Talking about a decent line-up, how Sunshine went in the last race? :P

Well, James Davies lucked into a point when Barii Mori's engine exploded close to the end. Daniel Martins finished 8th I think.

Martins was 7th, but he went off at one point. Davies was in the points or just outside them all race. I think.

OK, looking at the wiki, I can tell that Gillet scored no points, and also that they earned ROTR. What for, may I ask?

Because they were plain crap and unable to score points (and not even come close) in a race with 9 finishers

Prospec confirm Mestolio for 2016

Prospec Team Principal Gary Cameron confirmed in an interview in the aftermath of the Austrian Grand Prix that current driver Fredo Mestolio would be staying with the team for the 2016 season. The Italian scored the team's only points this season - and the first of his career - when he finished 5th in the recent German Grand Prix and has generally impressed, particularly on Sundays.

"We're delighted with the job Fredo has done this season," said the former world champion turned team boss. "He very seldom makes mistakes during the races, has run consistently in the top 10 a number of times and been let down by the car more than once. We'd like him to work on his consistency over one lap as we've occasionally struggled to get past pre-qualifying, but overall we're very happy to be re-signing Fredo for another year."

Meanwhile, in other news,

Schiller to walk out on Mecha

Swiss F1RWRS driver Jean-Luc Schiller is set to walk out on the Mecha team to join Tropico. Schiller, who has scored one point in his career, has struggled along with team-mate Steven Mackintosh to drag the recalcitrant Indonesian cars past the Friday morning pre-qualifying sessions, only managing to qualify for two races out of the 11 so far this season. The former Prospec driver brings substantial backing from Credit Suisse, which would appeal to Tropico, who sacked Nathan Scott after he failed to qualify for this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix.

Scott to drive for Mecha?

After being dispensed from his drive at Tropico, Scott's manager Chris Dagnall said he would be looking his protegé to find a drive for the rest of the season. "I'll stablish contact inmediately with Mecha's management to see if Nathan could drive there for the rest of the season. To be honest, I don't think he's done it wrong at Tropico; Nathan has qualified the car more times than all those bastards could have hoped for, but obviously money is important and it's a fact that they have two pay drivers now"

Come on Baker, get with the program! That wiki has been abandoned for at least a month now. It doesn't get updated anymore. THIS one does.

Maybe Aerond ought to update the link in the first post of this thread as well then? That's how I normally navigate onto the wiki...

Aerond, please?

I'm only asking for the first post in this thread to be updated too (possibly maybe for any newbies who come along to refer to too). Is this really too much to ask for, whether I bookmark it myself too?

Mad El Presidente just called. Aeroracing owe him two million credits for turning their fortunes around in the space of one off-season :P

And with our secret campaign to sign Dagnall being successful, we'll announce our second driver at the end of the European season. To the surprise of nobody in the known universe, our two main candidates are David Neuberg and Phillippe Nicolas. Meanwhile, Macklin will seriously consider any offer from a midfield team with his preferences being Prospec and Kingfisher. Failing that, he'll drop back down to the F2RWRS.

Ah, I stopped paying attention the minute the two MRTs blew the feature race qualifying at South City. And can someone fill me in on what exactly Nicolas has achieved in the last two races?

exactly nothing. Oh, and a critical lack of speed in the wet (as well as Neuberg, may I add, except that Neuberg almost destroyed Stig's race on the final lap at Spa)

And yet Spencer was even worse than BOTH of them in the wet. How that works is beyond me.

And thanks for giving me an excuse to make the next two F2RWRS races wet, which means it'll be twice as chaotic and guaranteed to have someone given a million year ban at the end of it

Aerond, regarding the upcoming Alitalia test at Varano;

Everyone who isn't Kremnicky, van Nieuwenhuijzen or Hannesson is a pay driver. All eight drivers will focus on fastest lap performance. Also, can you do me a favour and post how many laps each driver did.

Looks like McGovern got good random stats. Which is amazing considering how awful he was in RoLFS.

It is interesting. Will McGovern's current stats carry over to F1RWRS should eventually get a reject license? I may have inadvertently gained a useful asset here.
Also, Aerond, don't be afraid to delve into Voeckler's performance file and make him even worse. If anything, I insist that you do

mmmmh, not, from 1st January 2016 stats will be calculated upon previous results, including those drivers who have already been given stats.

RACE

RACE

Two thirds of the championship gone and the championship is hotter than it ever was, thanks in part for the appaling lack of reliability suffered by Mark Dagnall, who once again was left in the side by his car when he was making up places. He certainly had the pace to win, but instead the victory went to Rosco Vantini, who is claiming a place at the very top of the sport; the italian is not only consistent, helped by a reliable and fast car, but he also has the speed and the will and he made the most of his home race by winning when nobody was expecting him, specially after battling head to head with Sammy Jones for many laps; but the Jones team made the most of Vantini's strategy and he emerged ahead of everybody else after the last round of stops, and started pulling a very strong pace; meanwhile, in the other Jones car Sammy managed to pass Rhys Davies and Ron Mignolet in two over exciting final laps; Rhys played the card of the one pitstop strategy but his tyres didn't respond as expected in an overly too long second stint, however, with the help of Aurelien Moll, whose only appearance all weekend was to block Jones and Mignolet and to put the battling trio together for the final laps of the race, he passed Mignolet at the beggining of the final lap and made his way into the podium. Mignolet, on his side, was believed to be able to keep his seat at DGN if he managed to finish on the podium, but the other two drivers showed their valuable experience and he'll have to make way for test driver Hansuke Shioya. Mignolet was never expected to fight for the championship win, but he was certainly expected to perform better in a season with very few highs.
Barii Mori, on his side, was battling Martin McFry for the lower points until the Foxdale man decided to perform one of the most rejectful crashes in F1RWRS ever; As Neuberg was parking his car near the pit entrance with a puncture, McFry realised too late of the presence of the orange car when entering for his second stop and crashed to the wall, putting an end to a reasonably good performance. Nobody else really reserved ROTR. Pippa Mann rounded the points with just an average performance. On the poitives one can't forget two men; first, Phillippe Nicolas, who was driving a comanding lead when the MRT lack of reliability struck him; the other man we were talking about is Fredo Mestolio, spoiled as well by his fans, he was driving the Prospec in the points before the car stopped.
On the negatives... well, Gillet once again didn't appear at all, except for the mentioned act of blocking by Moll. The others just had average races, except perhaps the notable case of Arrowtech. It's true that they don't enjoy a powerful powerplant, but their pace was just awful; maybe they should start praying for more rain for the races ahead.

Rain. Oh god no. Fleet is definitely going to flop now, Alitalia's small chance to make the show just reduced to nothing.

Not really, since your team benefits from being under the average power outing, although it's going to be a massive lottery

Well, you didn't make the show, but it doesn't seem like it was Fleet that was the problem...

Bathplug, I was hoping Simpson wouldn't qualify as Autodynamics will now get beaten by them

Well, that is surprising.

As disappointing as it is to not make it past the pre-qualifying hurdle, the upside is that Fleet's first place and the session and Prospec & Boxtel's troubles in said session mean that we've actually outscored them in the PreQ cup at a track we were expected to lose a lot of ground at. So in a strange way, despite our weekend being over on Friday, it was actually a success!
