asks you to have 26 or 28 drivers), making this "void" (totally black) drivers and cars slower than the rest so they wouldn´t be a problem for the rest of the drivers. so, in fact, I had 26 drivers, but the others were unnamed so I didn´t even dare to mention them

Even I might not last until 2005, mainly due to being crap, although I now have 2 points. Jack Christopherson was seen wearing a Chris Dagnall cap at the 1991 French Grand Prix.

It's a fun idea though. We should let our fictional careers cross over, if we share a time period. :3

Haha as one legend retires, another starts his journey! Sammy Jones to replace Chris Dagnall in the hearts and minds of the F1 public!

....Although there are rumours circulating that Marlboro and Roger Penske are in talks with Chris Dagnall to run a 3rd Penske at the 1991 Indy 500, having been rejected by Ayrton Senna after he won the 1988 F1 Title.

If you bothered to write this, you could have perfectly bothered about writing the review. We want Chris Dagnall, and we want him now!
