This doesn't seem to be working, but I'll describe the track before making an other attempt at making it visible. It features two flyovers, both of them being bridge entries. The first part of the circuit is fast and flowing, with only long straights and quick corners. Both flyovers, actually 270 degree curves, are also included in this part. After leaving the second bridge, the circuit hits the smaller roads in the center of the city, with many 90 degree corners that will confuse the drivers and engineers before heading back onto the Ring Road and the start-finish straight.

Oh, and it's in Lagos, Nigeria.

mines not working as well

No idea why, but I think it's happening to all of us, hence why we are all posting screen-prints of our tracks.

Johannesburg hosts the south african gp, 46 laps of tough African streets, the technical circuit had to be shortened because it would go over the legal length of circuits a roundabout produces the ultimate challenge for drivers.

I withdraw my previous entry and submit this instead - it's similar, but with an extension in the south-eastern corner. I thought this configuration was too long when I first did it, but turns out it's within the limits after all!

Here's my track, located in Vereeniging, South Africa. Near Johannesburg. Being located in 1450 metres altitude makes it a bit more challenge.

I was planning my circuit in Bloemfontein too but then decided another location. Wasn't the same area as yours, I tried to build one around Ehrlich Park.

Here is my track:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5577044

It has not one but two fly-overs, one of which goes under a highway bridge (which should be good) and the other will have to install a temporary bridge to make sure the race doesn't turn into a demolition derby (I'm thinking like the bridges from the Race of Champions, only more wider to accomdate overtaking). The pit straight would be on the straight with the 4km marker on the end. The track goes counter-clockwise.

It's a bug in the code which stores the track under a number. For some reason, it's been returning either a stupidly big number, a negative number, or something which isn't a number, hence 'NaN' - Not a Number.

Well for one, your flyover is actually an intersection. That's why I voted your track so poorly.

When I design circuits, I like to find the most interesting piece of road that I can. Then I start looking at the roads around it, trying to find a shape that fits together. This was my entry for the first round, when we were using airports. I looked at dozens of airports before I settled on Berlin, which I liked because it didn't follow the conventional airport runway layout and offered up some interesting corner combinations. When we had the Qingdao round, I came up with this (which very nearly won the best and worst awards at the same time), again because of the interesting corners. And the same principal applied for the Northern Territory round.

Basically, when it comes time to design circuits, I ask myself one question: "Would I want to race on this circuit?". If the answer is yes, then full steam ahead. If not, then I'll try something new. I like to think that it's this approach that has led me to place in the top three best circuits in every round I've entered (I didn't enter the Transfagarasan round or the Africa round because I chose the theme).

In this sacred golden envelope,I have the results for the "Flyover street circuit in Africa" design contest.

Best Track
1.JeremyMcClean-20 points
2.Benetton-10 points.
=.Tommykl-10 points
=.Klon-10 points
5.Wizzie-6 points
=.BaconLettuceNinja-6 points
7.Bleu-4 points
=.Pasta_maldonado-4 points

Worst Track

1.andrew-24 points
2.dr-baker-20 points
3.UgncreativeUsergname-14 points
=.Klon-14 points

Misc Awards
Divided Base Award-Klon gets it for running in second in the best track award while being one of the few voted for Worst Track
Bathplug Physics,I have Gmaps Pedometer! Award-andrew pulled exactly the reverse of what dr-baker did in Helsinki.dr-baker thought a flyover was an intersection, and andrew thought an intersection was a flyover.

Yup,there were very few participants in the Rejectfulest track round, and andrew doesn't exactly win it by a landslide. On the other side of the spectrum,Jeremy McClean takes a clear cut victory in the best track round, and has to choose the theme for the next track design.

Well, I thought up something different, so that didn't make a difference:

The rules for this one are to make an interesting circuit in the country of Kazakhstan. Don't ask me why. You can draw the circuit anywhere you'd like in the country.

One rule is to not have any crossovers through intersections. You can crossover through highway passes, bridges, etc. You can make as many new roads as you like, but try not to smash through buildings. Also, try to use the satellite view when drawing the track. (It is not mandatory.) Other than that, go completely crazy!

The Almaty street circuit

At 11.6 km, this circuit is much too long to be considered to be an F1 track, but the simple fact that it would be incredibly fast would make realistic lap times no issue. The circuit starts on the black dot marker on Ryskulov Avenue. The circuit start s with a flat-out left-right chicane, then heads into turns 3-7, a medium-to-quick succession of corners that make up a real challenge for the drivers leading into a straight at Suyunbay Avenue. Turn 8 is the first real passing opportunity, a 90° left hander that feeds onto another fairly long straight and another tight corner, offering a chance for revenge.

From turn nine onwards, the circuit enters a slow and technical section as the circuit winds throuh the residential section of Alma-Ata. Please don't mind the little piece of track that shoots out on the right of turn 19 (just before the 5km mark), that's just a mistake by me. After turn 19, the end of this section filled with 90° corners, the track enters Tatibekov Street and returns to its quick and straight self, with turns 20-23, a series of sweeping kinks, not slowing down any cars, but making the track once more fun to drive.

Turn 24 is the third main passing place, a 90° right-hander into Khaliullin Street. The next straight is broken by turn 25, a sharp kink that will need drivers to lift the throttle for just a split-second, lest they meet Mr. Wall on the exit. Turn 26 is yet another passing opportunity, but one that takes balls, as the drivers must brake to take the sweeping but narrow corner. They then enter a long curving straight leading to turns 27 and 28, a sharp double left-hander, somewhat like the last corner at Bahrain, which is the best overtaking spot on the circuit.

After that, the circuit returns to the 4 km-long flat-out section that serves as a pit straight, the start-finish line coming right in the middle of this section.

To summarize: 31 corners, 11.6 km, 5 overtaking spots and a very fun track to drive.

My (hopefully-not-so-rejectful-this-time) attempt: the Grand Prix of Uralsk! It's a bit long, I know, but it harks back to the origins of GP racing, and of the Manx TT and Nordschliefe tracks. But only in terms of length, nothing else, honest!!!

The Oskemen Grand Prix: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5589398

Set along the Irtysh River, it is of a good length to be a race track for all manner of motorsports.

(the original track I made was about 16km in length...decided that it was too crazy.)
