Lest we forget, Michael Schumacher went to Jordan with a Checque from Merc.... Seven Times World Pay Driver.

But I think USF1 has the money to get on the grid and to last the whole year, I just think they don't have the knowledge to be any quicker than ... well, 10 seconds off the pace.

But didn't his sponsors pull out at the 11th hour at Minardi, with fans coming together to support and secure the drive? I remember hearing about that back in 2004.

Sorry to bump this thread, but, speaking of HWNSNBM...
I've found the real reason why USF1 have signed López.
Before 2010, López was winning in TC2000, the Argentine national touring car championship, and look what I found, you see, there was another driver competing in TC2000... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximiliano_Baumgartner

Yes, Niki Lauda. He started as a pay driver too....so I've heard.
Yes..sort of. He took a large bank loan to buy himself a seat at March. I think he returned it with the money he got signing for BRM in 1973.

Wow, it's like an epic mash-up of Max Papis and HWNSNBM. Now all we need is Yuji-Denis Inoue.

So that driver would swerve back and forth and eventually end up flipping the safety car over in the gravel trap?
