Amidst much speculation about the future of MRT with team owner Daniel Melrose becoming the president of Tropico in recent months, longtime sponsor Shell have announced they will not renew their contract for next year. The Dutch Oil Company, having been part of the team since its JLD days, is believed to be one of several big names to leave the team next year, with the German-Australian team seriously reconsidering its long-term contract with tyre supplier Michelin when the new regulations come into force for 2016. In Shell's place, it has recently been revealed that the Venezuelan firm PDVSA will the fill the void left by Shell.

"We've had some great times together, and obviously some pretty crappy times as well, for lack of a better word but we've rewarded their faith in them over the years as, combine MRT's and JLD's results together and you get the most successful partnership in F1RWRS history." When asked about PDVSA, Melrose was upbeat about the prospect of working with the Venezuelan giant. "While we lose one fantastic partner in Shell, we gain another in the form of PDVSA, who we will make feel most welcome into the MRT fold. In addition to signing the Tropican Tourist Board earlier in the year, our expansion into Latin America is proving to be fruitful for our team so far. Today's signing will go a long way to securing MRT's long term future as a cornerstone of the F1RWRS legacy as we aim to take both titles next season."

Despite his willingness to talk about today's signing, he was strangely quiet about Tropico Grand Prix's future when asked, as the deadline for his announcement concerning their future funding has already passed.

An absolutely livid Sammy Jones publicly humiliated his drivers Rosco Vantini and new signing Rhys Davies who made his debut for the team at yesterday's North Sea GP. Both drivers retired in the race, Davies early on having spun out before being rammed by Hansuke Shioya, and was followed by Vantini late in the race having been off the pace all weekend.

Jones was also furious at his former F2RWRS driver Hansuke Shioya who moved to the DGNgineering team in time for yesterday's race. The Japanese driver went off shortly after Rhys Davies had spun into the gravel and speared the Jones car heavily in the side, ending the Australian's race. As of yet there is no word on his medical condition, but it is feared he may miss upcoming races.

"Shioya was an absolute cretin, he obviously saw the yellow flags out for Rhys' spin, but he just ploughed into the car as if it wasn't there. If I hadn't already sacked him for being completely crap in the F2RWRS then I wouldn't have thought twice about doing it now. He should be punished for such dangerous, reckless driving. I hope Rhys is okay, I'm as clueless as the rest of you on his condition, but if he is sidelined for any of the upcoming races, then I'll return to the cockpit in his place. I hope that's not something I have to do though, my ideal line-up is Rosco and Rhys, despite their performances today they are supremely talented drivers, both capable of much better."

Problem is the Tasman GP moniker works best if one wants to leave the Australian Grand Prix at Bathurst.

And if I were you, I'd keep Albertini and Pascal full-time in the F2RWRS next year as they're both fast turning out to be very effective operators indeed.

But Shioya, what an idiot, I can't understand is why it took Sammy so long to throw him out on the street. Still, qualifying showed that the car isn't as slow as I thought when I came here, and I quite enjoy Macau, it should be interesting. Although I like Zandvoort and the A1-Ring as well...
