Dear god, you're using IE7?! That's just bad practise. Abandon it immediately. It's not even a safe browser anymore, much more easily exploitable than the newer browsers. Stick to Chrome or Firefox for gods sake, for everything...

After the successful experiment yesterday after the race to produce better video quality; I'm thinking to go even further and use some sort of voice chat so one of you can COMENTATE THE RACE LIVE. If anybody is up to do this daunting task please ask me (either here or by e-mail). We can practise before next race so it should be fine :) --I'd advise that whoever does it, it is someone who regularly attend the chat sessions)

Autosport wrote:Shell to leave MRT

Amidst much speculation about the future of MRT with team owner Daniel Melrose becoming the president of Tropico in recent months, longtime sponsor Shell have announced they will not renew their contract for next year. The Dutch Oil Company, having been part of the team since its JLD days, is believed to be one of several big names to leave the team next year, with the German-Australian team seriously reconsidering its long-term contract with tyre supplier Michelin when the new regulations come into force for 2016. In Shell's place, it has recently been revealed that the Venezuelan firm PDVSA will the fill the void left by Shell.

"It's a shame that Shell are leaving us after such a long partnership together." said Daniel Melrose from his Presidential Office in Tropico. "We've had some great times together, and obviously some pretty crappy times as well, for lack of a better word but we've rewarded their faith in them over the years as, combine MRT's and JLD's results together and you get the most successful partnership in F1RWRS history." When asked about PDVSA, Melrose was upbeat about the prospect of working with the Venezuelan giant. "While we lose one fantastic partner in Shell, we gain another in the form of PDVSA, who we will make feel most welcome into the MRT fold. In addition to signing the Tropican Tourist Board earlier in the year, our expansion into Latin America is proving to be fruitful for our team so far. Today's signing will go a long way to securing MRT's long term future as a cornerstone of the F1RWRS legacy as we aim to take both titles next season."

Despite his willingness to talk about today's signing, he was strangely quiet about Tropico Grand Prix's future when asked, as the deadline for his announcement concerning their future funding has already passed.

RacingCrap wrote:Bombshell - Vantini "had contact" with MRT

The presses were ABLAZE in the Zandvoort paddock earlier today, and NOT for the reason that Vic Lee would want YOU to believe. While MRT boss Daniel Melrose is still away in TROPICO, sources close to the team have REVEALED that Jones Racing's STAR rookie ROSCO VANTINI had preliminary talks over a race drive at MRT for 2016. The alleged communication between the two parties revealed that Vantini was willing to JUMP SHIP to MRT if DGNgineering's lead driver MARK DAGNALL signed for the British team for 2016. While the message was sent the week BEFORE the Belgian Grand Prix, Melrose NEVER got to read it in full before Dagnall signed for MRT. While it's ALLEGED that Melrose and Vantini's management SWORE a pact of SECRECY which covered the entire MRT team, someone close to Melrose has BROKEN this pact and has broken the news to RacingCrap. While neither Melrose, Vantini or his management were available for comment, it's believed that all this could be a PLOY by MRT purely designed to DESTABILISE the Jones team, after MRT's former lead driver RHYS DAVIES joined the team after the Italian Grand Prix.

Autosport wrote:Jones blasts "shambles" performance and labels Shioya a "traitor"

An absolutely livid Sammy Jones publicly humiliated his drivers Rosco Vantini and new signing Rhys Davies who made his debut for the team at yesterday's North Sea GP. Both drivers retired in the race, Davies early on having spun out before being rammed by Hansuke Shioya, and was followed by Vantini late in the race having been off the pace all weekend.

"This performance was an absolute disgrace" moaned Jones, "the first race that I sit on the pit wall and watch my cars go round was quite frankly an embarrassment. Rhys had an excellent start and was almost certainly on for a podium finish, even if the MRTs were faster, but he was pushing too hard. It was a silly mistake to make. Rosco had trouble with his setup all weekend, but I expected a better pace from him on race day, he was being passed by Tropicos for crying out loud!"

Jones was also furious at his former F2RWRS driver Hansuke Shioya who moved to the DGNgineering team in time for yesterday's race. The Japanese driver went off shortly after Rhys Davies had spun into the gravel and speared the Jones car heavily in the side, ending the Australian's race. As of yet there is no word on his medical condition, but it is feared he may miss upcoming races.

"Shioya was an absolute cretin, he obviously saw the yellow flags out for Rhys' spin, but he just ploughed into the car as if it wasn't there. If I hadn't already sacked him for being completely crap in the F2RWRS then I wouldn't have thought twice about doing it now. He should be punished for such dangerous, reckless driving. I hope Rhys is okay, I'm as clueless as the rest of you on his condition, but if he is sidelined for any of the upcoming races, then I'll return to the cockpit in his place. I hope that's not something I have to do though, my ideal line-up is Rosco and Rhys, despite their performances today they are supremely talented drivers, both capable of much better."

Also regarding the calendar, we do not need 3 races in America, especially with Indy at the end of the season. Long Beach is fine, drop the other two in favour of places that deserve races like Imola and Montreal.

I'd say leave the Road America race, as it's close enough to Canada to count. Phoenix on the other hand needs to be culled with a axe. Now. Which gives me an excuse to campaign for some fictional street circuit as the Tropican Grand Prix. :P

And I understand the logic of having Monaco so late in the season (you know, avoid clashes with other major events and all) but would it be too difficult to swap it and Zandvoort around, so we can have Belgium and the Netherlands back-to-back to save on travel costs?

Problem is the Tasman GP moniker works best if one wants to leave the Australian Grand Prix at Bathurst.

It is misleading and would probably annoy half the state in reality. So I obviously don't consider it a good solution

Gillet ENB will enter 4 cars for Indy. Obviously, two for De Bock and Moll, a third for Albertini, and the fourth depends on whether Dofasco wants Seron to drive. If they don't, Laurent will drive, if they do, I'll offer the seat to Gregor Pascal.
